The New Shul Menorah Icon
The
icon of the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash was the removal of the menorah. This scene is carved into stone on the Arch of Titus in Rome, erected to commemorate the capture of Yerushalayim. It depicts the army of the Roman General Titus carrying the menorah out of the Bais Hamikdash, the beginning of some 2500 years of Jewish golus. The new Shul Menorah, depicted below, is the icon of returning the menorah to mikdoshei me’at all over the world. It represents a tefillah that Hashem should soon send the final redemption, which will be accompanied by peace for everyone, something only Hashem can accomplish, as apparent in the current era of world unrest, violence and war. The Pirsum Shul Menorah, now two years old, is proud of its success in returning many shuls to their former glory as the beacon of light for the pirsum haneis. Until the entry of the Pirsum Menorah, only a handful of elite shuls had appropriately sized shul menoros, as they were difficult to come by. Boruch Hashem, with the appearance of the new menoros, dozens of shuls in the US, Eretz Yisroel, and other countries have taken advantage of the opportunity to restore the dignity and grandeur that this mitzvah deserves. The menorah is not only elegant and beautiful to behold, but its practical lighting design is a

“gabbai’s delight.” The cups were engineered to accept virtually any oil or candle; however, using Pirsum Menorah’s specially designed oil lamps adds a new dimension of beauty and ease of use. The lamps are ready to light, the wicks light easily, and the flame remains proudly flickering for up to 26 hours. It requires no maintenance whatsoever and can be lit and re-lit as often as desired. When the oil is depleted, the lamp is discarded and a new one dropped in its place. This year, a brass finish version is available, as well as 7 hour oil modules. An engraving area designed for dedications and a removable elegant candle holder in a matching design to be used for the shames are other enhancements.
