Hey there, lovely readers!

There’s something truly special about the moment when inspiration, place, and people come together. Our cover feature is a perfect reflection of that. Azuridge Estate was the epitome of what we aim to create through our editorial workshops: a venue rich in history, breathtaking in design, and immersive in experience. Every corner tells a story, and this shoot was a celebration of what happens when creativity is given space to unfold in a setting that is as thoughtful as it is beautiful.

This issue is also embracing green - our trend colour of the moment. From soft sage to rich, grounded hues, green became the foundation of our editorial shoots, chosen for its versatility and its ability to adapt beautifully across the three Prairie provinces. Whether styled in an urban setting with clean lines and modern textures, or woven into a country-inspired landscape with organic elements and natural light, green proves that a trend doesn’t have to be limiting. It’s a colour that invites creativity, reflects a sense of calm and connection, and allows couples to make it their own, no matter their location or personal style.

One of my favourite stories in this issue is Celebrating Milestones with Blissful Bridal. Theresa and her team remind us that weddings aren’t just about the bride, they’re also about every woman who stands beside her. From mothers to grandmothers, their gowns are designed to ensure each generation feels confident, celebrated, and truly themselves.

As always, we encourage you to meet the talented professionals behind the scenes. Our vendor list is curated with intention, spotlighting local experts who are passionate about their craft and dedicated to serving couples in meaningful ways. These are the creatives who bring visions to life, and we’re proud to showcase their work.

Thank you for spending time with us. Pour a coffee, turn the pages slowly, and enjoy the inspiration.

From Trends To Timeless

A LEGACY of LOVE at Azuridge Estate Hotel

Where design, emotion, and artistry intertwine to create an immersive celebration of modern luxury.

Set against the sweeping backdrop of the Rocky Mountain foothills, Azuridge Estate Hotel is a place where grandeur feels intimate and every corner tells a story. For this Mint creative editorial, the estate’s European-inspired architecture and panoramic mountain views became the foundation for a day of elevated romance. A luxurious yet grounded celebration of artistry, texture, and thoughtful design.

From the moment you enter Azuridge, there’s an unmistakable sense of presence, the way natural light spills through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the warmth of stone and wood, the serenity of the surrounding evergreens. This setting inspired an aesthetic rooted in modern opulence and organic romance: refined, moody, and deeply personal.

The creative direction centered around designing a space that felt immersive. Every element, from florals to flatware, contributed to a complete sensory experience rather than existing as individual pieces.

The palette reflected early autumn’s quiet luxury: deep greens, muted pinks, soft mauves, and warm golds, layered with candlelight and natural texture. The goal was to blur the line between indoors and out, allowing Azuridge’s serenity to flow seamlessly into every styled vignette.

Among the standout pieces was Hepburn, a Casa Blanca wedding gown that pays homage to the enchantment of Old Hollywood glamour. This breathtaking tulle ball gown, with its softly scooped neckline and pearlencrusted lapel, captures both nostalgia and modern sophistication. The satin bodice, defined by an eyecatching basque waistline, evokes vintage opulence, while the artful lapel folds and intricate pearl beading add a touch of couture artistry.

Designed with precision and versatility in mind, Hepburn features 13-point boning, an inner hook-eye fit panel, and detachable spaghetti straps, allowing for a flawless, personalized fit for every bride. Below the waist, flowing layers of airy tulle cascade into a sweeping 77-inch train, catching the light as they move.

It’s a gown designed to embody confidence, grace, and modern femininity. A timeless expression of classic bridal beauty reimagined for the present moment.

The Cameron Blake and Montage gowns, chosen for the mothers’ looks, complemented the bridal story with quiet power. Their rich fabrics and refined tailoring reflected sophistication and poise - polished, graceful, and undeniably timeless.

The reasoning behind each choice was rooted for style and harmony. The Blissful Bridal team sought gowns that would belong in the space, that would enhance the editorial’s visual flow rather than compete with it. The fashion was curated as a part of a larger composition, so that every dress spoke to the atmosphere of Azuridge itself.

Makeup artist Brandi Russell crafted looks that enhanced natural features with subtle precision, ensuring every detail reflected the soft, elegant atmosphere of the shoot. Her approach focused on radiant, luminous skin and delicate definition.

Guided by the principles of timelessness, Brandi designed makeup that would transcend trends and photograph effortlessly in any light. Each look remained flawless throughout the day, maintaining consistency across every frame. The result was a cohesive expression of beauty, polished, graceful, and enduring.

The bride’s long hair was styled in loose curls with a soft half-up finish, creating graceful movement while providing the perfect placement for her flowing veil, resulting in a look that paired beautifully with her strapless gown. For the mother of the bride, a relaxed low bun with delicate tendrils added softness and timeless charm, while the grandmother’s mid-height bun offered a polished sophistication that framed her face with gentle ease. Each style was intentionally understated yet elegant, harmonizing perfectly with the romantic, luxurious tone of the day.

The architectural florals by Flora Arch set the tone for the celebration. Their vision was to create a luxurious and romantic secret garden that blended modern artistry with timeless elegance. Using real-touch silk florals, they built grand installations for the ceremony altar, guest tables and the sweetheart table, complemented by soft, airy arrangements across the reception tables and lounge spaces.

Every choice was deliberate. The team drew on color theory to shape emotion, weaving together lush greens with muted blushes and creams to evoke a sense of classic romance infused with contemporary flair.

By incorporating floral urns and layered textures, the arrangements achieved that perfect tension between structure and softness. These focal pieces decorated and defined the space, grounding the room in natural beauty while adding dimension and warmth. Their approach highlighted how silk florals, when chosen with care and artistic precision, can emulate the vibrancy and fluidity of fresh blooms. The result was an environment that felt alive, immersive, romantic, and entirely in tune with the grandeur of Azuridge.

Flowers by Natasha brought intimacy to the bridal bouquet, wrist corsages, and boutonnières were designed to feel soft, timeless, and organic. The result was a reflection of both the venue’s natural surroundings and the modern bride’s understated elegance. The floral selection balanced trending blooms with gardeninspired classics. Feature flowers such as Anemone, Curcuma, and blush Dahlia were paired with mauve spray roses, Hellebores, Astrantia, and Yarrow, creating arrangements that felt curated yet effortless.

Their palette, a mix of gentle mauves, blushes, and natural greens, echoed the surrounding landscape and the editorial’s mood. The bouquets were intentionally kept smaller to align with current trends toward refinement and simplicity, while the boutonnière and corsages were intentionally oversized, a nod to the growing movement of statement wearable florals.

Each arrangement felt as if it had always belonged there, nestled within the architecture and light of Azuridge. It was a beautiful demonstration of how florals, when thoughtfully chosen, can embody both place and emotion.

The tablescapes were a masterclass in layered luxury. Each table featured a different shade of green linen, creating depth and tone variation that harmonized beautifully with the estate’s mountain palette. Goldrimmed plates, elegant flatware, and tall taper candles elevated the setting, while clusters of floating candles in glass vessels added reflection, warmth, and movement.

Light, both natural and ambient, was an essential part of the design. As sunlight filtered through the grand windows, it emphasized across the glass and metallic accents. When dusk arrived, candlelight transformed the room into a glowing scene of quiet romance.

Every corner of the estate is designed with intention, from its soaring windows to its quiet corners, creating an atmosphere that feels both grand and deeply personal. It’s where architecture, light, and nature converge to create something wholly immersive.

