The Brainergy Hub will be the heart of the new business campus in Jülich. As the new epicenter of the ambitious development, the design aims to create an omnidirectional building as the energetic and creative and innovative platform for creativity and innovation and a flagship project for sustainable design. Thanks to its modular structure, the building forms a flexible framework that allows for adaptability, growth and different uses.
The round shape of the building clearly identifies the Exergy Hub as the main building block of the campus. Above the landscape It forms arcades that extend along the entire perimeter and are accessible from all directions. The main entrances face north and south and are each connected to an appropriately connected to an appropriately dimensioned square. To the east and west, side entrances are connected to the to the network of paths in the open spaces. The shape of the building creates a link between architecture and nature - the landscape flows around the building, creating a seamless unity between the north and south of the site.

NEUES RBB MEDIENHAUS
location: Berlin, Germany
function: mixed use (TV information production, office)
size: 20 000 m2
type: competition 1st prize year: 2020

duties: overall building design, design director status: concept
With the construction of the new media house, RBB intends to set a new milestone in German broadcasting history. The news center, will be a pulsating center for all information and create new spatial opportunities for networking and collaboration. In the course of the new building, the opportunity will be sustainable renovation of the entire site to transform it into an open, experienceable cultural landscape to enable participation.
The design develops from the themes of communication and networking. In the sense of a „cross-media media house”, hierarchies and clusters of use are dismantled. Instead, multi-layered workplaces are offered, which allow a maximum of flexibility and networking and can thus react to the rapidly changing media landscape.
The characteristic element is formed by a „floating ring” above a media landscape, which skilfully mediates between the listed ensemble and the new building.
The designed cubature can be divided into three zones: The base zone, which integrates all functional areas such as Studio E, data center, workshops and warehouse. In a floating ring - Publish and Distribution - which forms an arena around the newsroom. The functional center in between - the Newsroom of the RBB. This media landscape enables a flexible arrangement of communication and concentration areas. In the same time, as the end of the existing magistrale, forms the identity-creating center. This media topography is visible to the Kaiserdamm street and creates a new address there.

TVP INFORMATION CHANNELS’ HEADQUARTERS
location: Warsaw, Poland
function: mixed use (TV information production, office)
duties: overall building design, team leader of competition designproject co-manager of commission design status: building permit
The form and composition of the project are simple – a tall vertical tower added to a main, lower horizontal building. With the use of these powerful geometries, the surrounding chaos is given order and context. The project is defined programmatically, with the newsroom in the horizontal building and the panoramic studio at the top of the vertical tower. As the editorial process brings many different people and personalities together, the creation of a workspace that supported colaboration and communication was crucial for the office. To achieve this, different zones were dedicated, with enclaves for privacy in each zone. Throughout the design process, an effort was taken to generate a plan that would facilitate and stimulate the process of creating television material. The goal was not only to illustrate the creative process of journalism but also to express it in its many stages. With this goal in mind, the project implements an open model of observation, allowing the public to witness both the final result and the stages leading up to it through a glazed facade. Transparency within the building is also encouraged through the use of a nave for the production spaces, with offices located on the top floor. A line of sight is maintained through the two spaces, generating more opportunities for ideas to cross-pollinate and re-invent themselves.

NEW PGNIG HEADQUARTERS
location: Warsaw, Poland function: office
size: 27 000 m2
type: competition project year: 2017
colaboration: work at Maka Sojka Architects duties: team leader of competition design status: concept
Polish oil and gas industry (PGNIG) is a company that acts as the main gas distributor in the country. The company consists of 4 departments (A,B,C1,C2)
The spatial composition of the program is based on the compilation of four main volumes, corresponding to individual companies of the capital group. Each of the blocks is based on a lower base with the heights of VI, V and IV stories, respectively. Each of them has its height dominant highlighting the entrance to the building. The building of company A occupies the most privileged position in the group, towering over its surroundings with its vertical form. The dominant solids are cantilevered above the entrance to the building, creating roofed arcades above them. The main entrance to the AB company building is located under the highest part of the group.
An element that additionally distinguishes the dominant is the loggia/vertical garden occupying the whole facade exposed towards the city center. The cubic volumes of buildings for companies A, B and C are interlinked with twostory connectors. On their roofs, green terraces are available for office workers. In the building connector for the A and B departments, there is a conference center available from both parts of the building.
All four departments are gathered around the inner courtyard/garden, which can be a place of rest and foster the integration of employees. There is a two-story underground garage under the whole complex.
ground floor plan
part of location context: existing monumental brick silos
colaboration: work at Maka Sojka Architects duties: complex residental buildings design, among others the dominant building – from early concept to construction phase status: completed
The basic compositional principle of the estate was the synergy of two concepts – integration and separation. The idea was to integrate the project into the urban fabric in a spatial and functional dimension, while taking care of the intimate character of the place and protecting the residents from the burdensome aspects of city life, such as noise caused by traffic. Integration is also the answer to the question of how to solve the logical connection of areas along the main communication route of the Zoliborz district. The quarters of the designed housing development are located around a centrally placed agora with a dominant at the end of the viewing axis. The building that plays the role of this dominant differs from other forms, the materials from which it was made and the individually developed detail. It completes the representative public space organized around it and is a showcase of the investment.
Higher construction right next to the main street, consisting of objects of similar scale, separates the interior of the housing estate from the busy Powazkowska Street. The area between the buildings has the character of a city park and is the backbone of the entire foundation.
