Introduction A preacher of God's Word must have full assurance and confidence on the Bible that he is using to live by it and to preach to others. We cannot have assurance of our faith unless we believe that the Bible is true and trustworthy and that it is the Word of God.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 10:22 KJV We receive faith through hearing the Word of God and and by believing, we are saved through faith.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

Our faith continues to grow as we study His words and rely on them. We Christians are commanded to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ ( 2 Peter 3: 18).

God's Word is the Spirit's instrument in bringing sinners into conviction of their sins, and as the Gospel is preached, condemned sinners find hope in Christ alone. The Bible declares that all men are sinners and in need of salvation.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 KJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16 KJV Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 1:23 KJV What if somebody will ask you a question while you are holding your Bible, “Is that Bible that you are holding the Word of God?” Can you confidently say,

“Yes, this is the Word of God.” If he asks, “Is that perfect?”. Can you confidently say, “Yes”.

If you do not have confidence in the Bible that you are using and you would say, “This contains the Word of God and there are many errors in it” then how would others learn to trust God's Word? They would say, “As we read the Bible, we really do not know if we are reading an erroneous portion or it is the truth”. Such will confuse the lost sinner as well as the believers.

I believe that the Bible is God's Word and is trustworthy. He has preserved His word and His words are true and faithful.

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Psalms 19:7 KJV As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. Psalms 18:30 KJV Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Why I use and preach from the KJV Bible

1.

It supports the fact that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. He is both God and man.

Other versions such as the NIV, ASV, GNT, NASB, etc. do not even mention Jesus as God in that particular verse.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”.

1 Tim. 3: 16

It supports the fact that Jesus is born of a virgin. Isaiah 7:14. Other versions have "young woman" such as NRSV, REB. “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

It supports the fact that Joseph is not Christ's real father. Luke 2:33. KJV stated "Joseph" but other versions such as the NIV states "The child's father".

“And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him”.

It supports the fact that Christ is eternal.

Micah 5:2 tells us that Jesus is from everlasting.

That means He is without a beginning. Other versions such as the Good News Translation and NIV imply that Jesus is just from “ancient times” while the New Revised Standard Version states “ancient days”.

“But thou, Beth–lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”

It supports the fact that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, existed in the Old Testament times.

Daniel 3:25. Other versions such as the NIV, NASB, NWT, have stated "a son of the gods" but the KJV stated "The Son of God".

“He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God”.

It supports the fact that redemption and forgiveness of sins is through the blood of Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:14. Other versions omitted the words "through his blood".

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” Colossians 1:14

It supports the fact that Christ is God and He will be the one to judge at the "Judgment Seat of Christ", Romans 14:10. Other versions have "God's judgment seat" (NIV) and "Judgment seat of God" (NASB, NRSV).

“But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.”

It supports the fact that faith in Christ is a requisite to baptism in water. Acts 8:37. Other versions have the entire verse missing.

“And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” Acts 8:37

It supports the Biblical fact that there are so called "science" but are erroneous teachings. I Timothy 6:20. An example of this is the Evolution Theory which many people call science but is a false teaching. The NKJV replaced the word "science" with "knowledge".

“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:” I Timothy 6:20

It supports the fact that a heretic must be rejected, not just a divisive person. Titus 3:10.

Other versions replaced the word "heretic" with the word "divisive". Such is favorable to the ecumenical because they will only reject those who will cause division in their unity but won't reject the heretic.

“A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject.”

It supports the fact that believers must STUDY the Word of God carefully with an analytical mind in order to have a proper understanding of God's word. II Timothy 2:15.

Other versions omitted the word "study". This is the only verse in the New Testament where the word "study" is being commanded.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

II Timothy 2:15

It supports the fact that God's words are preserved forever. Psalm 12:6-7. Other versions such as the NIV, NASB, NRSV, NAB, etc. have changed the meaning of the context making you think that in verse 7 the context is God's people instead of God's words.

“The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them”.

It supports the fact that men must teach the truth and must not corrupt the Word of God. II Corinthians 2:17. Other versions changed the word "corrupt" to "peddle" (NIV), "peddlers"(NRSV), "peddling" (NASB).

“For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”

II Corinthians 2:17

It is harmonious to the Biblical fact that Mary had other children by Joseph because of the word "firstborn". Jesus is the firstborn of Mary in her virginity and did not remain to be a perpetual virgin. See also Matthew 13:55. Other versions have omitted the word "firstborn" in Matthew 1:25.

“And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.” Matthew 1:25

It supports the doctrine of the Trinity. 1 John 5: 7. God manifested Himself in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is also called, “The Word” in John 1:1-3, 14.

Other versions have the verse, 1 John 5: 7 missing.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

It proves the truth that Jesus is God and is coming again. Revelation 11:17. Other versions omitted "art to come".

“Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.”

It proves the fact that Christ is going to defeat and conquer the kingdoms of this world and such kingdoms will become His kingdoms.

Revelation 11:15 speaks about the kingdoms of this world, (plural) not the kingdom of the world (singular).

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”

It proves that Jesus is not just a man, rather He is God who became man as you read I John 4:3 and relate it with John 1:1-3 and verse 14.

“And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

I John 4:3

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

John 1:1-3 KJV

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

John 1:14 KJV

Take note that in the New World Translation Bible of the Jehovah's Witnesses Cult, Watch Tower Society, the verse in John 1:1 states, “the Word was a god”.

It proves the fact that Jesus is not an archangel as the "Jehovah Witnesses" cult believes. But He is God who chose to become man and to have the nature of man as the phrase in Hebrews 2:16 says, "...he took on him the seed of Abraham". Compare with Hebrews 2:14, 17; 5:4, Philippians 2:7). Other versions have the meaning that Jesus just helped the descendants of Abraham.

“For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.”

Hebrews 2:16 “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;” Hebrews 2:14

“Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”

Hebrews 2:17 “And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.”

Hebrews 5:4 “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:” Philippians 2:7

It supports the fact that the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer will not lead him to do, speak anything, or pray something out of his mind or without proper understanding. The charismatics and the Pentecostals today claim that when one is filled with the Spirit, he can pray without understanding it. But such practice is unscriptural. (II Timothy 1:7, I Corinthians 14:15, & Mark 12:30,33).

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

II Timothy 1:7 “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”

I Corinthians 14:15 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

“And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

It is shows us that the Bible is harmonious because it teaches that Jesus Christ is the bright and MORNING STAR according to Revelation 22:16 (KJV) but Lucifer is "Son of the morning" according to Isaiah 14:12 (KJV). However other versions have Satan also called "Morning Star" in Isaiah 14:12.

“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”

Revelation 22:16 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!”

It supports the truth that God is glorified in the church founded by Christ Jesus, not in the churches founded by men. Ephesians 3:21.

“Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.

Amen.”

23. It supports the fact that a newly born again person must grow by God's word. I Peter 2:2. But other versions such as the Today's English Version (TEV) mentioned that one must grow to be saved.

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” I Peter 2:2
