Putting an end to soggy footgear is what the PEET Shoe Dryer concept has been all about since the company was founded in 1968, and today’s lineup of dryers extends well beyond boots and shoes, to helmets and gun safes. For 2012, the Idaho-based company is concentrating on delivering the products it is now producing. PEET dryers not only remove dampness, they eliminate odor-causing bacteria and prevent mold and mildew. These last two considerations are critical inside gun safes and lockers, where damp air can contribute to rust and corrosion of valuable firearms and other gear stored inside. In terms of energy savings, PEET dryers use less energy than a 40-watt light bulb. For example, last year’s debut SafeKeeping dryer draws only 18 watts of power, and it has been tested inside a Liberty safe. There are models that will accommodate everything from shoes to hip boots and waders. This translates to extended service life for valuable footwear. The five products in the Huberd’s line can extend the life of a boot by many years, preventing cracking, keeping the leather supple and water resistant. Three different holster models from N82 Tactical and custom shop models designed to accommodate handguns with Crimson Trace Laserguard sights are available from N82 Tactical. There are three standard holster models, with oil-tanned facing that protects the finish of a firearm while providing a durable contact surface for the gun. These holsters are built with suede backing for a soft contact with the body, while providing natural friction that spreads the weight of the gun and a good contact that will not slide around. This also allows for N82 Tactical’s single clip retention design. Neoprene is sewn between the layers of leather for padding and also a layer of waterproofing to keep perspiration away from the gun. Also from N82 Tactical comes the Original and Original “tuckable” holster models, featuring a dense Herringbone elastic that is sewn into the facing leather and provides a secure contact with the firearm. Pachmayr is expanding its selection of Tactical Grip Gloves for owners of small semiautomatic pistols for 2012. Three new models are available, for the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard, the Ruger LC9 and the Glock subcompact. Made from the same material used in Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pads, these new Grip Gloves have ventilated side panels, molded palm swells and finger grooves along the front. tester. This handy gadget will allow a gunsmith to test and organize loose recoil springs and it is made from high-density nylon. It is available with or without a scale. The SFP Mover target is for serious shooters, and is built to last for years. Built from zinc-plated steel and aluminum with quality hardware, the Mover target features two steel uprights with folding legs, and there is an economy model that lets the user install his own 2x4 uprights attached to the target base. The SFP mover target motor is attached to the upright and a line is employed to pull the trolley with a target along the cable. The unit can be triggered via a hand-held control or a remote target, such as a popper. For shooters who participate in the Steel Challenge competitions, the Economy Plate Stand may be the answer.
