WHAT’S HAPPENING AT PSA!
![]()
Hello Park Street families and staff! It has been a while since I sent a From the Director’s Desk email out so I thought I would try this cool magazine format. (Thank you, Sherlene Ayala, for this suggestion!) I hope you enjoy the first edition of Park Street Times magazine.
Happy reading!!!
These girls are on fire!!!! Sherlene and Leila, our PAC CoChairs are unstoppable and are at it again! Thanks to their hard work and everyone’s support, there are so many things to look forward to in the upcoming months. Be sure to download and read the PAC Newsletter to read about all of the amazing events!
There will be plenty of love in the air when Valentine’s Day
arrives here at school. Classes are making beautiful art projects and bulletin board displays and everyone is looking forward to their class parties!
We are so excited to celebrate our students this year in our Spring Showcase! On Friday, March 24th, PSA kids will show off their talent with a song and dance for the most special people to see…YOU!!! The performance will take place in the gymnasium, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!
What makes conferences different at PSA?
Well…it’s all about your child and not just academically. Your child’s teachers will sit with you to discuss all of the domains of early childhood…social, emotional, cognitive and physical with you. You will see evidence-based growth in all of these areas through pictures, work samples, NJ Core Curriculum, observations, check lists and objective as well as subjective evaluations and insights. Within minutes into your conference, you will know your child’s teacher(s) truly know your special student.
We are so excited to announce our participation in this year’s Pride Festival on Saturday, June 10th! Our love and support for the Montclair community has always been a huge part of Park Street Academy. We look forward to being a part of this communitywide event. Stay tuned for more information about where our tent will be.
We also can’t wait to have our own Love is Love parade here at school! Students and teachers will parade around the field (church lawn) proudly waving flags and posters. Our Pride Parade will take place on Friday, June 9th at 10am. Parents are invited to cheer us on and join the PAC Breakfast prior to the parade. We hope you can make it!
As Spring draws near, so does our Annual Teacher Appreciation Week, May 22-25. As you can imagine, our teachers really look forward to a special week of love and appreciation. The week is filled with beautiful notes and pictures from students, as well as amazing treats like a staff breakfast, small gifts, pampering experiences and the culmination of a staff luncheon. PAC always does an amazing job making our teachers feel so special, and this year will be no different. Please be on the lookout for ways YOU can help our fabulous cochairs!
Senior classes have been working all year on creating masterpieces and Friday evening, June 2 at 7pm, it is their time to shine! Join us for a celebration of your artist as we display their works of art.
Graduation is always bittersweet with an abundance of pride and joy! It’s always hard to say goodbye to our graduates and families as they move on to their next educational journey.
On Thursday, June 16, we will be celebrating the growth and accomplishments of our Senior students. If you are a Senior parent, sibling and/or grandparent, you are invited to see your special graduate walk adorned in their cap and gown, sing a graduation song and celebrate with refreshments after the program! I will be sure to send more information as the event draws closer.
As time quickly passes, we are already planning for our spectacular seven-week Summer Camp program!
Registration will begin Monday, February 13 for current and in-coming families. We are excited for our awesome theme weeks, including Sports Spectacular, Bluey Week, Rock & Roll Week, Wacky Week, Spiderman Week, World Traveler Week & Carnival Week! All campers
have arts & crafts, water play, camp songs, and exciting thematic activities! Every week, the entire camp celebrates Spirit Week where bunks present their bunk song and banner and end with a Spirit Week ice cream party! Campers who are 4 and 5 will go to the Park Street YMCA for instructional swim classes two times a week and enjoy water play on our spacious playground three times a week! Look for the camp brochure in your cubby this week!
