Dear Mission ONE Family,
As we reflect on the growth we’ve seen so far this year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your steadfast support and partnership in our mission to transform communities to reflect the Kingdom of God. Your generosity is enabling us to make a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals, families, and communities.
Together, we are witnessing lives transformed, hope restored, and communities revitalized Through your contributions, we are providing essential resources and supporting programs and initiatives that address the diverse needs of those we serve We are seeing churches planted where there were none before and people experience the life-changing power of the gospel for the first time.
With your continued support, we’re confident that we can build upon the foundation we have laid and bring about even greater transformation in the days ahead all in the name of Jesus.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
–Matthew 5:16
As we move forward, we’re filled with determination and passion to continue this vital work. Thank you for standing with us, believing in our vision, and making a difference in the lives of so many. We’re thankful for who you are and your partnership in this Kingdom impact.
Together we are changing the world, one community at a time. It’s an honor to serve with you!
With heartfelt appreciation,
Our mission is to partner with the Global Church in making communities more like the Kingdom of God.
We envision a world where every community is transformed for the glory of God and the honor of all peoples.
In trusting partnerships with local leaders around the world, we listen to the communities they’re serving and identify their greatest needs
We work together to plan and implement projects that aim to transform communities from the inside out and support the longterm impact of the local church. Whether it be through a small business, medical clinic, school, vocational skills training center, or immediate relief, we seek to meet both physical and spiritual needs of rural and urban communities through the local church.
We develop training resources and network with organizations to support our local partners as well as other leaders in the Global Church. We emphasize the gospel of Christ restoring honor to all peoples for the glory of God.
We partner with the Global Church to transform communities through the local church.

women through the transformative & invaluable impact of a sewing ministry
In places like Eldoret, women are often silenced and overlooked in a society dominated by patriarchal norms. Within such structures, men hold authority while the presence of women is minimized in community settings. Excluded from opportunities and education systems, women find themselves subject to abuse and violence, and trapped within generational cycles of poverty
Amidst these challenges, a sewing ministry shines bright as a beacon of hope With your support, the building for this project is about halfway completed
We are currently seeking to raise the remaining funds to complete the interior of the center and officially launch this project.
The training will span six months and will host around 15 women for the first cohort. Our local leader of the ministry, Janet, faithfully spends her time mentoring and praying with women in her community and local church many of whom will participate in the training.
This program will also be open to the wives of our local missionaries, giving them invaluable skills to earn a dignified income and provide for their families This supports our desire to create a self-sustaining framework for our network of missionaries in order to preserve the impact of the ministry for generations to come
Hope is being woven into the fabric of society, thanks to your dedicated support of Mission ONE
The program will also include other vocational skills training including hairstyling, braiding, and basket weaving. When the training is complete, the women will have gained the skills necessary to start their own businesses, or join a co-op which will be housed inside the sewing center.
Providing this option after graduation allows the women to continue together in the community that they formed It also enables them to work towards reinvesting in the ministry itself and the women entering the training after them
Because of this project, women will not only learn a trade, they will discover their potential and reclaim their identities as daughters in the Kingdom. This ministry will serve as a safe space for them to grow, learn, and connect with others who share similar journeys.
It will be a community built on mutual support and shared dreams, where every woman is valued, respected, and plays a vital role in both society and the Kingdom.
Mission ONE has partnered with local leaders in Eldoret since 2000. Led by Janet and her uncle, their focus is on mentoring, discipling, and equipping local leaders to empower communities through their work in education, healthcare, and church planting. They have a team of 12 missionaries who travel to remote villages to share the gospel with unreached people groups. After her uncle’s retirement in August, Janet will take over as Director of the ministry.
“We are touching the heartbeat of God! With this attitude we will accomplish much in the Kingdom. We will reach these communities! Thank you for your kindness and healthy partnership! Thank you for honoring me!”
JanetOur local leader of the sewing ministry, Janet, plays a vital role in her community, church, and as a leader of the local ministry. We’re thrilled to report that Janet has recently been chosen to take over as Director of the ministry after her uncle retires in August. We wholeheartedly believe in Janet’s leadership and we’re praising God that her devotion to the ministry is being recognized and celebrated
As Director, she will oversee our network of missionaries as well as the operations of the sewing ministry and the car rental Praise God the car rental continues to thrive as a service to the community and a source of sustainable income for the ministry itself.
