The hospital buildings and staff accommodation are in one large compound making it a safe, close knit community with a wonderful Christian atmosphere.

“If you are planning an elective you will certainly get plenty of hands on experience - running clinics and even some surgery!” Rosy -

Former Elective Student

Founded in the 1940’s in response to the needs of those suffereing from leprosy, Holley Memorial is recognised by the Nigerian Government as a place of excellence in the treatment of leprosy.

Today the hospital has grown to be a medium sized general hospital, providing specialist services in surgery, maternity and obstetrics, orthopaedics, ophthalmics and caring for an increasing number suffering from TB and HIV/AIDS. An outpatients department cares for a growing population. Alongside all this, faithful witness is given to Jesus Christ through word and action.

FOR HOW LONG:

The hospital is suitable for up to 3-4 elective students at any one time. For projects and reports it is not usually suitable for statistical studies, as there is not a broad enough patient pool. This hospital has hosted numerous electives over the years and is a good option to experience African medicine.

ACCOMODATION:

Accommodation and meals can be provided at the hospital guesthouse on the grounds of the hospital.
