The following projects are proposals for Concéntrico 2024, a competition held annually at Logroño, Spain.

Completed in just under 5 days, the following proposals were meant to be designed considering: • response to the context, • sustainability and • use of Garnica wood panels.

The following entries were submitted under the categories named A) Plaza Escuelas Trevijano B) Vina Lanciano and C) Celebrar la Ciudad responding to different environments and urban contexts.

All of these projects aimed at improving social interaction and engaging the public with the contextual fabric of the surroundings while also promoting tourism in the region. It ultimately culminated into projects that promoted sustainable use of materials, also reminding visitors about the pristine nature of the surroundings and the need to preserve it for the future generations.

+01 DUAL EMBRACE We travel to explore and understand the world and find ourselves within it.

This exploration is about embracing who we are and the dual nature of reality. This pavilion is designed with the spirit of embracing, by looking within and then the outside.

Squares are the core of urban life. It is the place where you play as a kid after school, you meet with your friends as a teenager, you rest with your loved one as the springs of your life pass.

Taking inspiration from the movement of two hands embracing one another, the two curved walls create a central space to meet and congragate without hiding the square’s landmarks (the tree and the statue)

+02 THE SHELL Taking inspiration from “La Concha” in the front and Greek theatres, “The Shell” proposes an urban intervention that emerges from the ground like a marine gastropod . The structure can be used as an additional set of seats for La Concha and a playground for skaters or a stage for smaller performances themselves.

+03 WHAT WE LEAVE BEHIND This pavilion aims to create a dialogue between the visitors and the history of this site, the landscape and the vocation of the land. It is an allusion to “Puenta Mantible” the roman bridge’s shape and is a lookout point to enjoy the hills with subtle hints at being a wine cellar. Ultimately, it allows the visitor to reflect on traces of time and of the human presence on this fertile land. The interactive wall made out of sticks moving on a surface with holes serve both as a playful activity and as an advertising panel (to write event or draw the winery logo