“Much is happening with the ministry, and we’re excited to see how God will continue to move us forward.”
Local leader of the car rental and newly named Project Manager of the ministry
The building for the sewing ministry is halfway completed. We’re currently seeking to raise the remaining funds to finish constructing the inside of the building.
We will begin with 3-4 teachers and around 15 women for the first cohort of the sewing ministry.
Seven jobs have been created from the car rental.
The car rental makes an average of $1,500 per month and continues to contribute to the ongoing needs of the ministry.
LEARN HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT WOMEN LIKE JANE!
Jane and her husband moved to Eldoret a few years ago. They made an intentional effort to find community in the local church, but were met with shame and exclusion.
When the leaders found out they didn’t have much money to give the church, they were dismissed from the community.
It wasn’t until Janet met Jane and invited her and her family to their church that they experienced true community, rooted in the love of the gospel, for the first time.
While the local church was able to meet her family’s immediate needs, the sewing ministry will give her a chance to earn a dignified income for her family through the skills she will learn.
South Sudan’s humanitarian crisis met with compassion & faith
Because of our incredible supporters of Mission ONE, we were able to raise $32,904. These funds are being used by our local partners and network of missionaries in South Sudan to purchase and distribute food to those facing lifethreatening malnutrition. Working in tandem with the local church, we are sharing the love and compassion of God with those navigating the trauma of displacement and loss.
Since the start of the war in Sudan over a year ago, approximately 640,000 people have fled to South Sudan in search of safety. According to the UNHCR, 1,800 are still arriving daily.
This influx has placed additional strain on already overstretched resources and infrastructure Poor conditions and severe food insecurity faced by millions of vulnerable individuals and families have exacerbated this deepening humanitarian crisis marked by chaos, violence, and further displacement
In an effort to come alongside our local ministry partner in the midst of this crisis, we launched a relief campaign earlier this year to provide lifesaving food and supplies to those affected most.
“I would like to give millions of thanks to our Mission ONE team in the USA for extending a helping hand!”
Pastor Pious
Mission ONE has partnered with local leaders in South Sudan since 1992. Pastor Pious, who was mentored by the founder of our partner organization, oversees the operations of the ministry as he seeks to extend the reach of the gospel in his wartorn country through the establishment of local churches Within this time, our ministry expanded to Uganda, where many refugees from South Sudan have fled from the war
How a chicken business is reviving hope and transforming an entire community
In Uganda, our local partner residing in the Kiryandongo Refugee Camp, Pastor Thomas, remains faithful in his leadership of the church and the chicken project. This project began with the purchase of 300 chickens, thanks to your support. To date, over 2,000 chickens have been sold through this business!
The chickens are raised and sold to the community as an affordable source of food, and to others who in turn roast the chickens themselves and sell them in the market Many in the community have started their own small businesses doing this, sustaining both families and the local economy.
The generated revenue from this project consistently supports three local churches in the camp, employs three individuals, and covers the tuition fees for five of Pastor Thomas’ children to attend school, and four more who he has taken in.
While we currently raise 600 chickens at a time, this year, we’ve expanded the space occupied by this project with a plan to grow and raise 1,000 chickens at a time This would in turn create more jobs, allow us to hire a manager, and enable the project to begin contributing to the broader needs of the ministry across both South Sudan and Uganda.
The impact of the chicken project extends far beyond financial gains. It’s a catalyst for community development, fostering a sense of purpose and hope among the refugees.
Pastor Thomas spends each Saturday hosting free trainings to teach others how to start their own chicken businesses.
Earlier this year, Pastor Thomas was invited by the government in South Sudan to speak at a conference about the poultry business and peace in the country. These training opportunities are opening doors for relationships to grow and the gospel to be shared as people are hearing more about the blessing the chicken project has been on the community.
Werner Mischke, Mission ONE Vice President and leader of our Training Ministry, has also been providing our partner with training materials to encourage and equip him as he leads the local church.