At Azuridge, modern love stories unfold against a backdrop of timeless design, and where every detail is elevated by the energy of the place itself. Beyond its beauty, Azuridge offers a sense of belonging, an atmosphere that draws you in, invites you to stay, and transforms a single day into a complete, unforgettable experience.

The cake, designed by Pretty Sweet Cakes, echoed this same intentional simplicity. With rough-textured tiers and soft detailing, it embodied quiet sophistication.

It served as a reminder that beauty doesn’t need excess to make an impact. Its presence in the room felt sculptural, timeless, and beautifully understated

What makes Azuridge Estate Hotel extraordinary is that it transcends the idea of being simply a venue. It’s an experience.

Captured through the lens of Leah Tyler-Szucki Photography, the day unfolded through the gentle rhythm of light and shadow. Within Azuridge’s grand architecture and soft interior light, there was a quiet magic all its own. The estate’s soaring windows, warm architecture, and reflective surfaces became the perfect backdrop.

Leah’s approach celebrated authenticity. Focusing on genuine connections, natural movement, and the unique light that shaped each space. Even the stormy, rainy day became part of the design, a testament to how true artistry transforms every condition into beauty, and how the outdoors can still be felt inside Azuridge.

Stationery by Seeking Light Studio introduced a tactile layer of artistry with a handmade, fine-art approach that elevated each place setting.

Soft, deckled papers, hand-illustrated florals, and layered vellum cards mirrored the organic textures of the décor, reinforcing the editorial’s blend of old-world charm and modern design.

TIMELESS ELEGANCE

In this Mint Weddings exclusive, a team of Regina’s finest wedding professionals came together to create a story rooted in local artistry and old-world charm. Set inside the historic Hotel Saskatchewan, this editorial celebrates the beauty of collaboration, timeless architecture, modern romance, and every detail that was crafted with intention.

From fashion to florals, every element was thoughtfully designed to complement the venue’s rich history while showing how today’s couples can draw inspiration from the past to create something fresh, meaningful, and uniquely their own.

The Timeless Elegance of The Hotel Saskatchewan

Set in the heart of downtown Regina, The Hotel Saskatchewan, Autograph Collection provided the perfect backdrop. A celebration of romance, history, and modern artistry.

Originally built in 1927 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, the hotel has long been a symbol of refinement and grace, its storied halls once welcoming royalty and dignitaries alike.

For this editorial, the hotel’s timeless interiors guided every creative choice. In the Library Room, rich architectural details - chandeliers, mirrors, vintage books, and textured seating - became part of the story. Rather than working against the room’s grandeur, each design element was layered to complement its history, creating a scene that felt both intimate and stately.

Darcy and the Classic Groom

The day began in a soft, romantic palette that allowed the details to shine. The bride wore Darcy, a creation by Casablanca Wedding Dresses. A captivating strapless fit-and-flare gown that blended classic lace with contemporary edge. The Basque waist and pointed sweetheart neckline sculpted a timeless silhouette, while the detachable illusion train and bolero jacket with voluminous sleeves added a hint of drama. Beside her, the groom’s look was rooted in tradition. A black-and-white tuxedo that offered quiet sophistication. The contrast between their styles told a story of balance: modern refinement meeting enduring romance.

Where Grandeur Meets Modern Romance

There is a particular kind of magic that happens when historic architecture becomes the canvas for a contemporary love story. Inside this iconic hotel, every detail - from the sweeping staircases to the gilded wall mouldings - creates a setting that feels timeless, cinematic, and effortlessly refined.

One of our favourite moments unfolds on the grand staircase. The tall, stately walls draw the eye upward, framing the couple in a way that feels both intimate and majestic. Classic artwork lines the upper landing, adding warmth and character as the bride and groom ascend the steps. It’s a vignette straight out of a period film, but with the freshness and lightness of today’s modern wedding style.

Just beyond the staircase, we created an elevated portrait lounge designed for couples who want their photos to feel editorial, soft, and beautifully curated. Floor-to-ceiling white draped linen sets the tone - minimal, clean, and completely on trend - while subtle greenery peeks through to add texture without overwhelming the space. Anchoring the scene is a sage-green loveseat, the perfect understated pop of colour that ties the room together.

The contrast between the historic glamour of the hotel and the modern styling of the portrait lounge creates a dynamic visual story. Together, these elements offer couples the best of both worlds: timeless luxury paired with fashion-forward design. It’s a reminder that when a venue’s inherent beauty is thoughtfully embraced, the result is nothing short of breathtaking.

Décor and Design

The design concept drew inspiration from the venue’s palette. Deep greens, gold, and soft neutrals created a tablescape rich in texture and tone.

Velvet green tablecloths grounded the look, while sage runners and deep emerald green damask-print napkins introduced layers of color and pattern.

Each place setting combined a gold-rimmed charger with cream dinnerware, stacked for depth and dimension. Gold flatware and an array of glassware completed the refined look.

The centerpiece arrangement mixed height and warmth: navy taper candles in gold and black holders added visual movement, while hurricane candles cast a soft glow that danced across the table. Every detail was intentional, designed to feel lush but not heavy, a perfect reflection of The Hotel Saskatchewan’s understated grandeur.

The Florals

The florals carried the color story forward in a loose, romantic style. Garden roses in blush and champagne mingled with peach ranunculus, scabiosa, and sweet peas, balanced by airy eucalyptus, jasmine vine, and Italian ruscus. The ceremony arch, built in two movable pieces, created visual depth and flexibility that later transitioned into part of the reception décor. Throughout the space, bud vases filled with small blooms softened reading corners and tabletops, ensuring no detail felt forgotten. This floral approach showed how local artistry can transform a historic venue, bringing modern romance to timeless surroundings.

Cake and Confections

The cake, inspired by the refined style of Mr. Darcy himself, embodied “structure meets softness.” Three white fondant tiers were trimmed with handpleated sage ribbons and finished with sugar pearls reminiscent of tailored buttons. The base tier burst into sculpted rosettes, echoing the emotion beneath formality.

Sugar florals in champagne, sage, and coral blush tied the piece to the overall palette, while every element was crafted by hand, gluten-free and made with care. For the baker, creating in this space held deep meaning, a tribute to family heritage and the craftsmanship that built the hotel generations ago.

Completing the look White Chocolate Bonbons with Ruby Ganache and Key Lime Meringue Tartlets offered a visual and flavor complement. Each piece was designed not only to taste exquisite but to photograph beautifully - delicate, intentional, and full of personality.

The Second Look and Final Moments

As the light softened in the late afternoon, the mood shifted. The bride changed into Marilu, a romantic A-line gown with spaghetti straps and a handkerchief-cut skirt that floated with every step. The dress blended the structure of stretch Mikado with the airy grace of tulle. We fell in love with the elegant, free movement of the design.

Hair was parted down the middle and styled in smooth waves with loose curls, paired with radiant, naturally glowing makeup that enhanced the bride’s features rather than masking them. Soft neutrals, berry-toned cheeks, and a glossy nude lip created a look that felt effortlessly timeless.

