Peugeot RCZ 2.0 TDI 163 GT Reviewed 12/03/14 This is a fantastic looking car!! The engine on this car is a 2 litre diesel and its has 163 BHP but for me its not Quick enough they have bought an R edition out which has a bit more go in it but the diesel is a little disappointing as it looks the part but doesn’t drive the part.
Having said it lacks power it does handle very well it’s like it’s on rails its low to the ground and ultra aerodynamic. The standard gearbox could be a little more precise, but GT-spec cars get a shorter throw, which makes gearchanges more satisfying. The RCZ is also pretty good at shutting out wind and road noise. However, the petrol engines are far from quiet, and you’ll have to decide for yourself whether the exhaust note is addictive or just loud. The RCZ’s cabin is something Peugeot can rightly be proud of. The dashboard has a lavish soft-touch covering, and all the trim looks and feels expensive. The majority of its controls work with slinky precision, too, but Peugeot’s reliability record is no better than average. The RCZ does have four seats, but in effect it’s a two seater because the rear
ones are next-to-useless for adults – headand legroom are extremely tight and the rear seatbacks are fixed bolt upright. The rear seats do fold down, but even with them in place the RCZ has a decent-sized boot. Even entry-level Sport models have sports seats, dual-zone climate control, alloy wheels, a USB port and rear parking sensors. GT cars add leather upholstery, electrically adjustable heated seats, front parking sensors, automatic lights and wipers and larger alloy wheels. Over all I like it it’s just not an Audi TT and it’s not that much cheaper than an Audi TT or a Mercedes SLK.

Milton Keynes, Bedford and Hitchin Rock Choir record at Abbey Road Studios in London
L
ottie Greenhow’s Rock Choir - with branches in Milton Keynes, Hitchin and Bedford - put down some tracks in the studios made famous by The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Queen.
Lottie took 207 members of The Rock Choir (branches in Milton Keynes, Hitchin and Bedford) to the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. They recorded three-part harmony arrangements of John Farnham’s “You’re The Voice” and Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours”, arranged by Rock Choir’s founder, Caroline Redman Lusher. Some members who came to Abbey Rd had been in the choir for less than 5 weeks. Milton Keynes Rock Choir recorded first, followed by
a combined session with Bedford and Hitchin. The choir got to explore Studio 2 (where the Beatles recorded) before moving to the larger Studio 1 to record the songs. Each member was given a set of headphones to hear the backing track and there were 21 vintage microphones used to capture the Rock Choir sound. The choir worked with producer James Hawkins, who is also a Rock Choir leader in south-west London and Surrey, and worldrenowned recording engineer Simon Rhodes and his team, who also worked on “Skyfall”.

Elsewhere a hard frost kills off all or most of the top-growth and new shoots sprout from the soil each spring. These will still develop into good size plants around 2-3ft / 60-100cm tall. This month you should be able to buy rooted cuttings very cheaply. Even better, see if you can find a friend who already grows fuchsias and beg some for free! Grow them on for a few weeks under cover: use a porch or conservatory if you have no greenhouse. Transfer them to a slightly larger pot if necessary.

Lawns don’t like shade Take a good look at those border plants, shrubs and trees – they have a habit of encroaching on the lawn and weakening it by denying light. Then … get the secateurs out! Is your mower up to the job? Check your mower is up to the job – does it need a service? Make sure the blade is sharp. Remember to raise the height of your first cut to just ‘top’ the grass – cutting it too low will put the grass into stress and set it back - just when you want to encourage it.
Does your lawn need some T.L.C? The ground starts to warm now so it’s a good time to repair any bare patches that have appeared over winter. Rake the patch to create a bed, sow the seeds with a little top-soil and water daily. They’ll germinate in a few days. Don’t mow or feed them until a few weeks have passed and they’re well established. Hand-pick those early weeds If hand-picking isn’t your thing and you don’t fancy buying, storing and handling chemicals, get the professionals in. Look out for sickly-looking patches Leatherjackets, the larval form of the ‘Daddy Long-legs’ can devastate a lawn in spring as they chomp through the roots of the grass. If you suspect a problem, get professional advice.

