ABOUT ME

I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and am currently a Junior studying Architecture at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have been in the architecture program for 5 semesters and have completed 4 projects so far. As my short journey through the world of architecture has progressed, I have found residential architecture and home design to be most fascinating to me. Projects such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water and Luciano Kruk’s Dune House, have really fostered my love for residential design. Although I have just started my career I believe I am very well equipped in programs such as Revit, Autocad, Enscape, and the many Adobe products.

Goals

Currently, I am looking for a full time position in the field of design in hopes that I can further progress my skills and grow in my professional experience. I look forward to acclimating myself with the work environment of a firm as well as learning what it takes to work in a team-oriented environment.

Thesis Project

Brief

This project took place during my first semester of senior year and was submitted to the Solar Decathlon competition. The project is a single family housing unit that is aimed towards college aged students who come from low income backgrounds. The project uses many different techniques to achieve net zero living while also providing a comfartable and affordable living space for its occupants.

The inteiror of the project uses a minimilistic design to provide comfort for the younger aged occupants. The interior layout features two units that use a stacking technique, these two units are connected by a main entryway and stairwell. The materials used on the interior include wood laminate flooring, tile flooring, carpet flooring, as well as off-white wall paint application.

Residential Project

Brief

This project was a brief project during a summer residential studio. The typology chosen for this design was a tiny home. Tiny homes are believed to be a future of residency, especially when it comes to sustainability. The site is located in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Priorities of this project included great views of the lake, minimilistic design, and maximizing space in the interior.

Exterior Renderings

Summer Resdiential Project

The exterior of the building has a minimilistic design that matches the concept of what a tiny home is. The home’s exterior attempts to match the terrain with a sloped motion. The exterior features many windows and a back deck to show off the incredible views that lake tahoe has to offer. The main material used throughout the exterior is metal paneling used from cargo containers.

The interior of the home provides a cozy, home-like environment, whilst still maintaining the aspect of a tiny home. Space was a priority in this project, so every inch of space was used to the best of it’s ability. The interior features a lofted bedroom as well as a split-level livingroom. Interior materials include wood flooring as well as painted plywood.

Stiduo IV Project

Brief

This project took place my second semester of my Junior year and it is the most advanced project I have completed thus far. The project criteria was to design a museum in hisotric downtown Columbia. The musuem chosen was an art museum that focuses more on the public space aspect than the art itself.

Studio IV Project

The interior of the building has a modern look with the use of wood laminate floors and marble walls. The interior is meant to be very open to create that public gathering space for students and regular patrons to use. The highlight of the interior is the ceiling treatment. The ceiling uses a wood slat panel treatment with a cutout highlighting those panels. The cutout is meant to represent the cutout of the Lake of The Ozarks.

Studio IV Project

The form of the building was designed based off the shape and form of the Missouri Bluffs. The exterior materials were heavily inspired by the Praire Fire Museum.