In these final frames, The Hotel Saskatchewan once again proved why it remains a beloved landmark not just a place, but a feeling. A space where legacy and artistry meet, brought to life by the creative talent of Regina’s local wedding professionals.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that feels cohesive yet layered, elevated yet inviting, this editorial was designed with you in mind. Set at The Barn at Wind’s Edge, situated outside of Saskatoon Saskatchewan, the vision was to show just how transformative thoughtful design can be, and how one venue can effortlessly hold multiple aesthetics without ever feeling disconnected. From the grandeur of the Ballroom to the softness of the Ceremony Hall, and the breathtaking hallway lined with oversized round drop chandeliers, every space flows into the next while offering its own distinct mood. Whether your style leans rustic, modern, or somewhere beautifully in between, this venue adapts to your vision rather than limiting it — and the outdoor spaces mirror that same versatility, offering endless stunning backdrops for portraits and ceremony moments alike.

With the trending greenforward theme as inspiration, the tablescape design focused on creating a comfortable, lived-in elegance - layered, tactile, and intentionally curated.

We chose to have a variety of tablescapes. One table featured a rectangular layout with wooden cross-back chairs, grounded by a neutral beige linen and softened with a sage green runner. Wicker round placemats added warmth and texture, while simple beige plates and green floral-print napkins kept the look organic and timeless.

A pop of personality came through with pink textured goblets, adding just enough contrast to keep the palette feeling fresh. Each plate was decorated with an edible sugar cookie that served as a decorative favour.

The round table offered a complementary but distinct look, dressed in a green floral-print tablecloth that tied back to the napkin pattern used elsewhere.

Clear charger plates edged with delicate gold beading, gold cutlery with black handles, and layered glassware, including green textured glasses, elevated the setting, while deep green napkins anchored the design with richness and depth. Florals were intentionally chosen, letting the textures and tones speak for themselves.

Along the long table, simple bud vases held single cream roses - classic, and elegant - paired with smaller greenery accents for a light, airy feel. The round table featured a more statement-making centerpiece: a large arrangement of neutral and blush florals woven with greenery, creating a soft focal point without overpowering the tablescape.

The dessert design echoed the editorial’s refined simplicity. A three-tier cake, each tier a different flavour, was finished in clean white fondant with delicate blush and pink florals, timeless, elegant, and effortlessly cohesive with the overall palette.

Custom wedding-shaped sugar cookies added a playful, personalized touch, while plain white cookies offered guests the chance to decorate their own, a fun, interactive favor that feels both memorable and meaningful.

Farah’s classic, sophisticated updo that echoed the modern elegance of her dress. Sleek, polished, and luxe, this refined upstyle highlighted her features beautifully.

Keitanna’s whimsical style celebrated her natural texture and prairie-inspired, romantic aesthetic. A soft boho finish paired with an unexpected sprig of florals added a fresh bridal detail that brought her look to life effortlessly.

The portrait lounge area was designed as a space you could truly imagine guests gathering. Blush and rose-toned couches created a soft seating moment, anchored by a marble-inspired coffee table and coordinating end tables with gold legs.

Mini gold lamps and floral bud vases completed the look, blending comfort with editorial polish and offering a beautiful setting for relaxed portraits that still feel intentional.

To carry the indoor aesthetic outdoors, an oversized wooden arch was styled with flowing green drapery. A simple yet impactful way to bring continuity to the design. The result was a portrait setting that felt romantic and organic, seamlessly connecting the interior spaces to the surrounding landscape. It’s a reminder that when your design story is thoughtfully considered, every transition - indoors to outdoors, ceremony to reception - can feel natural, elevated, and uniquely yours.

Completing the editorial were two bridal looks that perfectly balanced contrast and cohesion. A lace Sophia Tolli gown with spaghetti straps, a low back, and a soft, flowing silhouette brought romance and texture, while a satin Martin Thornburg gown offered sleek simplicity with a strapless neckline, ruched bodice, and dramatic full skirt. Together, they proved that mixing textures - lace and satin, softness and structure - can create a beautifully unified bridal vision that feels intentional rather than competing.

MODERN ROMANCE, ROOTED IN COTTAGE COUNTRY

This editorial was designed as an invitation to imagine what your own day could feel like when thoughtful design, versatile styling, and natural beauty come together effortlessly. Set at Kinloch Grove near Matlock, Manitoba, the vision draws from a bright, cool Cottage Country summer, where modern romance feels grounded in nature and every detail has room to breathe.

For the ceremony concept, we styled the space to feel intimate and refined, tucked into the Manitoba trees with a mix of classic white ceremony chairs and vintage soft seating for an elevated,

lounge-inspired look. This is where Casablanca’s Araminta dress shines. Her strapless sweetheart neckline, structured bodice, and dramatic Mikado skirt bring timeless bridal elegance with just the right amount of drama. The florals were intentionally sculptural yet organic, built with local willow, snapdragons, poppies, lisianthus, and soft movement in mind, showing how ceremony arrangements can feel at home in a natural setting while still reading polished and editorial. Paired with candlelight in glass hurricanes, the overall look is romantic, flexible, and designed to transition seamlessly into the rest of the day.

Moving under the transparent A-frame tent, the editorial shifts to a reception vision that balances softness with impact.

A dress change to the Paulina style was chosen for this space because she brings texture, light, and undeniable presence, layers of lace, sequins, and 3D florals catching every bit of daylight streaming through the open panels.

The tablescape was styled as an elongated meadow moment, with vintage white place settings, green floral plates, sage linens, gold cutlery, and mixed glassware that feels curated but approachable. Florals and candles continue here, styled low and airy to encourage connection across the table, demonstrating how ceremony arrangements can be repurposed beautifully without feeling repetitive.

The sweetheart table was given its own elevated moment, styled with sage green Queen Anne wingback chairs and gold-stemmed martini glasses. Subtle cues that signal this table is special without breaking from the overall design language.

Thoughtfully placed lounge seating adds intimate spaces for guests to mingle and provides effortlessly beautiful photo backdrops. A vintage white sofa and green-toned chairs anchor the space, adding historic charm and a soft, romantic contrast to the modern setting.

For the bar concept, we leaned into a celebratory yet refined aesthetic. Perfect inspiration for cocktail hour or late-night gatherings. The final gown introduces a more modern, figure-hugging silhouette, with clean lines, subtle shimmer, and ease of movement in mind.

Styled beside a custom white wood bar with trim detailing, this space shows how functional areas can feel intentional and styled. Florals appear once again, paired with candles, chiffon, a champagne tower, bar menu, cake display, and personal touches like a Polaroid moment, proof that your bar can be just as beautiful and considered as your ceremony or reception.

Throughout the editorial, florals and candle décor were used as connective elements, chosen specifically for their ability to adapt across spaces.

Ceremony pieces were designed to be flipped and restyled for the reception, sweetheart table, or bar, highlighting a design approach that is both visually cohesive and practical. The florals’ palette of fresh whites, shiny lime greens, and soft movement was inspired by the Manitoba summer landscape.

This shoot is meant to spark ideas, not set rules. It’s a reminder that when your design is built with intention, your wedding can feel elevated, effortless, and uniquely yours. Whether you’re planning a Cottage Country celebration, a modern tented reception, or something beautifully in between.

BRITT & BRADY

Kenosee Lake, SK | July 12,2025

match made in CRAVEN

Some love stories start with fate, and Brit and Brady’s began at the one and only Craven Country Jamboree. A campsite hop, a few well-connected friends-offriends, and a weekend of country music, laughter, and late-night campfire chats set the stage for what would become a forever kind of love.

Nine years later, countless adventures behind them, Brit Dort, CTV News Regina and TSN sports reporter, became Brit Gaudet as she married Brady Gaudet, former WHL defenseman turned hockey instructor. Together they’ve built a life rooted in prairie pride and community, and their wedding was a true reflection of that.