Last December, Werner provided him with a sermon series on the dynamics of honor and shame and the gospel, and he was able to share it with his congregations over the Advent season
Currently, they are going through Werner’s book, The Global Gospel: Achieving Missional Impact in Our Multicultural World and engaging in meaningful conversations about how to share the gospel in his own cultural context in Uganda.
The income from the chicken project is covering the tuition for five of Pastor Thomas’ children, and four more who he has taken in.
This project employs three individuals.
Three local churches, where 250 refugees collectively gather to worship each week, are supported by the revenue generated from this project
Our local partner continues to train other pastors and leaders on how the chicken business has been a blessing to the community.
How a local Bible college is advancing the Kingdom across India and beyond
India has over 1 3 billion people more than any other country It also has about 2,000 unreached people groups A staggering number of people have no access to the gospel of Christ.
Navigating the complexities of India’s diverse social landscape, where caste divisions, linguistic diversity, and cultural traditions shape communities, is no small feat. Yet, we embrace these challenges head-on, partnering together to recognize the unique opportunities we can present for spreading the hope of the gospel.
Out of a desire to equip pastors on how to bring the message of the gospel to unreached communities across India, our ministry partner founded a local Bible college in 1952
Through accredited undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, doctoral, and formal and nonformal training programs, they provide theological education and village church planter and ministry training. With eight training centers across four regions in India, we stand together in extending the opportunity for everyone to encounter the gospel and be discipled within a local community of believers
In recent years, our ministry partner has broadened their focus to include training leaders beyond theology Initiatives in communications, business administration, social work, counseling, and psychology aim to empower the next generation as Christian leaders in various professional realms.
To accommodate for this expansion in leadership, an education center will be constructed featuring an auditorium, additional classrooms, administrative offices, boardroom facilities, and a multi-faceted student center.
The auditorium will host large events and seminars and serve as the worship center for a local church. Additional classrooms equipped with modern technology will enhance academic quality and attract more students. The student center will foster community, discipleship, and mentorship.
Ultimately, this project aims to amplify the name of Jesus further as more Christian leaders will be equipped to share the hope of the gospel with their peers and coworkers.
Eight training centers exist across four regions to equip pastors to share the gospel to unreached communities in India.
More than 5,000 pastors are trained every year.
In just one month, over 800 women, men, and children were ministered to through various formal and nonformal programs at one of the training centers.
The ground has been prepared to lay the foundation for the Education Center. This project should take around 12-18 months to complete.
Mission ONE has partnered with local leaders in India since 1992 With a vision to develop leaders to plant churches and reach the unreached, our partner oversees a Bible college that spans across eight locations around the country. They have accredited undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, and doctoral level programs as well as both informal and non-formal training programs that focus on equipping local pastors.
“We are so thankful to the Lord for our partnership with Mission ONE and continue to see God expanding our sphere of influence across Asia. Praise God!”
Local partner in India
In rural Togo, a car rental exists with a vision to support the long-term impact of the local church for generations to come
With a network of over 150 local pastors serving rural communities across Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Togo, the ongoing needs of the ministry are vast.
The majority of these pastors are married with children, without other income-generating activities. They faithfully spend their time serving unreached communities and praying with those in need while caring for their growing families.
Currently, very few pastors are able to receive financial support from the ministry. Our desired impact is for the car rental to continue to expand to support this team of missionaries both their personal needs as well as the resources necessary to holistically care for the communities they serve
“This project gives us hope that tomorrow will be better.”
When the car rental began, we partnered alongside a local ride-share platform which helped to kickstart the operations of the business. The downside was that this company took 18-20% of the profit from each ride.
In an effort to maximize the opportunity to grow this business, we’re thrilled to report that we relaunched the project earlier this year as its own entity‚ without the co-operating rideshare service.
With invaluable insight from our local leader of a car rental in Kenya, our partner in Togo was confident to move forward in this process He completed the necessary paperwork and installed new GPS systems in the vehicles to ensure a smooth transition of business
Customers are now able to rent the cars bought with Mission ONE support as drivers rather than passengers. This allows them to be rented for longer periods of time, generating a larger profit and giving our local partner more flexibility to visit other pastors. In addition, 100% of the revenue goes towards the operational expenses and ministry.
