AICP Annual celebration of Isra’ & Mi^raj-un-Nabi (PBUH)
By: Br Imad, AICP New Westminister Being one of the greatest miracles Allah ta^ala has granted our master Muhammad, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, and blessed his nation with, it is but natural for Muslims to observe the miracle of Isra’ & Mi^raj. As a leading Islamic association, the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects proudly commemorated this great miracle with a wonderful celebration at its Center at 553 Front Street, New Westminster on May 16. The program was well attended by Muslim community from all over Greater Vancouver. The event started with a moving recitation from the holy Qur’an (Tilawat-e-Quran) followed by beautiful touching Islamic Praises (Madih chants) performed by the one of a kind AICP Chanting Group. From various cultural backgrounds and ages the students of The Islamic Education School (TIES- AICP Saturday schooling program for Religion & Arabic language) presented valuable information about some of the endowments in Paradise. It was necessary for the speakers to emphasize the fact that Allah granted His Messenger this great miracle of Isra’ and Mi^raj to honor him sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam by showing
him the wonders of the upper world as stated clearly in The Glorious Qur’an in Surat al-Isra’, Verse 1 that means “ To show him of our wonders” because the belief of the Muslims is that Allah exists without a place. The ascension of the Prophet to the heavens never meant that Allah is there. Allah created places so He does not need any (subhanahu wa ta^ala). It was also a chance to clarify that the Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam got close to Jibril for as much as two cubits or less and not to Allah otherwise it would be blasphemy, without doubt, because relating and attributing the distance and/or the place to the Creator is blasphemy. So, the purpose of Mi^raj is to honor the Messenger of Allah sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam by showing him the wonders of the upper world and to raise his rank. The belief of the Muslims is that Allah exists without a place. Muslims should be warned about vile speechmakers and some books of some misleading information, such as a book attributed falsely to Ibn ^Abbas, named “Kitab al-Mi^raj” which means: The book of Mi^raj. The speakers also elaborated how the Isra’ (Night Journey) started when the Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam rode al-Buraq (an animal from Paradise). He journeyed from the honorable Makkah to the honorable Aqsa where Allah the Exalted assembled for him all the Prophets-from Adam to ^Isa, peace be upon all of them, and he led them in Prayer. Some of the wonders which the Prophet saw during Isra’ are: The world, the devil, neglectors of prayer. From al-Masjid al-Aqsa the Mi^raj (Ascension) started; the Prophet ascended to the heaven on stairs, called al-mirqat. Those stairs are veiled from us. He then saw, in the first heaven, Prophet Adam who welcomed him and made supplication for him for good

things. Then the Prophet ascended to the second heaven in which he saw Prophets ^Isa and Yahya. The Prophet ascended to the third heaven where he found Prophet Yusuf. Then the Prophet ascended to the fourth heaven where he found Prophet Idris. In the fifth heaven, the Prophet encountered Harun, the brother of Prophet Musa. In the sixth heaven, he encountered Prophet Musa. Each of these Prophets received Prophet Muhammad with a warm welcome and made supplication (du^a’) for him for good things. Then the Prophet ascended to the seventh heaven, and that is where our Messenger saw Prophet Ibrahim. Prophet Ibrahim is the best of the prophets after our Prophet, Muhammad. Prophet Ibrahim had his back against al-Bayt al-Ma^mur when the Prophet saw him. To the inhabitants of the skies, al-Bayt al-Ma^mur is like the Ka^bah is to us, the inhabitants of the earth. Every day 70,000 angels go there , exit from it and never return. On the next day another 70,000 angels would go, come out, and never return and so on. In the seventh heaven, Prophet Muhammad saw Sidrat al-Muntaha, an extremely beautiful tree. In Paradise, the Prophet saw some of the bounties Allah prepared for the inhabitants of Paradise. He saw the Hur ul-^In: non- human nor jinn females whom Allah created. They are in Paradise and will be married to whom Allah willed.
The Prophet saw the wildan ul-mukhalladun: these are non- human, jinn, nor angels creations of Allah. They are a very beautiful creation of Allah whose appearance is like sprinkled pearls. They are servants of the inhabitants of Paradise. The Prophet saw the Throne (^Arsh) which is the ceiling of Paradise. The Throne is the largest creation in size. Allah did not create anything bigger in size than it. Allah ta^ala the Creator of everything does not need it, nor does He need to sit on it. Allah exists without a place because He created the places so He does not need them. The seven heavens and the earth in comparison to the Kursiyy are like a ring thrown in a desert, and the Kursiyy in comparison to the Throne is like a ring thrown in a desert. The seven heavens and the earth in comparison to the Throne are like a seed of mustard compared to the ocean. Allah created the Throne as a sign of His Power and He did not create the Throne to sit on it. Imam ^Aliyy may Allah raise his rank said: “Allah created the ^Arsh as an indication for His Power, and He did not take it as a place for Himself.” On this great occasion the AICP asks Allah to grant Muslims sincerity, more beneficial knowledge, and prosperity. We ask Allah to bestow on us the bounty of entering Paradise without torture and being with Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
Mirraj-un-Nabi (SAW) Celebrates at Faizan-e-Madina Centre Surrey
On May 16, Dawat-e-Islami Vancouver organized an event at its Faizan-e-Madina Centre in Surrey to celebrate the night of Miraj-un Nabi(saw) especially on the night of Rajab 27. Mr. Abid Attari was the MC for this event. He invited Salman Ashfaq for the recitation of Quran, after recitation few beautiful Naats e Rasoole Maqbool were presented by Ashfaq Attari, Sajid Salim Attari, and Umair Raza Attari (Calgary). MC requested Br. Umair Raza Attari, to deliver a speech on Isra wal- Miraj. Mr. Raza recited few verses of Sura Isra and quoted few other verses of Quran along with Hadiths. He said that Allah(swt) took his beloved Messenger in a short period of night from Mecca to Masjid e Aqsa and then Sidratul Muntha and then explain Prophet journey in step by step. After that he delivered a very short but dynamic speech and said that for the first part
of his journey from Mecca to Masjid al Aqsa, Prophet(saw) knew a lot of details as people who would not believe his physical journey. Our beloved Prophet Mohammad (SAW) got Salat ( 5 Prayers) from Miraj. Today this Miraj un Nabi reminds everyone of us to pray 5 times a day. At the end Darood o Salam and Duaa made for all.