The day itself carried the spirit of Saskatchewan summers: a little humid, a touch of smoke from northern forest fires, and a ceremony where the sun finally broke through, bringing warmth and light. At Kenosee Lake, the golden sunset painted the perfect backdrop, while florals and refined details elevated the celebration. From quiet martini sips on the balcony to a lively dance floor strung with lights, every moment carried a sense of romance and joy.

Under the outdoor tent, surrounded by loved ones who had traveled near and far, the emotions ran high. Tears, laughter, playful gifts, and inside jokes wove through the evening, creating a celebration as heartfelt as it was unforgettable. It was clear to everyone there that Brit and Brady are not only deeply in love, but deeply cherished.

A FALL day to remember

Emma and Rylan’s wedding was a picture-perfect fall day. The morning began with cozy, intimate moments at their separate homes, surrounded by bridesmaids, groomsmen, and close family.

The celebration moved south of Saskatoon to the Berry Barn, a charming berry farm in the South Saskatchewan River Valley. The outdoor ceremony was chilly, but the golden autumn light and colorful foliage made it magical.

Afterward, portraits at Poplar Bluffs along the riverbank captured the couple’s effortless connection against the breathtaking prairie backdrop.

The evening continued at Sutherland Hall in Saskatoon for an intimate reception. Supper was comforting and delicious, and the cake that was made by Emma’s sister and bridesmaid was unforgettable. Speeches were heartfelt and personal, followed by a first dance sung by a groomsman on guitar as Emma and Rylan swayed together.

Then came the dance floor. The energy was electric, arguably the most lively crowd in a decade of wedding photography. Surrounded by family, love, and laughter, Emma and Rylan’s day was romantic, heartfelt, and full of joy. A fall celebration to remember.

A WINK AND A DRINK

Robert and Jade’s love story began with a wink at a Calgary Roughnecks game. What started as a playful wink quickly turned into conversation, laughter, and eventually, a love built on humor and heart.

On their wedding day, Jade stunned in an elegant off-the-shoulder gown while Robert brought his trademark charm, keeping guests laughing through his vows and later, his cowboy-hat dance moves.

The Heritage Centre’s rustic barn and white gazebo set the stage for an intimate ceremony and a lively reception. Guests dined beneath chandeliers and danced by the stone fireplace as the wedding party shone in bold red and black.

Highlights included the story of “the wink,” heartfelt vows, and celebrating hand-in-hand with family and friends. Every photo captured the warmth and joy of a couple whose love feels both timeless and full of life.

Congratulations, Robert & Jade! May your forever be filled with the same laughter and love that started it all. With a wink and a drink.

Our Stuffed Chicken Supreme is a blend of taste and texture. A tender breast of chicken, with a jewel-toned Saskatoon berry stuffing, offers a delicate flavour of sweet prairie fruit and fragrant herbs. Draped in a Madeira wine reduction, enhances the natural succulence of the poultry without overshadowing its subtle character. Beside it, a medley of freshly roasted seasonal vegetables and a cloud of silky mashed potatoes anchors the plate, smooth and indulgent. The perfect plate of luxurious flavours that offers an exquisite balance of tradition and sophistication

Our Lamb Duo is a sumptuous pairing that unites tradition and creativity on one elegant plate. The star is a mustardcrusted lamb rack, glazed with honey and fragrant grainy curry, its tender meat enveloped in a golden crust that delivers both depth and subtle spice. Alongside it, a Moroccan-inspired lamb kofta offers a contrasting texture and rich, aromatic profile, gently seasoned and flamekissed for an irresistibly savory finish. A delicate Saskatoon berry and lamb jus brings the dish together, with a sweet and savory balance. Served with freshly roasted seasonal vegetables that bring vibrant color and garden-fresh character, and a perfectly roasted potato that adds a comfort, this dish is an exploration of flavor and texture.

Our Alberta AAA Beef Tenderloin is a celebration of richness, refinement, and depth. A perfectly seared tenderloin of premium Alberta beef, is melt-in-yourmouth tender and exquisitely flavorful, a showcase of the land’s finest. It’s paired with a red wine–braised beef short rib, slow-cooked until luxuriously soft. A delicate brioche stuffing adds buttery sweetness, while a mushroom ragoût and fragrant Madagascar peppercorns lend layers of depth and warmth. The dish is finished with a silky veal jus, tying every element together. On the side, a crisp-edged yet creamy baked thyme and Parmesan pavé offers a refined twist on classic comfort, while freshly roasted seasonal vegetables complete the plate with color and balance.

Light and indulgent, our Strawberry Mango Mousse Parfait is a vibrant finale that delights the senses with every spoonful. Silky layers of strawberry and mango mousse unfold their natural sweetness and bright, tropical notes creating a refreshing contrast that is both elegant and uplifting. Each layer is crafted to showcase the purity of the fruit, airy yet indulgent, with a luscious texture that melts effortlessly on the palate. Beneath it all, a delicate vanilla biscuit adds subtle warmth and gentle crunch, grounding the dessert. Beautifully composed and entirely plantbased, this vegan creation is a celebration of simplicity transformed into sophistication, a light, luxurious finale that lingers with freshness, sweetness, and the joyful essence of the season.

A timeless classic reimagined with modern elegance, our Grand Marnier Crème Brûlée offers a luxurious dessert that is both indulgent and beautifully refined. Beneath a layer of caramelized sugar, its golden surface gives way to a silky, citrus-infused custard, delicately imbued Grand Marnier. Each spoonful melts effortlessly on the palate, a harmonious balance of creamy richness and subtle orang. A crisp, aromatic orange tuile crowns the dessert, while a vibrant medley of seasonal berries adds a burst of freshness, natural sweetness, and visual allure. Vegan and gluten-free, this reimagined classic proves that elegance and indulgence require no compromise, a refined, contemporary twist on tradition that delights both the palate and the senses.

Shopping for Moms, Grandmothers, and Sisters at Blissful Bridal

Weddings are about love, but they’re also about family. While the spotlight shines brightest on the couple, weddings are milestone moments for the women who stand beside them too - mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and close family members. These women carry their own unique emotions into the day: pride, joy, nostalgia, and sometimes a touch of bittersweet as they step into new roles. And just like the bride, they want to feel beautiful, confident, and special without ever overshadowing the star of the day.

For more than 20 years, Blissful Bridal in Calgary has been helping women find not only their perfect gown but also their moment of confidence. Whether it’s a mother-of-the-bride searching for a dress that balances elegance and comfort, or a sister of the groom wanting something stylish but understated, Theresa and her team understand that these choices carry weight. It’s not simply about a dress, it’s about honoring who you are and what you mean to the couple.

The Emotional Milestone for Moms

For a mother, her child’s wedding is one of the biggest milestones of her life. It’s a day where memories of childhood bubble up in flashes - first steps, school photos, high school graduations - and now, here she is, preparing to watch her son or daughter walk into a new life.

It’s not unusual for moms to wrestle with conflicting emotions. There’s pride and happiness, but also the recognition that a chapter is closing. In the midst of this, the simple act of choosing a dress becomes deeply symbolic. The right gown should reflect who she is today: confident, graceful, and ready to step into her role as mother-of-the-bride or groom with poise.