Our current focus is on marketing the business in the community, specifically to those traveling to Togo who are in need of transportation
Mission ONE has been partnering with local leaders in Togo since 2006 This husband-and-wife team oversees a network of pastors serving communities in Togo, Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast. They focus on discipleship, providing pastoral care, walking alongside families and communities in need, and planting churches where there are none.
The vital ministry of church planting in remote and unreached communities
In West Africa, animistic beliefs and practices, including voodoo, hold significant influence over the cultural and spiritual landscape. Deeply rooted in tradition and passed down through generations, these belief systems shape the worldview of many communities across the region.
Our network of missionaries are persistently called on to pray over those tormented by evil spirits. With unwavering faith and compassion, they enter villages where fear and darkness have long held sway.
Armed with the authority of Christ, they offer hope and the light of the gospel to those in the shadows of despair Individuals and entire villages are being set free through the power of the Holy Spirit!
“My heart is full of joy! To God be all the glory! May His name be praised!”
Testimony from a life transformed
As we seek to financially support the ministry through the car rental, we remain committed to also spiritually sustaining our network of missionaries through Biblical training.
Last year, your support of Mission ONE enabled 120 local pastors from our network to gather for fellowship, training, and worship. This year, our local partner is planning to host the pastors’ conference again this summer.
We are praying for the ways the Lord will work in and through these leaders, and for their time at the conference to be fruitful and refreshing as they fan into flame their ministries
“I went back to the ministry strengthened. God bless Mission ONE.”
Local leader at the 2023 Pastors’ Conference
Over $9,000 in profit has been generated since the start of the car rental.
Your support has purchased two vehicles to be utilized by the car rental.
This year, we re-launched the car rental as its own entity, without the ride-share platform we previously divided the profit with.
150 local pastors are faithfully ministering to communities across West Africa.
Over 90% of the population in Thailand is Buddhist with only 1% knowing and following Jesus Christ. Out of the 114 people groups, 65% of them are considered unreached.
With a network of over 250 local missionaries across 20 provinces, our ministry in Southeast Asia is making a profound impact in planting churches where none existed before.
In an effort to support the longevity of this work, we’ve partnered together to empower these local pastors as they travel to remote villages, overcoming geographical barriers and cultural differences, and bring the light of hope to those who need it most
The Summit: A Mission ONE Gathering
Later this year, we’re extending an incredible and transforming training opportunity to our local partners around the world. Hosted by our ministry partner in Thailand, we’ll be gathering two members from each of our 10 partner organizations along with our Mission ONE U.S. team to spend time in training and fellowship together in person This will be the first conference of its kind for Mission ONE, and we’re excited to see how the Lord uses this time!
By equipping them in God’s Word and planning leadership conferences for times of refreshment and fellowship, we are standing together in the mission of transforming communities to look more like the Kingdom
Though spread around the world, our local partners share the same heart to transform communities to look more like the Kingdom. Each ministry does this differently based on their own culture, needs, gifts, and the religious contexts in which they live.
Yet, there is so much to learn from one another in each experience. We’re honored to be able to plan such a sacred event to hold space for each of our partners’ wisdom and stories. We’ll be spending time in Biblical and project-based training as well as relationship building and worship
A network of over 250 pastors are sharing the gospel with unreached communities across Southeast Asia.
Over 20 members from our local partnerships will gather together in Thailand this October, along with Mission ONE staff
We will spend six days together in fellowship, training, and listening and learning from one another.
This will be the first time we gather all of our partners together in person, and we can’t wait to experience the fruit of this time together.
Mission ONE has been partnering with local leaders in Thailand since 1995. Holistically ministering to rural communities, our partner is planting churches, discipling believers, and training local leaders. With a strong belief that all of life is sacred and spiritual, our partner is building bridges to minister to communities through vocational and leadership training and entrepreneurship reconciling the concept of work to God's intent in creation
We’re grateful for our local partner in Thailand and his willingness to hold this inaugural conference on his ministry grounds. We can’t wait to be together in person in October! YOU CAN HELP US BRING THE SUMMIT TO LIFE!
