I am an Egyptian architect. During the university I have been involved in continuous learning and development, not only because it would advance my career, but also because I find real value in everything I do. As a mature team player, I adapt to all difficult situations. I am a collaborative team player who is always searching for opportunities to impart valuable insights.

Hence I decided to join many competitions international and local, awarded the first prize for the most of them “ NBH creativity youth award, ABU SIMBEL 50 award, MAHALLY award “ to enhance my career in different fields of design.

After graduating, I sought my ambitions to work in the field of education, to convey knowledge and enthusiasm towards architecture. I joined the well-established international design firm in Egypt, Dar Al Handasa, where I learned much about the dynamics of how mega projects are executed through different phases.

Today - one year after graduating - I am realizing much of my dreams and ambitions.

Nonetheless, this is ever more stimulating me for more!

El Alamein is the place where a number of countries in the world gathered as two teams, the Allied team and the Axis team in the second world war, and many soldiers fell, and it is the place where a large number of burials for the two teams were due to the war. It is the same place where the world will meet as two teams, also the leaders and Young people to understand and interact with each other to solve problems and to dominate peace between us, and also because El Alamein is a new, young city with international leadership centers and thirdly, the presence of services and adequate insurance for the presence of world leaders in this place

Now more than ever before, youth all over the world are facing change and complexity — the coronavirus pandemic has presented us all with new challenges, new circumstances, and new uncertainties. So, we believe that adaptability is the key. It’s a requirement. Because change is constant and inevitable, new generations must be flexible to succeed. And also architecture!

Our project is an ever-changing layered platform for the youth. It aims towards creating an atmosphere that inspires them, dig deep into their own genes and guide them to become more adaptable. They will better embrace the opportunities of the evolving world.

SUSTAINABILITY

A 3D MESH HAS BEEN ADDED TO HARMONIZE WITH THE PIXELATED PLATFORM. IT PROVIDES FLEXIBILITY OF SPACES AS WE CAN FILL THE MESH WITH FUTURISTIC EXTENSIONS. IT ALSO PLAYS AN IMPORTANT RULE IN PROVIDING SHADE DUE TO BAHRAIN’S WEATHER. GREEN AREAS HAVE BEEN ADDED INTO THE MESH AND THE ROOF .

FACADE

DUE TO BAHRAIN’S WEATHER, DOUBLE SKIN TREATMENT HAS BEEN USED IN THE FACADES. LOUVERS ARE ADDED TO THE DOUBLE GLAZING, WHILE CREATING GREEN AREAS IN THE ROOF TO REDUCE HEAT GAIN AND CARBON EMISSIONS TO AFFECT THE OUTSIDE .

ADAPTABILITY IS ACHIEVED BY :

- FLEXIBLE PROGRAM THAT CAN CONTINUOUSLY ADAPT ITS SPACE LAYOUT AND EVEN ITS STRUCTURE TO EVOLVING NEEDS.

- NET MESH STRUCTURE FOR MANY VARIOUS USES AND ACTIVITIES.

- PARAMETRIC CURVED PLANES AS A GATHERING ZONES WITH VERY SPECIAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE YOUTH.

- ADDING FUTURISTIC GUIDELINES THAT ARISES FROM THE MESH FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF FUTURISTIC EXTENSION.

03 ROSETTA COMPETITION

The city of Rashid and its castle were chosen to be the subject of the study and to realize the proposed idea. Rashid is characterized by its rich heritage and history full of stories and anecdotes, and its distinguished location that made it a center for trade and industry. The city also enjoys its economic fame in the field of fish farming recently and shipbuilding in the past. It also contains in its heart and on the outskirts many ancient buildings and mosques of historical importance and distinctive urban style.

one of the most important buildings located in Rosetta is the Mini Castle of Rashid, which remained witness to the events of the French campaign against Egypt and the discovery of the Rosetta Stone. tourism in proportion to its history and location.

Rashid is one of Egypt’s historical cities whose origins go back to the pharonic era with multiple historical layers being added through time . And like Rashid’s castle many other monuments are gradually disappearing due to lack of touristic services and infrastructure . Our proposal aims to transform the castle into a cultural hub promoting the city’s heritage crafts and using it as a beacon of major reform in the city through a touristic axis connecting the castle to the city . The proposal mainly works on 3 major areas : Rashid city . The castle and its surroundings , the area in between .

COMPUTATIONAL DESIGN INCREMENTUM COMPETITION

Back to nature’s most abstract process which is incrementum (aka. growth). we find in nature that everything grows when given a set of inputs based on its environment to ultimately lead to a product that has little to no negative impact on its surrounding. Our proposal explores the most basic principles that creates life and the idea of a shift towards enabling a building to grow rather than being constructed using traditional methods.

We established the rules governing growth to simulate the growth of COVID-19 in a building and determined the state of the cells to infected or non- infected. Spaces will be created in non-infected cells to lower the probability of infection. In the case of other future pandemics rules, states, cells and their neighborings can be ultered to match its growth.