Theresa has seen this moment play out countless times at Blissful Bridal. She knows it’s not just about style or fit; it’s about understanding the woman in front of her. She listens carefully to what moms say, and sometimes even more closely to what they don’t say. Is she worried about being too flashy? Too plain? Is she hoping for a little sparkle, but hesitant to admit it? Theresa’s attention to detail goes beyond the fabric and stitching, it reaches to the heart of the woman in the dress.

The Role of Grandmothers

Grandmothers hold a unique place in a wedding day. They are living legacies, bridges between generations, and often the ones who have passed down family traditions. For them, attending a wedding is a family celebration, and a continuation of their story.

Shopping for a grandmother’s outfit carries its own considerations. Comfort is essential, but so is elegance. She may want a gown that feels classic without being old-fashioned, or a color that compliments the wedding palette without being too bold. Theresa and her team understand how to strike this balance, helping grandmothers choose dresses that honor their role without feeling overlooked.

Blissful Bridal’s curated selection of formal wear makes it possible to find the right piece, which can be especially helpful for women who may not want to go through a long process of fittings and alterations. With national shipping, grandmothers from outside Calgary can also feel included in the same thoughtful process.

Choosing a dress for a sister or close family member often involves more fashionforward choices: something modern, fun, and flattering. It’s about personality, not just tradition. At Blissful Bridal, sisters find a variety of evening wear and formal gowns that strike the right chord between festive and respectful.

Theresa encourages sisters to think about what reflects their own confidence, while still keeping the bride at the center of attention. It’s about harmony: everyone feeling beautiful in their own way without competing with one another.

Balancing Beauty Without Upstaging

One of the most common concerns moms, grandmothers, and sisters express is the fear of upstaging the bride. This is where thoughtful styling guidance makes all the difference.

Theresa and her team help clients navigate this balance by considering color, fabric, and cut. Jewel tones, soft neutrals, and classic silhouettes often strike the perfect note for mothers and grandmothers. Sisters may go for trendier designs, but still within a palette that complements rather than clashes.

Theresa reminds every woman that looking beautiful doesn’t take away from the bride, it enhances the day. When the bride sees her loved ones glowing with confidence, she feels more supported and celebrated.

Why Blissful Bridal is Trusted by Generations

There’s a reason Blissful Bridal has been Calgary’s trusted bridal boutique for more than 20 years. It’s not just about dresses on racks, it’s about the experience.

Sisters, Daughters, and Close Friends

While mothers and grandmothers carry generational weight, sisters often bring the excitement and energy of the present. A sister may be a maid of honor, a bridesmaid, or simply attending as family, but no matter her role, she wants to celebrate in a way that feels personal.

Blissful Bridal offers customizable designer options, so you can personalize your gown’s size, color, or style to make it truly your own. They provide no-charge one-on-one appointments, giving Theresa and her team the chance to focus entirely on you. For brides who can’t shop in person, national shipping is available, ensuring you still receive the Blissful Bridal care.

Most importantly, it’s about Theresa’s personal touch. Her attention to detail extends beyond the fabric, to the person wearing it. Each woman leaves the boutique with a gown she loves and with the confidence that she has been truly seen and celebrated.

A wedding is more than a single day. It’s a milestone that weaves together generations of women, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and friends. Their presence is a reminder of love’s continuity, and their gowns are an outward reflection of their pride and joy.

Shopping for these women isn’t about finding “just another dress.” It’s about honoring their place in the story, helping them feel confident, and celebrating who they are.

At Blissful Bridal in Calgary, Theresa and her team understand this better than anyone. For over two decades, they’ve guided brides and their families through these meaningful choices with care, expertise, and heart. Because when a woman feels beautiful, she shines, and that light makes the wedding day even brighter. Book your appointment today. Your perfect wedding or formal gown is waiting.

GRAZE & SIP

Elevate your event with bottomless charcuterie & champagne.

VENUE HOST NATURES CLARITY SKINCARE, LETHBRIDGE ALBERTA

There’s something undeniably magical about gatherings where food and conversation flow freely, where laughter fills the air, and where every detail feels intentional. Enter the charcuterie cart: a mobile experience that transforms your event from ordinary to extraordinary.

Graze & Sip crafts moments. Melanie Van Seters, the heart and visionary behind the business, has built her brand around the simple belief that food brings people together. But not just any food. Artisanal cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, and gourmet treats, are all curated with care and served from a stunning, mobile cart that’s as beautiful as it is functional.

Whether you’re planning a wedding, milestone celebration, or an intimate gathering, Graze & Sip turns a food service into a statement piece. One that encourages connection, indulgence, and, most importantly, memorymaking.

What is a Charcuterie Cart?

A charcuterie cart might look like a luxurious board on wheels, but it’s so much more. Unlike a static table of snacks, the cart is a mobile, interactive experience that draws guests in. It’s sculpted to create a visual feast, with perfectly styled tiers of cured meats, artisanal cheeses, fresh fruit, nuts, and sweet bites.

Here’s what sets a Graze & Sip cart

apart:

Individual mini boards: Every guest receives their own mini board, which is served by a professional attendant with whatever they choose from the cart. It’s beautiful, it keeps the experience tidy and hygienic, no multiple hands reaching into shared platters, or the dreaded double dipping.

Continual freshness: Items are replenished throughout the event, so every bite is as fresh as the first. Special individual ice packs keep everything perfectly chilled, from cheeses to fruits, ensuring that presentation and taste stay flawless.

Versatility: Fully collapsible and easy to transport, the carts can be set up indoors or outdoors, making them adaptable to any space or venue.

A social hub: Beyond being a food display, the cart naturally encourages guests to gather, sip, and connect, becoming a conversation starter and a shared experience at any celebration.

In short, it’s not just about grazing, it’s about experiencing food together.

Bottomless? Yes, please!

One of the most talked-about features of Graze & Sip is the “bottomless” concept. Guests can come to the cart as many times as they like, building their boards over and over throughout the event. Cocktail hour, late-night bites, or even brunch-style celebrations. There’s no limit to indulgence.

This approach keeps the energy of your event flowing. Guests move around, chat, laugh, and interact while being served fresh, thoughtfully curated bites. And for the host, it’s stress-free. No worrying about overordering or running out. The cart keeps replenishing, and everyone gets a taste of everything.

How to choose your items

Graze & Sip offers a menu that allows you to choose 12 items for your cart, from classic cheeses and cured meats to seasonal fruits and gourmet treats. But it doesn’t stop there. If you have a specific sweet treat in mind, or want to include something meaningful from a local bakery or artisan, Melanie and her team are happy to customize.

Setting up and serving

Graze & Sip sets up for 2.5 hours, the perfect window for cocktail hour or a late-night charcuterie break. Extra hours are available if your celebration calls for it.

Guests are served individually by attendants, keeping the display fresh, polished, and personalized, like a boutique experience that continues to wow long after the first bite.

Perfect pairings: Champagne, wine, and more

Charcuterie is indulgent, but pair it with a glass of bubbles or the perfect wine, and it becomes an experience. Graze & Sip makes pairing simple and approachable:

Dry Champagne + Salty Meats & Aged Cheddar: The crisp acidity cuts through richness.

Sweeter Champagne + Brie or Camembert: A creamy delight with a hint of sweetness.

Rosé + Brie: Light and elegant.

Pinot Grigio + Creamy Cheese & Fresh Fruit: Refreshing and balanced. Riesling + Salty Meats: A chef’s kiss of flavor contrast.

Merlot + Aged Cheddar & Salami: Smooth, bold, and sophisticated. Cabernet Sauvignon + Rich Cheeses: Deep, layered flavors that linger on the palate.

