You Will Backslide Take a sheet of notebook paper and fold it in half long ways. Then, unfold it.

they allow God to write their love stories? Will there be any faith on the earth?

On one side list your needs and desires in life. List the things necessary to sustain life and the things you’d like to have or achieve in life. Be very honest with yourself.

2 Chronicles 16:9: “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.”

Think of and include all you’ll need to do or have to accomplish these goals. Like, if you need food and shelter, you need a job or some means of support.

In order to live physically, you must breathe. This is something your body does automatically on its own. It is so natural, thoughtless, and effortless, that you do it while you sleep.

Now on the other side of the paper, list all the reasons why people backslide or give up on God. We understand there’s no justifiable reason, but what are some of the things the enemy tempts or threatens them with to make them lose their focus on God?

In order for you to stay alive spiritually, you must trust God. Your reliance, your dependency, and your instinct must be to call on God.

People leave God because of something they want or don’t want.

Hebrews 10:38: “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

You’re going to live and die on the basis of your reliance on God.

“I don’t want to be an old spinster, so bye.” “I’m not going to have all these people keep looking at me funny and whispering behind my The problem comes in with this: we have things we want for our lives and things we deback!” “I’m tired of living this way! I’ll do whatever I have to do to make my life better.” sire, but in order to get these things, we must wait on God. We must rely on God and follow His leading and guidance. Luke 18:8: “…When the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” Now, sometimes when people hear this, they think you’re taking away ambition or drive by Will anyone trust God, look to God, or allow saying wait, pray, and acknowledge God, but God to bring them out of their situations? Will we’re saying that the Word of God teaches they allow God to provide for their needs? Will submission to God’s will. This requires a seekCopyright Mission Globe 2013

You Will Backslide ing of God’s will as it relates to our personal lives.

Some think that they’ll miss out on opportunities while they wait to hear from God. God is not and should not be far from us. It should not be a hard thing to seek Him. We should already be living by His Word and His instruction should daily be our guide. Therefore it should be no great feat to know what He would have you to do. God delights to tell you His will and direct you in the way you should go. Our flesh is the only thing that causes uncertainty and confusion in knowing and doing God’s will. Our will is all that gets in the way of getting God’s will clear for our lives.

Ye are not your own to do with as you please. You belong to God and are His to direct as He pleases. It’s not our job to take care of our own selves, but God provides for us. We don’t care for ourselves, but God cares for us.

1 Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”

Now, this is not an out for the sluggard or the irresponsible. God always provides according to the principles laid out in His word.

Proverbs 13:11: “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.”

Colossians 3:3: “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”

Do not look for your blessing to come while you sit at home doing nothing. God will bless In essence that is no different than saying, “… you with a job, with work, and with labor. So, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, go ahead and look for employment opportunities. Yet, before you go out or before you surf or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the job sites online, pray, seek God, and in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct meat, and the body than raiment” (Matthew thy path. 6:25)?

Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The problem is submitting yourself to God’s will, God’s plan, and God’s direction for your life.

Again, let’s add supporting text: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says “…ye are not your own… ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and spirit, which are God’s.”

We must see ourselves as being owned by God. We must sell out, give all we have, bankrupt ourselves, and allow God to have His way entirely in our hearts and lives.