"I am grateful for Mission ONE’s upcoming conference which will be a means of achieving theological truth and training that will help me to teach and serve the ministry better. It will provide fuel for advancing the Kingdom of God in every part of the world. I’m looking forward to interacting with speakers and friends and learning about a Godcentered mission that will help me plant new churches where there are none. The impact will also help us empower the ministry in economic development and supporting the impact financially."
"We, The Orchard Church, are so thankful for the work of Mission ONE. Not only for the work in other countries, but also right here in the United States. The heart to train locals and equip them to do the work of ministry applies anywhere and Mission ONE is seeing that happen. For us personally, we have benefited from partnering with Mission ONE from learning more about how they approach mission philosophy, organizational development, and operational effectiveness. We are thankful to be partners with Mission ONE and look forward to more involvement with them in the future."
JOSH FRAZIER EXECUTIVE PASTOR AT THE ORCHARD CHURCH, WAYNESVILLE, NCWhen we partner together to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of communities through the local church, the impact illuminates pathways to healing, reconciliation, and the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thousands of communities transformed We’re actively seeking to grow our impact around the globe. We’re prayerfully exploring missional connections in Bhutan, Indonesia, North India, and the Middle East.
There are very few organizations whose mission statement I get more excited about. I’ve always been passionate about the Kingdom of God, particularly the way Mission ONE engages with the local church and local communities in hard-to-reach places. I like to believe that my family can journey with families around the world through Mission ONE to become more like the Kingdom of God.
PETER HOWARD M1 BOARD CHAIRMAN AND DONORWhen we got married, my husband and I only wanted to support gospel-advancing initiatives. As we started to think about who was doing that best, Mission ONE kept coming to the fore. Part of that reason was because of the local and intentional partnerships. We have a lot of confidence in where our giving is going and seeing that everything they do is partnered to a local church is so affirming.
CHRISTIANNA ROBERTSON M1 BOARD MEMBER AND DONOROur upcoming book delves into our primary discoveries regarding the origins of violence and the message of peace found in the gospel. Using Ephesians 2:11-22, we explore these themes through scripture, theology, history, and the social sciences. In our research, we found a connection between shame and violence.
As humans, we are wired to seek glory, to be acknowledged, understood, and loved for who we are and experience deep relational harmony with others However, the brokenness of the world causes us to experience shame
Shame, without the tools to process and heal, drives individuals and groups towards violence. But the gospel of peace presents a solution. Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, we are reconciled with God and our honor is restored as image-bearers in the Kingdom.
Extinguishing enmity, we are invited into a fresh relational beauty in Jesus In finding glory in him, we embrace a transformative way of existing as humans.
This is the message Werner Mischke, Mission ONE Vice President, and Kristin Caynor, theological educator and researcher, are sharing through this project, and we can’t wait for you to hear more of their insights.
We’re grateful to report William Carey Publishing has accepted the book for publication. The book’s title will be One New Humanity: Glory, Violence, and the Gospel of Peace Werner and Kristin are currently working with the publisher to refine the manuscript and prepare it for printing We’re expecting the book will be available by December or January
Thank you for your support which has made this work possible

People in the remote district of Pokot, Kenya struggle to receive even the most fundamental health care services. To receive care, residents previously had to embark on an 80 mile journey to the nearest hospital, many unable to make the trip due to their health needs, particularly vulnerable groups such as expectant mothers and children.
In response, our local ministry partner has come alongside the community to provide access to lifesaving medical care Three clinics, equipped with basic supplies, medications, and vaccines, provide an array of critical and preventive care, including maternal and child health services Collectively, these clinics serve approximately 2,670 individuals each month
The Gospel’s compassion reaching a remote community through holistic medical care
With the ministry funding th staff, our focus isn’t solely o physical needs of the comm every encounter as an oppor build relationships and orga the love, compassion, and h Christ When we create proj with the aim of building the individuals come to recogniz profound value God places o spiritual and physical needs
Providing access to medical care has not only improved the health of countless individuals, but has also instilled a sense of hope in a region that has long been marginalized.