Graze & Sip also offers mocktail options or sparkling beverages that complement your selections, so everyone leaves with a smile.

The philosophy behind Graze & Sip

Melanie Van Seters’ vision for Graze & Sip is simple but powerful: to create extraordinary moments through food and drink. Growing up, she loved entertaining, watching how shared meals brought people together. That sense of connection became the foundation of her business.

Her mobile charcuterie and champagne carts are a carefully designed experience. Every detail is considered: the selection of ingredients, the styling of the cart, the way each guest is served. Melanie pours her heart into ensuring that every bite, every sip, and every moment feels intentional and elevated.

For her, it’s about creating memories that linger long after the last bite. When guests leave with laughter in their hearts and full boards in their hands, the event has succeeded.

Why it works for weddings & events

Charcuterie carts fit seamlessly into any celebration, and here’s why couples and hosts love them:

Visual Statement: Unlike a traditional table or board, the cart becomes a focal point. Its design is meant to draw eyes and invite interaction. Hygienic & Fresh: Individual mini boards and continuous replenishment keep things tidy and appetizing.

Interactive & Social: Guests naturally gather around the cart, creating energy, conversation, and connection.

Customizable: From menu items to styling, each cart is curated for the client’s taste and the event’s aesthetic.

Versatile: Perfect indoors or outdoors, during cocktail hour, late-night snacks, or brunch celebrations.

The Graze & Sip experience provides a way to bring people together beautifully.

Food has a way of connecting people that nothing else can. Graze & Sip takes that magic to the next level, transforming it into a stylish, interactive, and unforgettable part of your celebration. Whether it’s a wedding, anniversary, corporate event, or intimate gathering, these charcuterie and champagne carts are a statement piece, a conversation starter, and a memory maker.

With Graze & Sip, every bite is intentional, every sip is celebratory, and every moment is designed to linger long after the last plate is cleared.

FROM CEREMONY RECEPTION TO

Floral arches that elevate every momentof your day

A floral journey

Every wedding tells a story. The floral arch is often the first page. As guests arrive, their eyes are drawn immediately to its grandeur. It speaks without words: “This is where the love story begins.” Beneath it, you exchange vows, surrounded by beauty that feels timeless and intentional.

But Flora’s arches aren’t meant to stay in one place. After the ceremony, they can be gently moved into new roles. Behind the head table, they frame the newlyweds in elegance. At the entrance to the reception, they welcome guests with the same romance they felt during the vows. As a backdrop for a dessert display or photo booth, they create spaces where guests linger, mingle, and capture their own memories.

The result is a seamless floral journey. A sense of flow where the design carries through the entire day, guiding guests as though every petal was placed with them in mind.

Beyond the centerpieces

Of course, the arch is the star. But Flora encourages couples to think about how the rest of the florals can play a supporting role. Rather than limiting flowers to the center of each table, imagine how blooms can weave through the entire reception.

Picture a long banquet table where a runner of florals cascades like a garden in full bloom, echoing the same tones and textures as the arch. Imagine cocktail tables adorned with tiny bud vases, each holding a delicate blossom that feels like a whisper of the main design. Think of a single bloom at each guest’s place setting, waiting to greet them with floral beauty.

These details may seem small, but they transform the atmosphere. Guests feel enveloped in a story, where each touchpoint is connected and every moment feels intentional.

The art of scale and dimension

A floral arch has drama. It rises high above, commanding attention and setting the tone. But what makes the design truly come alive is balance. Flora’s philosophy is to play with scale: mixing towering arrangements with intimate, low clusters so that the room feels dynamic and alive.

From one angle, guests see the sweep of the arch behind the head table, drawing their eyes up. From another, they notice the delicate floral accents at their own place setting, drawing their gaze back down. It’s a rhythm of grandeur and intimacy, scale and detail. The effect is harmony, an atmosphere that feels both breathtaking and welcoming.

Why renting an arch feels like the smartest love story

For all their beauty, fresh floral arches can carry a heavy price tag. Many couples are shocked to discover that a single arch can cost as much as $6,000 or more, only to be dismantled hours later. Flora offers a different story: breathtaking arches, meticulously designed with faux florals, at a fraction of the cost.

Renting is a practical, thoughtful way of saying, “We value beauty, but we also value the life we’re building together.”

There are moments in a wedding that stay with you forever: the first glimpse of your partner at the end of the aisle, the vows whispered beneath a canopy of blooms, the laughter shared with friends as the night unfolds. These memories live in the heart, but they also live in the spaces we create.

That’s the power of a floral arch. It frames your ceremony, and it sets the scene for everything that follows. It’s the storybook opening to your day, the focal point of your reception, and the backdrop to photographs you’ll treasure for a lifetime. With Flora Arch Rentals, couples are discovering that a floral arch can be the golden thread that ties the entire celebration together.

Behind the arches: A passion for beautiful, smart weddings

At the heart of Flora is Sue, the creative mind who blends artistry with practicality. With a background in business finance, she understood early on that spending thousands of dollars on flowers destined for the compost heap didn’t make sense. Couples deserved better.

Flora was born from this conviction: that weddings can be stunning without compromise. Every arch Sue creates is a canvas for love, designed with classical elegance and modern flair. She pours her heart into each detail so couples can stand beneath something that feels as unique and extraordinary as their own story.

When couples rent with Flora, they’re choosing a philosophy that beauty should be breathtaking but never wasteful, romantic but always intentional and always beautiful.

The frame for forever

Your wedding day is the story of your love, told in vows, in laughter, in music, and in the spaces you create. A floral arch frames those moments in beauty. It’s there when you promise forever. It’s there when you’re introduced as a married couple for the first time. It’s there in photographs you’ll revisit again and again.

With Flora, that arch is more than flowers. It’s a piece of artistry that follows you through the day, tying every chapter together in beauty, elegance, and meaning. And in the end, it becomes more than décor. It becomes part of the memory.

FLORAL DETAILS

Guests Always Notice

Flowers have a way of weaving themselves into memory. Guests may not recall every song played or every menu choice, but they always remember the feeling of being surrounded by beauty. Certain floral touches stand out more than others, leaving a lasting impression that lingers long after the last dance. Here are the details they’re most likely to notice:

The Ceremony Backdrop

Guests may not remember the chair covers, but they will remember what you stood beneath when you said your vows. The arch sets the stage for everything.

The Head Table

Eyes are always drawn to the couple during dinner. A floral statement behind the head table elevates every photo and makes the space feel intentional.

Personal Touches at Place Settings

Whether it’s a single bloom tucked into a napkin or a sprig of greenery tied with ribbon, these small details feel luxe and make every guest feel considered.

Transitions Between Spaces

Moving the arch to the reception or styling mini florals on cocktail tables shows thoughtfulness. Guests notice when the design feels cohesive from start to finish.

Photo Opportunities

Anything that doubles as a backdrop for guest photos will be remembered—and shared. Floral arches behind dessert tables or lounges invite guests to linger and capture the magic.

3 Smart Ways to Repurpose Your Arch

Behind the Head Table

Give your vows a second act by moving the arch behind the couple at dinner. It frames speeches, toasts, and candid moments with elegance.

Reception Entrance

Let your guests walk through the romance. Placed at the doors, the arch makes every arrival feel grand.

Dessert or Photo Backdrop

Transform a sweet table or lounge area into a photo-worthy feature. Guests love a backdrop, and this one guarantees beautiful memories.

