PREVIOUS ELECTIVES...

Sarah Morrison Holley Memorial Hospital Nursing

“Nursing in Nigeria is very different to that of the UK. Instead of simply putting your hand on the necessary drugs or equipment , you need to think of alternatives they were not available for treatment. But one of the main differences is being able to openly share the love of Jesus with those in your care every day. To me that’s where we fall down with our care of patients here.”

Dr Rebecca Dodds Kikuyu Hospital Medicine

“One of the benefits of a medical career is the opportunities to travel and work abroad. My experience of serving as a medic in a low resource setting has been challenging and rewarding. I’ve been exposed to medical conditions, social conditions, and limitations which I’ve never come across in a developed country, broadening my medical knowledge and experience.”

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive' - Acts 20:35

There is no greater privilege than being able to use the gifts Christ has given you to serve Him than by serving others. By choosing to do your elective with Mission Africa, you will not only get the opportunity to work in the hospitals, but you will find joy in sharing the love of Jesus through serving the sick. Once you have decided to do your elective with us what does this look like practically?
