POSITIVE LIVING (I am I) What are you feeding back into life?
Every soul alive has karma and baggage to work through, to let go of or to complete. Very few are able to pass entirely through life unscarred and unscathed. Very few understand what keeps them repeating things that they really know they should not. Fewer still understand what they do themselves to prevent forward motion, to prevent what they no longer need – from moving on. We are all on a journey of improvement and progression. What we are, how we live, our attention to detail, our attainment and life efforts – we feed in entirety back to life as live input on more levels than we often understand. Not every soul will wake up to the truth that their ‘life is eternal’, that they’ve been here before and that they will be again, or to the truth that ‘this present life’ is their most important life yet. For some this will be hard to understand or to take on board, for others it will prove what they already know or suspect. It will reinforce what they feel deep inside. Life is not supposed to be as hard as we make it today, it’s not meant to make us all buckle or break... If you only knew how much power you wield yourself daily, you would not stress or feel fed up again. YOU create the life you live, you write your own script – with each thought, action, choice that you take. When you were young - you had dreams and goals, but when you got older you forgot what you wanted to do. At some point or another needs and live commitments over took what you wanted to become, what you wanted to happen, things overwrote the way you thought life would play out. Yet where you are today is exactly where you should be. If you removed any part of your past, or the choices or decisions you made, you would not be who you are now. You’d be different. You are who you are ‘warts’ and all, and in the big scale of life that’s exactly the way you are meant to be. Karma is built up through time... It is not necessary to know what yours looks like inside out, but it is necessary that you know it exists. You are your karma. The self you see in the mirror, how your life presents, how you interact with life and the people that surround you – all constitute the karma that helps you form you. Every day life presents you with something to utilise, to own or work through. You are what you read, what you think, what you say, what you watch on TV, the music you listen to, you are what you feed your attention and live energy into - not how you look or what others think, you are more than you see in your mirror... If life ended tomorrow would you be proud to own up to the life that you’ve built? Will you be pleased with what you’ve achieved with your efforts? In the time that you’ve been here – what will you leave

as the mark of your existence? How have you contributed to the whole and to this present time slot in history? What has been your overall theme? What will you leave for those you connect to – as loose ends that you did not complete? You are not the house or the money you own. These are there for your enjoyment, survival and pleasure. You are not your possessions or the social standing you have gained through your work. Before you were born you devised a soul agenda. Goals to reach, things to do, you wanted to explore and live life. You wanted to fall in love, to walk in the sun, to know a life on this physical Earth planet, but you birthed also to give something back. You knew in advance what life would be like in this present time frame. You knew what you’d face, your weaknesses and strengths; you saw the unrest that is evident today and what you personally would do to help change this around, adding your own talents and energy to others who would also make a difference. If life does not fuel you the way you thought it would, you are missing what you came to complete. It is a calling of the soul to wake up and play your part. It is a signal that you have something to do. In the grand scheme of life you might think that you are very small, yet you have the WHOLE WORLD – under your feet – quite literally. You have the same life force as nature itself coursing through you - day in and day out. What you believe – you feed to life as live instruction. You manifest what you are thinking about. If you feel dread and worry – more dread and worry is what you will get, if you work from a point of lack – you’ll get more. If you alter your thought pattern and work from a point of calm, trust and peace – then stress, worry, negativity, will fall away... Life really ‘is’ working with you and through you. You are being willed to succeed. Not just for yourself – but for what you will feed through your life force and efforts as your offering to the greater whole – to the planet. Imagine a store cupboard that you have been filling throughout the whole of the time that your soul has been here. You can only remove what you first have put in, through positive and negative intent and live action. You are in charge of the overall product. You are living the karma that you yourself make – but so too are others... Not all that you encounter falls to you.

Small businesses will lead the way in 2012, says company whose tenants already employ 1000 people Milton Keynes will boom in 2012, says the town’s largest serviced business premises provider, as the number of people employed in its units tops 1000 at the close of 2011. Bucks Biz, with over 400,000 square feet of space and 150 tenants in Bletchley and Denbigh, says it is already planning more units to cope with the expected growth in demand and bringing forward plans to develop extra space at the huge Interchange House in Howard Way. “Our units currently provide work for around a thousand people and we have seen that figure rise steadily,” said Dominic Muscat, a director of the company that owns the business.