At JL Cake & Chocolate, owner and artist Jen sees every wedding cake as a blend of design, flavour, and heritage. Her great-grandmother once stood by a coal-fired stove, pulling candy by hand not for luxury but for survival. The idea that sweetness carries us through hardship, and the simplest ingredients into something extraordinary.

Design Beyond the Cake

With a background in graphic design, Jen approaches cakes with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a craftswoman. Scale, proportion, and placement matter as much as color or decoration. She reminds couples to picture the cake in its space: will it shine in the corner of a rustic barn, or glow under the chandeliers of a ballroom? Great lighting can turn sugar flowers into sculptures and metallic accents into glowing jewels. For Jen, a cake isn’t complete until it looks like it was meant to live in its setting.

Flavour Is the Heart

Beauty may catch the eye, but flavour captures the heart. Jen delights in creating custom flavours that reflect her couples, turning a favorite dessert into a cake filling or weaving meaningful ingredients into Italian meringue. Think lavender for the couple who loves summer gardens, or dark chocolate with raspberry for the bride who can’t resist a rich indulgence. Jen works with flavours as a medium to tell a story.

Personalization Tells Your Story

Jen believes a wedding cake should never feel like it came from a trend board. Personalization transforms it into something timeless. Handpainted sugar blooms that echo your bouquet or subtle nods to your heritage or love story, every detail should be crafted to feel deeply personal. Her years in design taught her that details matter, that when done right, leaves a lasting impression.

The Timeline Matters

Behind every delicate sugar petal and gilded edge are hours of painstaking work. Jen recommends couples begin planning their cake three to four months before the wedding. A tasting usually happens about a month out, giving time to finalize flavours while she crafts intricate designs that can take weeks, or even months, to perfect. Her philosophy is simple: quality art takes time, and your wedding deserves nothing less.

MAKING YOUR

Wedding Cake a Masterpiece

SOME CAKES ARE SIMPLY DESSERTS. OTHERS ARE HEIRLOOMS-IN-THE-MAKING, WORKS OF ART THAT TELL A LOVE STORY IN SUGAR AND DESIGN.

Rethinking Tradition

Many couples ask about saving the top tier of their cake for the first anniversary. Jen explains that tradition originated with fruitcakes heavy in alcohol, which preserved well over time. Modern cakes rarely survive the freezer without losing their texture and flavour. Instead, she recommends ordering a fresh mini cake each year. A delicious way to honor tradition while ensuring every anniversary celebration is just as sweet as the first.

Budget for Art

A wedding cake is not just sugar, butter, and flour. It is sculpture, design, and memory combined into something edible. Jen encourages couples to view their cake as an investment in artistry. It’s an indulgence that will appear in photos, in rituals, and in the joy of each guest’s first bite. True cake artistry demands patience and devotion.

Why Choosing the Right Baker Matters

Wedding planning can make details feel overwhelming, but the right baker turns complexity into confidence. Jen’s twenty years of experience in design and her relentless pursuit of perfection mean every cake she creates is intentional, elegant, and deeply personal. For Jen, cake is a love letter, one that lingers long after the last slice is gone.

With JL Cake & Chocolate, your wedding cake will be a masterpiece, crafted with courage, precision, and heart.

Kinloch Grove & Earth Buds Florist WHEN

VENDORS COLLABORATE

“When vendors communicate well, everything feels seamless, meaningful, and intentional.”

Allie, Kinloch Grove

“Little hiccups don’t become major crises when vendors already trust one another.”

Laura, Earth Buds Florist

The truth is, the most seamless, memorable weddings aren’t just about beautiful design or great timelines. They’re about connection. About vendors who know how to communicate, collaborate, and genuinely care, not only about their own role, but about the entire experience you’re creating.

That’s why we’re passionate about telling stories like this one. How Kinloch Grove Wedding and Event Centre, paired with Earth Buds Florist, became a perfect example of what happens when vendors work together beautifully.

Why Collaboration Matters

As a couple, you’re relying heavily on professionals to guide the process.

From Allie’s perspective as a venue owner, strong communication between vendors allows everyone to do their best work. When Laura reached out before ever stepping foot on the property, asking thoughtful questions about the space, layout, and amenities, it immediately set the tone for a successful working relationship.

What Seamless Collaboration Looks Like in Real Life

Problem solving happens quietly, constantly, on wedding days. Florals arrive early. Décor gets adjusted. A breeze changes how an installation behaves. A last minute timeline shift requires flexibility. When vendors already trust one another, these moments are handled efficiently and calmly, often without the couple ever knowing there was a hiccup at all.

The Venue–Florist Relationship: A Key Design Partnership

The relationship between a venue and a florist is especially impactful. Together, they shape not just how a wedding looks, but how it feels and flows.

At Kinloch Grove, the layout was intentionally designed to feel like a discovery. A winding entrance road, a hand laid brick path

Tucked away on 76 acres in Manitoba’s Interlake region, Kinloch Grove offers couples a wedding experience that feels like a getaway. With sweeping natural surroundings, nearby beach access, and destination-style vibes, it’s a place where guests can settle in, stay awhile, and truly celebrate. Family-run since 2018, the team has thoughtfully designed the property to host summer weddings of up to 150 guests, with essential amenities included to make planning feel refreshingly uncomplicated.

Kinloch Grove proudly welcomes LGBTQIA2S+ marriages and believes every love story deserves a setting that feels personal, relaxed, and unforgettable. If you’re dreaming of a wedding that blends nature, community, and laid-back elegance, this hidden gem is well worth discovering.

through the trees, a ceremony site tucked into its own secluded pocket of forest. Every space feels separate, yet nothing is far. Guests, vendors, and couples move through the day with ease. When a florist understands this layout - and knows the venue team personally - design decisions become more thoughtful. Where florals are placed, how installations interact with traffic flow, what structures can support weight, and how natural elements can be enhanced rather than overwhelmed all come into focus.

What Couples Often Don’t See, But Benefit From Most

It’s easy to assume that vendors individually know everything. The reality is that no one does, and that’s okay. What matters is that vendors are willing to talk to one another.

As Allie explains, vendor communication bridges the gaps. It allows professionals to see the full picture and catch details before they become issues. It reassures couples that the right questions have been asked. Laura adds another important perspective: clarity and respect for roles. Florists, venues, photographers, and makeup artists are not wedding coordinators. When couples provide clear information - timelines, inspiration, vendor listsand keep communication open, each professional can focus on what they do best.

What We Hope You Take Away as a Couple

Your wedding should feel supported, not stressful. Thoughtful, not chaotic. Personal, not cookie cutter. And that only happens when the people you hire communicate well, respect one another’s expertise, and genuinely care about your experience. Choose vendors who talk to each other. Who are excited to work together in your space. Trust the referrals that come from experience, not obligation. Those connections matter more than you might realize.

Because when collaboration is strong, your wedding day looks and feels beautiful.

Located in Winkler, Earth Buds is more than a flower shop. It’s a creative studio where thoughtful design and heartfelt celebration come together. Now under the ownership of Laura and Rochelle, this boutique space is rooted in compassion and collaboration, offering couples a personalized approach to floral styling that feels both intentional and inspired.

From dried and silk florals to lush houseplants, curated pots, and floral-inspired keepsakes, Earth Buds creates pieces that live on long after the last dance. Whether you’re planning a wedding, engagement, or meaningful milestone, their work brings warmth, texture, and personality to every moment.

