I am passionate about enriching my studies in the most diversified way, as every place and person percieves architecture their own way. Through architecture I am able to connect with cultures, stories, places, history but most importantly with people. I’m driven by everything that comes within architecture: traveling, building, learning, sharing, creating.

Located in an important cultural site in Monterrey, Mexico, the ALFA masterplan embraces the ALFA planetarium, the preexisting element of the site, and preserves predominant natural elements to create a district that encourages safe recreational spaces, cultural learning, and working spaces for anyone in the city.
4
As a first approach to the project, collages of case studies were made to visually understand intentions, spaces, and uses that could make up an adequate masterplan for the site.
5
The master plan is made up of a balance between diverse types of activities; exterior and interior, as well as public and private ones to make up a complete project. The master plan respects all of the existing trees on the site, which result in a low construction percentage in respect to the whole site.

ALFA masterplan encourages users to experience multiple types of interactions; through events in the Tamayo Pavillion, through food in the commercial corridor, and through art in the Stained Glass Pavillion. All incorporating nature as a backdrop.

3. Stained Glass Pavillion
Public spaces like the screening forum make the master plan permeable to any user passing by and invite them to engage in multiple activities going on farther into the master plan.
Congress center encourages events like weddings, expos, and indoor markets to take place. This way, along with low-scale commerce, ALFA is can be visited many times to live different experiences by the same users.

The linear park is one of the multiple recreational spaces inside the master plan for both old and young. Apart from providing safe and calm spaces inside a busy city like Monterrey, the ALFA masterplan takes nature as the main character.

ALFA
As a continuation of ALFA’s masterplan, the existing planetarium was intervened to give it a new meaning, one that would be adequate to current needs of the city: a space for experimentation, technology, and cultural spread.
14
The ALFA planetarium originally hosted the first IMAX hall in the country, and also served as the first interactive museum in the city, making it a reference project not only because of its program but also because of its complex slanted cylindrical form. Thus the decision to keep the shell and re-image what could happen on the inside.
17
PRE EXISTENCE
First explorations for the ALFA intervention were made through collages, where intentions like atriums, circulation and structure where brainstormed and subsequently incorporated to the project
18
INTENTIONS
An extension was made to the original shell of the planetarium to host the new program of both the existing and new building: design experimentation labs, workshops, office and gallery spaces, cultural collection, restaurants, and screening halls.
The structure for the extension is made up of tinted concrete frames.
