Canadian Swim Patrol
National Lifeguard Pool Option
This program is for participants who are ready to go beyond the learn to swim program. Great prep for Bronze Star while working on Rookie, Ranger and Star Patrol. Prerequisites: Must be 10 years of age and up and able to swim in deep water.
This course teaches the core content needed to lifeguard at a swimming pool. Must be 16 years and up by the last day of the course as must show proof of Bronze Cross and AEC or Standard First Aid / CPR C (current within two years) on the first day of the course.

Bronze Star Great for pre-Bronze Medallion training. Learn self-rescue techniques, in-water searches, water rescues, CPR and first aid. Must be 10 years of age and up and have completed Swim Kids 7. Apr 10-June 19 Sun 11:15am-12:30pm (no lesson Apr 24 or May 22)

Bronze Medallion Learn lifesaving rescues, CPR and first aid skills plus develop stroke efficiency and an endurance swim. No age prerequisite if candidate has Bronze Star; if not, must be 13 years by the last day of the course. Apr 10-May 15 Sun (no lesson Apr 24)

Bronze Cross Learn more complex lifesaving rescues, spinal injuries, CPR and first aid skills, plus fitness training. This is the prerequisite for NLS. Pre-requisite: Bronze Medallion. May 29-June 19 Sun 4:00-9:00pm

FIRST AID
LEADERSHIP Water Safety Instructors This course develops instructional ability for planning and teaching Red Cross Preschool, Swim Kids and Adult / Youth lessons. What’s New at Killarney Leisure Pool?! AMBASSADOR OF FUN Games for all ages in the afternoons on Saturday and Sunday. Parent participation required for those under 8 years old. Ask the lifeguards for the times of the games.
CLIMBING WALL Fun for all ages!! Climbing wall open upon request.
Standard First Aid & CPR C Whether you need training for employment or simply want to be prepared to respond to life-threatening emergencies, this course will give you the skills and knowledge to act with confidence. Through practical activities, you will learn to recognize and treat injuries including head & spinal, softtissue, facial, abdominal & chest, burns, bone & joint, and other common medical emergencies.