ith baby number two due to arrive in May 2014, Kim and I wanted to check out the 4D HD scanning offered by Humpty Bumpty in Old Wolverton, and we were not disappointed.
Humpty Bumpty is located in the picturesque Manor Farm Court off of the Old Wolverton Road which adds to what lies in wait when you see your baby in HD for the first time. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who made us a cuppa and guided us to waiting area. When it was our turn to meet Olie Bump the Sequel, Lucy met us in the scanning room and straight away made us feel at ease. They have all the latest equipment, plus a very comfy sofa for the partner to sit and enjoy the HD movie.
What can I say, our little bundle is one active little baby, Lucy was as surprised as we were at how much it was putting on a show for the camera! Just like its dad. The images we saw were unreal, it is like looking at your baby weeks before it is born. After 30 minutes (which flew by) we were presented with a folder complete with photos of baby, a DVD of the HD movie and a USB stick with ALL the images we saw. We were looking forward to baby arriving but now we have seen it in HD we are even more excited about meeting our baby ……………… roll on May to find out. s part of National Apprenticeship Week, City MP Iain Stewart visited SMC Pneumatics to meet with apprentices and discuss just how important the schemes are.
Iain met with second year apprentices, Jeffrey and Abigail. The two apprentices are currently training as engineers with SMC Pneumatics, with academic support being provided by MK College. After discussing with both apprentices and managers the importance of apprenticeships Iain gave his strongly held view on education in the work place. He commented, “Jeffrey and Abigail are two prime examples of why apprenticeship schemes, such as this one, are so vital to the UK. They have drive, ambition and are keen to learn.” Iain added, “It is no secret that as a nation we need to get more young people interested in careers such as engineering. Korfball is a bit like netball and bit like basketball - but better!* It’s played in mixed sex teams of 4 men and 4 women on a court similar sized to basketball. Korfball is played indoors during the winter and outdoors during the summer. The aim of the game is to work with your team-mates to get the ball through the hoop (Korf) Men can only mark men and women can only mark women and unlike netball, you can’t shoot if your defender is within touching distance of you – so you need to move quick! Small businesses will lead the way in 2014, says company whose tenants already employ 1000 people

Milton Keynes will boom in 2014, says the town’s largest serviced business premises provider, as the number of people employed in its units tops 1000 at the close of 2013.
Bucks Biz, with over 400,000 square feet of space and 150 tenants in Bletchley and Denbigh, says it is already planning more units to cope with the expected growth in demand and bringing forward plans to develop extra space at the huge Interchange House in Howard Way. “Our units currently provide work for around a thousand people and we have seen that figure rise steadily,” said Dominic Muscat, a director of the company that owns the business. “As Milton Keynes business booms, led by small businesses, we are already identifying potential new units that can be converted to provide the premises needed for small companies to thrive without hassle.”

n the 10 May 2014 the Hope for Hollie Campaign will host its 6th annual charity ball at Doubletree by Hilton, StadiumMK.
This year marks seven years since Hollie Carter, aged 8 was diagnosed with the extremely rare and fatal condition called Niemann Pick Type C, which affects only 800 people worldwide of whom 3 live in Milton Keynes. The disease causes progressive neurological decline and childhood dementia with affected patients rarely living into teenage years. This year’s ball will take on a 50’s Grease theme and is supported by RGS Music Group Doubletree by Hilton, Murrays the Printers and MKFM. Guests will be treated to live music, a drinks receptions, three course meal, live entertainment, charity auction, disco and much more. All money raised will help Hope for Hollie continue supporting the work of Niemann Pick UK, a charity that provides vital specialist services to affected families and facilitates research into the disease. Hope for Hollie Founder and Hollie’s mum Helen said ‘this year we are excited about returning to the ballroom at StadiumMK, the home of our first three balls. Each year our

balls have received such wonderful feedback and the campaign now has a strong network of supporters. The Milton Keynes community continues to provide great support to our family. Hollie is reaching milestones we never expected to see. She is growing into a bright bubbly young lady but needs a lot of extra support. We cannot be complacent about this disease, Hollie is showing some classic symptoms of disease onset but we try not to dwell on this. We focus on the beautiful bright spirited young girl who continues to show such courage and determination. We are determined to do all we can to try and give Hollie the best chance possible of a future. Since 2008 the Hope for Hollie campaign has raised a staggering £150,000 in support of Niemann Pick UK.