Mission ONE has been serving the community of Pokot alongside our partner since 2000. Our ministry partner works in remote areas of northern Kenya supporting and building new church plants where they have not yet been established Their focus is on creating access to education for school-age children and providing medical care through health clinics
Earlier this year, the All Girls School began another academic year with 122 students, marking a notable increase of 53 more girls compared to the previous year. We’re not only celebrating the growth at the school, we’re praising God for the Kingdom-minded movement that’s happening in this region. More parents are choosing to send their daughters to school which is fostering generations of impactful change. Rather than being forced into early marriages and motherhood, young girls are being given the chance to receive an invaluable education This opportunity is opening doors for their futures that were once shut by societal norms
We’re currently in the final phase of the construction project to expand the school grounds The additional classrooms are accommodating for the incredible growth we’ve seen over the last few years.
Three medical clinics exist in Pokot and provide lifesaving care to those in the community.
2,670 members from the community receive care at the clinics each month.
Mortality rates have decreased for both adults and children in Pokot.
The medical clinics provide organic opportunities for the gospel to be shared.
122 girls are enrolled in the All Girls School and are thriving in their academics and learning more about their value as image-bearers.
Two women and their two small babies attended the clinic and were given treatment for similar conditions. Two days later, one came back and reported that the baby’s condition was not improving with the given medicine.
On further assessment, the nurse found the baby had breathing distress and moderate fever. The nurse then treated the baby for pneumonia. That evening, the child had tremendously improved, leading to a resumption of appetite and regular feeding.
The parents called in the following morning and gave praise to God for healing their first born baby.
A journey of holistic development and local church planting in the Musahar community
Our ministry alongside our local partner in Nepal continues as we seek to holistically serve the Musahar people group a community of 110 families long forgotten by society. Severe marginalization, deeply entrenched within the caste system, has relegated them to the status of “untouchables.”
For generations, the Musahar community has endured unimaginable hardships, grappling with poverty, lack of education, and social exclusion. Many in the community struggle with alcohol abuse, lack desire to learn skills to earn a dignified income, and show very little interest in sending their children to school for a chance at a better future.
However, your support of Mission ONE has extended a compassionate hand to offer relief and restoration. Since the start of this project in early 2023, we’ve been able to distribute food as well as start various ministry programs such as women empowerment groups, family counseling, and youth outreach activities Three house churches have been established and six people have found hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ
“People are coming to Christ! Souls are being saved! People have discovered hope because we have come to build friendship with them.”
Local partner in Nepal
Many are sending their children to the weekly gospel-focused activities and some parents are even starting to show interest in sending their children to school.
Bringing hope through clean water
A new chapter is unfolding as the local government in Nepal has joined hands with our ministry partner to bring lifechanging resources to the Musahar village. The local government, aware of the work being done to uplift a marginalized community, has decided to install clean water taps for 60 families in the village This collaboration is instilling hope in the community and providing a vital basic need
Transforming lives and making a lasting impact in the community
Our local partner reports that the community is displaying a more positive outlook on earning a dignified income to provide for the needs of their families Some even turning from their deeply rooted alcohol abuse The programs and ministry efforts initiated with your generous support are rewriting narratives and implementing healthy and God-honoring patterns This not only has an impact on this generation, but also on those to come
We’re currently in the process of establishing leaders and a space for the local church to more formally meet. Our hope is for the local church to stand as a symbol of a growing faith community and a testament to the hope of the gospel and its power to transform in the name of Jesus.
We’re also actively seeking ways to provide for the community’s long-term needs. Similar to the project we implemented with the Cave People several years ago, our plan is to start a goat livelihood program. This will allow the community to raise and sell goats to earn an income for their families
Mission ONE has been partnering with local leaders in Nepal since 2009 This husband-and-wife team leads a nonprofit organization comprising a large network of local a t Th i t t lant are y of ship ent ent m to ring hed.

Kumar used to struggle with alcoholism. He neglected his family both emotionally and physically, often missing work and without the means to provide for his children.
Since this project began, through building healthy relationships and the intervention of classes and ministry programs, he has reduced his consumption of alcohol and has remained committed to his work. He proclaims, “I am a new person!”
