The 2025 Miss Palmer Hills & Miss Palmer Hill's Teen Competition is set for Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Davenport Junior Theatre in Davenport, IA. Morning interviews will take place at CoWorkQC (102 E 2nd St. Davenport, IA)
We are thrilled to welcome you to our second annual competition, continuing the proud mission of the Miss America Opportunity and Miss Iowa Organization.
This competition guide is designed to be a valuable resource, offering a comprehensive overview of the phases of competition, score distribution, required paperwork, and ad page details It also highlights important deadlines to ensure you're fully prepared for the event on November 24.
The Phases of Competition include: Private Interview, On-Stage Conversation, Health & Fitness, and Talent or HER Story™ and Evening Gown.

omprising 30% of a delegate's score, the n-minute interview (30 second opening atement & 30 second closing statement) rovides insight into the delegate's ability fulfill the responsibilities of a local leholder. You will submit a one-page act Sheet and Community Service Essay at will guide the interview. It gives the dges the opportunity to learn about your nique qualities, commitment to advance our community service initiative, ccomplishments beyond your fact sheet, nd your personal beliefs. Comprising 10% of a delegate's score, the On-Stage Conversation question is a single question asked on stage regarding the delegate's community service initiative. A delegate will have thirty seconds to respond to the question.
Comprising 20% of a delegate's score, the Health & Fitness Competition is where the delegate showcases her commitment to these health and fitness initiatives.
Here, a delegate will model RED Rebel wear on stage for 20-30 seconds. Judges will consider the first impression of a dynamic presence, high energy, engaging vitality and a sense of confidence
The Miss America and Miss America's Teen Organizations are partnered with the American Heart Association to promote the importance of women's heart health. The Miss America Organization launched a collection with Rebel Athletic for Health & Fitness wardrobe.

Comprising 20% of a delegate's score, the 90-second talent or HER Story™ competition allows insight into the candidate’s preparatory and performance skills. Talent may be either (1) a performance talent or (2) a HER Story™ presentation. Performance talents include vocal, dance, instrumental, gymnastics, twirling, speed-painting, monologues or spoken words, etc. HER Story™ presentations are an opportunity for a delegate to share a 90-second story that provides insight into the delegate's background.
The talent presentation, overall performance, and technical ability and skill are taken into consideration.

All delegates are required to register for a membership to the Miss America Program Membership gives you access to exclusive member benefits as well as the ability to compete in local competitions. The membership fee is $39.99. All delegates are also required to raise $30 per local for the American Heart Association.
All paperwork, headshots, and talent music should be submitted via Google Drive, email, or in person by no later than the deadline noted
We will need a high-resolution headshot in .jpg format for the digital program book. Please do not send any images sized smaller than 3 x 5 inches. If so, the resolution of your headshot may not be satisfactory in the program book.
Please ensure that your talent music does NOT exceed 90 seconds We strongly encourage that no two delegates use the same song for production purposes. To ensure this happens, please be prompt turning in your paperwork and music selection.
Submit an electronic copy (preferably .pdf format) of the delegate Information Form, Judges Fact Sheet, Community Service Initiative (CSI) Essay, signed copy of the delegate contract, & scholarship rules to the Google Drive or email to misspalmerhills@gmail.com. Interviews will take place at CoWorkQC (102 East 2nd St, Davenport, IA) Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled interview time A interview schedule will be posted in the Palmer Hills Class page closer to the competition date.
There will be a 5 judges on the local judging panel The interview will be a total of 10 minutes per delegate with a 30 second opening, 9 minutes Q&A, and optional 30 second wrap up or closing statement standing behind a podium. Judges will be sent your paperwork ahead of time so questions could be from your paperwork, current events, your plans for the future, etc. They want to get to know you.
Delegates will arrive at Davenport Junior Theatre at to check in and move into the dressing room. After move in will gather inside the theatre for a welcome and orientation meeting with the PH Board of Directors.
We will run through opening number, walking patterns, awards + crowning Each delegate will rehearse her talent presentation on stage in full costume, with music. Each delegate will have the opportunity to run their talent twice.
Please bring only the necessities and label ALL items you bring with you
There will be plenty of mirrors in the dressing room, but very limited hanging space. If needed, please bring clothing rack. Only delegates are allowed in the dressing room, aside from move in. ALL MOMS will be dismissed from the backstage area, before the doors open, no exceptions.
Please refrain from food outside of clear liquids and non-messy snacks in the dressing rooms
Please dispose of ALL trash following the competition
