“How to improve the Chilean education system” Introduction: Chile has been recently affected by a spate of social strikes with a little politic influence because we want to say we are not satisfied about the education that the State gives to the people, because it is unequal and incomplete. There is a group of ideas that I can give to improve the chilean education system like the following: The PSU score for the teaching career must be the highest ones to make sure that the professional that they are educating will be the best. Well know is the typical story about the student that got a bad score on the PSU so he or she decided to study pedagogy. This is something that we have to change, because that’s why those professional are mediocre. Primary school’s teachers should know about children’s psychology. Teacher that has to raise little kids should know how to deal with them kindly to make easier the learning process, making them feel beloved.
It should be eliminated the PSU system. That absurd test should be eliminated because it is only a filter and a supposed tool that discriminate against the people depending on their social and financial level, not evaluating your knowledge or potential as a professional. The suggestion list could be much longer, but for that, first, we need to transmit the desires of justice to the people that have a louder voice in the country, the ones that are called “the authority”.