Last month saw Easter recess in parliament, while some may think MPs use this as an opportunity for a couple of weeks off, I like to use it to visit as many businesses, charities and events as I possibly can.
One of the more unusual visits was to the Ladbrokes in the CentreMK. Personally, I only ever have a flutter once a year on the Grand National (I had no luck this April but fingers crossed again for next year!), but I am very aware of the real problems that can be caused for some people by betting and gambling addiction. My visit to Ladbrokes, to understand how the business works, was fascinating but I was really pleased to see how the business encourages and supports responsible betting. Social responsibility is becoming an ever increasing important part of any large business but the support Ladbrokes give to local charities which deal specifically with problems relating to gambling addiction was particularly impressive. From a betting shop to a school, my job is incredibly varied. This year marked the 15th World Book Day and was a particular success as I was invited to Greenleys School to read the Year 2’s a story, whilst in the end I ended up addressing the whole assembly I was pleased to see so many

children enjoying their books. World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and most importantly reading. The day is designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading and is currently marked in over 100 countries all over the world. Although I am not sure my narrators’ voice is quite up to scratch I really enjoyed seeing so many young children taking enjoyment from reading. I hope that they all used their £1 Book Voucher they were given and I am really impressed by the continued success of the day. I was also recently called in to meet the Prime Minister, except this time it was with slightly less trepidation than usual as “Yes, Prime Minister” was on tour to Milton Keynes Theatre. A fantastic production, I really enjoyed watching the window into the political world from the other side. I rarely get the time to go to the theatre now a days due to my busy schedule but I do love getting to the MK Theatre. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a large theatre in the city centre, which has some of the best shows come and tour straight from the West End. “Yes, Prime Minister” is a prime example and with shows like Dirty Dancing and Sister Act arriving at the MK Theatre in the next couple of months, we are extremely lucky. I for one will be trying to get to see some more shows and I hope that everyone else will take a look at the theatre’s programme. With regards to my work to in Westminster, I have had a success which I know will please many, especially in the villages around Milton Keynes. The Nunswood Windfarm, which had planning permission refused by MK Council (and two other local authorities) had the decision overturned by the planning inspector. Following conversations with the Secretary of State I am pleased to hear that the decision by the inspector has been overturned and there will now be a new planning inspector appointed to look at the original decisions made by the local authorities. This is a promising outcome to a situation which saw a slap in the face for localism. Keens Shay Keens MK beats fundraising goal for Willen Hospice The team at Keens Shay Keens MK, the Milton Keynes based accountancy firm have smashed their fundraising target for Willen Hospice, their chosen charity partner for 2011. The decision to support Willen Hospice was taken not only in honour of the Hospice’s 30th Anniversary year but to specifically help raise at least £3,000. As a result of the huge amount of activity undertaken, KSKMK have raised a fantastic £3,744 for the Hospice during 2011. This has beaten their original target by 25% and gives additional funds to the Hospice allowing them to further improve services for their patients and families. This generous amount will cover the total cost of care for 10 patients in the Hospice In-Patient Unit over a 24 hour period. The positive idea that ‘a day can make a difference’ aligns well with the firm’s own ethos of helping people prosper and gave the staff something tangible to rally around. Throughout the year, the team at KSKMK have actively supported Willen Hospice by participating in a number of fundraising events. These have included a Swimathon, the Dragon Boat Race, the MK Midnight Moo where some members of the KSKMK team walked the 10 mile route while other members helped with important marshalling duties, a Wii Challenge and assisting the Hospice with the annual Lights of Love event. KSKMK have also contributed through sponsorship of Willen’s 30th Anniversary Ball and by holding a seminar with GP’s in Stevenage in exchange for funds donated to the Hospice.

New Tribunal Rules – Help or Hindrance to Employers? New Tribunal rules came into effect on 6th April, 2012 that were designed to help employers. This has been a controversial decision which has been justified by the Government on the basis that it “encourages employers to hire new staff.” As we’ve previously mentioned, the qualifying length of service for an unfair dismissal claim increased from one to two years for all employees who join a company on or after 6th April, 2012. Any employee who joined a company prior to this date will retain their rights of a one year qualifying period. Two new pieces of legislation also came into effect on 6th April regarding Tribunal procedures with the aim of assisting employers who are involved in or could potentially be involved in a Tribunal claim. The first piece of legislation allows the Tribunal to award the Company £20,000 in respect of their legal costs (previously£10,000) where an employee loses his claim or it transpires that the employee has made false or malicious allegations. Tribunals are also being encouraged, wherever appropriate, to make a costs order.

In an attempt to speed up the Tribunal process, Tribunal judges are now permitted to take witness statements “as read” and to hear all unfair dismissal claims “sitting alone”, rather than be accompanied by two lay panel members as previously. This will allow valuable Tribunal time to be freed up but may be a disadvantage in that only one person will now decide on the outcome of an unfair dismissal claim. Finally, the maximum deposit a party can be ordered to pay as a condition of being allowed to proceed with Tribunal proceedings has been increased from £500 to £1,000 which may result in a claimant withdrawing their claim. The Tribunal can also insist that the parties involved pay or reimburse any expenses that the witnesses may have which would increase overall costs. On the whole, we consider these changes will be a help to employers as the threat of being faced with up to £20,000 costs may be enough to prevent an employee from making a claim.