This is the impact you’re making in Nepal!
A goat livelihood program will be implemented soon to provide a sustainable and dignified source of income for families.
Local pastors are being sought out and will soon be trained to lead the church in the village.
The last cohort of 12 girls graduated from the sewing ministry in December 2023. Currently, our local partner and his wife have started a Bible study with 13 young women in the community. They’re in the process of plugging them into the local church, and from there it will be decided how many girls from this group will join the next cohort
During the six-month training, the girls will receive a small income to provide for their families while they’re learning sewing and business skills and studying the Word of God.
A sewing ministry in Kijabe Town was founded with a vision to uplift and empower vulnerable youth, particularly young girls at risk of exploitation Many girls are faced with the responsibility of providing for their families, or grandparents who have taken them in after losing both of their parents In a society where women are excluded from education and opportunities, they often find themselves involved in prostitution in order to earn a small income to provide lifesaving food and resources for their families.
With an aim to provide a new way forward, a sewing project exists to train girls in the community in vocational skills. This will allow them the opportunity to receive dignified jobs after graduation, or the ability to start their own sewing businesses.
The impact of this initiative extends far beyond the walls of the sewing center. As these women gain skills and learn to make a dignified income, they will break generational cycles of poverty and inspire young girls coming after them. They will become agents of change, transforming not just their own lives, but also their families.
Through perseverance and determination, these women will be given the chance to turn away from prostitution, find belonging in the church, and grow the local economy through the businesses they start.
12 girls graduated from the sewing ministry in December 2023 and are using the skills they learned to earn an income for their families.
13 girls from the community are currently being mentored and poured into through a Bible study started by our local partner and his wife.
Before the next sewing cohort begins, these girls are first being plugged into the local church where they will find belonging and community in the body of Christ.
Our local partner is led by a husband-and-wife team. Our founder, Bob Schindler, first met them during his initial trip to Africa in 1988 God used their and ministry to deeply ob’s heart which led to nding of Mission ONE 00 churches have been d through this ministry an Together, we focus ng with and supporting n and children through the local church.
“This project gives us hope when we see girls turning from prostitution to Christ and receiving new hope in Him. When people see the change in the girls from the sewing ministry, their desire to follow Christ is increased.”
Local partner in Kijabe Town
This ministry has been a Mission ONE partner since 1991. Arrested multiple times for preaching, our partner has been persecuted and nearly killed for his outspoken faith. The ministry was founded in a community where people endure gunfire from war every week, hardships are commonplace, and people struggle to provide for their basic needs Together, we’re meeting their needs and praying with the broken-spirited through a network of local churches spanning across South Sudan and Sudan
Illuminating the light and hope of Jesus in times of deepest despair
In Juba, South Sudan, the current humanitarian crisis and the war in Sudan have collided to severely limit resources and escalate conflict Despite these challenges, our local partner remains faithful in the ministry of serving his community
In the face of the worsening conditions in South Sudan, your support is helping to provide immediate food and resources for our partner’s community. Thanks to your contribution to our South Sudan Relief campaign earlier this year, we were able to send funds to deliver food to those struggling to provide for their families.
In a country grappling with ongoing civil conflict, political instability, and extreme poverty, our team of seven missionaries remains committed to planting churches where there are none.
The vision of this ministry is rooted in a profound sense of purpose: to bring spiritual nourishment and community support to the forgotten corners of South Sudan. Reaching these communities requires not only unwavering faith, but also immense courage and resilience.
In areas where government services are nonexistent, the church becomes a lifeline addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of the communities.
“Because of all the wars and fighting that have taken place, people are left with nothing. We want to give them hope by showing them that Jesus loves them, and we love them.”

With your support, he also regularly visits remote villages and shares the hope of the gospel with hundreds of people across three regions in South Sudan Many of whom, transformed by the power of the message of Jesus Christ, are asking for help to plant churches in their villages.
To date 36 churches have been formed from our ministry together. By planting churches in dangerous and hard-toreach areas, we are sowing seeds of hope that will bear fruit for generations to come. This is your impact at work for the Kingdom. Thank you for making this possible!