FLAWLESS Five

There’s a certain kind of glow that no highlighter can replicate. The kind that comes from skin that’s genuinely healthy, calm, and loved. In the months leading up to your wedding day, your skincare routine becomes more than a ritual; it’s an act of self-care, a moment of pause in the whirlwind of planning. Building a healthy relationship with your skin means choosing products that nurture, protect, and enhance your natural beauty, so that when the big day arrives, your makeup artist has the perfect canvas to create that ethereal, luminous finish. These five skincare essentials are some of our favourites for every bride seeking that coveted wedding-day radiance for a glow that’s timeless, confident, and completely your own.

hydrating serum

Product: Vichy Mineral 89 Booster (Serum)

Why we love it: It shows up in Canadian ranking lists of hydrating serums. Serums that are rich in hyaluronic acid (and humectants) are key for a plumper, smoother surface.

How it fits: After cleansing, apply this as your “prep” before any stronger active serums or moisturiser. It boosts hydration so your skin sits better under makeup and feels healthy.

Pro tip: Use it both morning & evening. In the weeks leading to your wedding, you might skip starting brand-new “power” serums and instead lean into hydration and barrier support.

moisturizer for glowing skin

Product: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

cleanser

Product: CeraVe Foaming Facial

Why we love it: This is frequently cited in Canadian cleansers lists. It’s described as a dermatologistdeveloped option that removes makeup, dirt and oil without disrupting the skin barrier.

Why we love it: Moisturisers that deliver glow (via good ingredients: ceramides, hyaluronic acid, barrier support) are highly recommended by editors and dermatologists for that radiant finish.

How it fits: After serums, apply your moisturiser morning and night. On the day of your wedding, you might choose a lighter version in the morning (so your make-up sits well) and heavier in the evening (for recovery).

Pro tip: The smoother your skin surface (thanks to good moisturizer + hydration), the easier your makeup artist’s job. Skip new rich creams just before your day to avoid any unpredictable reaction.

How it fits: Use morning and night. A must for your morning prep schedule, this is the “foundation” step: consistent, nonfussy, and kind to your skin so your make-up artist has a smooth canvas.

Pro tip: If you wear a full face of makeup or sunscreen the night before or the day of, consider a double cleanse (first oil/balm, then this foaming cleanser) so you aren’t dealing with residual buildup.

brightening/texture-defining serum

Product:

Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum

Why we love it: The “brightening serums” category is well recognized for helping skin tone, texture and glow. Canadian reviewers list this product among their best brightening picks.

How it fits: Use in the morning (if it’s vitamin C-based) under sunscreen, or in the evening on alternate nights if you’re using mild exfoliants/ textural treatments.

Pro tip: Because brightening serums can be more “active”, start them a few months ahead of your wedding rather than right before. Stop introducing anything new ~1-2 weeks out to minimize risk of irritation.

broad-spectrum sunscreen

Product: La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 (sunscreen)

Why we love it: Sunscreen is non-negotiable. Canadian/ dermatology-approved sources indicate you should choose SPF 30+ (preferably 50) and make it part of daily routine. How it fits: Every morning, as the final skincare step before make-up. On your wedding day, ensure the sunscreen you use works well under foundation and doesn’t cause pilling or flash-back in photos.

Pro tip: In the weeks leading up, protect your skin from UV damage so that you’re not dealing with sunburn, uneven tone or irritation when your makeup artist arrives.

IVAN JOHN FILMS SASKATOON, SK

Wedding Films Rooted in Real Moments

There is something incredibly powerful about being able to step back into your wedding day — not just remembering how it looked, but how it felt. That is exactly where Ivan John Video shines. Based in Saskatoon, Ivan is a wedding videographer who approaches every celebration with heart, humility, and a deep respect for the stories unfolding in front of him.

For Ivan, wedding videography is more than documenting a timeline of events. It is about witnessing the celebration of life, love, friendship, and family — and understanding the privilege of being invited into such an intimate day. That mindset shows in every film he creates. From the quiet moments of anticipation in the morning to the laughter, emotion, and energy that carry through the evening, Ivan captures weddings as they naturally happen, without interruption or forced direction.

His style leans strongly toward documentary and candid storytelling, with very few poses. Rather than staging moments, Ivan allows them to unfold organically, keeping a watchful eye on the subtle details that couples often miss in real time — a reassuring squeeze of the hand, a shared laugh between friends, a tearful glance from a parent. These are the moments that become priceless once the day has passed, and Ivan is intentional about preserving them.

What truly sets Ivan apart is his commitment to creating wedding films that feel personal and meaningful. Each film is crafted with intention, designed to reflect the couple’s unique story rather than fitting into a template. The result is a wedding video that feels honest, emotional, and deeply personal — one that brings couples back to the atmosphere of their day every time they press play.

Ivan believes that the most impactful wedding films are the ones that allow couples to relive their celebration exactly as it happened. His work is not about trends or overly produced edits; it is about authenticity, connection, and memory. The films he creates are meant to be revisited for years to come — on anniversaries, quiet evenings at home, and moments when couples want to remember not just what their wedding looked like, but why it mattered so much.

Five Reasons You Need a Wedding Video

1. Relive the emotions, not just the visuals Photography captures stunning still moments, but video brings the emotions back to life. Hearing your vows, the laughter during speeches, and the emotion in your voices allows you to fully relive the day in a way photos alone cannot. A wedding video lets you experience those feelings again, exactly as they happened.

2. See the moments you missed No matter how present you try to be, your wedding day goes by quickly. A wedding video captures the behind-the-scenes moments — your partner’s reaction before the ceremony, guests arriving, and interactions you may never have seen. These details often become some of the most meaningful parts of the film.

3. Preserve voices, movement, and atmosphere There is something incredibly special about hearing the voices of loved ones and seeing their expressions in motion. From a parent’s speech to a spontaneous laugh on the dance floor, video preserves the energy and atmosphere of your wedding day in a way nothing else can.

4. Share your story with future generations A wedding film becomes a family heirloom. It allows future children, family members, and loved ones to experience your story and see the people who were there to celebrate with you. It is a legacy piece that grows more valuable over time.

5. Experience your wedding day again and again Long after the dress is packed away and the flowers have faded, your wedding video remains. It allows you to step back into one of the most meaningful days of your life whenever you want — reminding you not just of how beautiful it was, but of the love that surrounded you.

FROM TREND TO TIMELESS OUR GUIDE TO PLANNING A WEDDING THAT FEELS LIKE YOU

Let’s talk about you and your wedding. Around here, we see trends come and go faster than you can say “Pinterest board.” But what always lasts? The weddings that feel true to who you are.

As a creative team that lives and breathes weddings, we’ve seen every palette, floral trend, and décor style imaginable. We’ve worked with couples who dream in soft neutrals, others who thrive on colour, and some who just want their day to feel effortless and personal. And here’s what we know for sure: the most memorable weddings are the ones that reflect your story, not someone else’s highlight reel.

How do you balance staying true to your personality, embracing trends, and working with what’s available, especially when your wedding day is still a year or two away? Let’s walk through it together.

BE TRUE TO YOUR STYLE AND PERSONALITY

Every wedding trend starts as someone’s authentic expression. That’s where the magic happens. Whether you’re drawn to minimalist design, bold fashion moments, or cozy, nature-inspired details, your day should sound, look, and feel like you.

We always tell couples: before you pin, post, or purchase, pause and ask, “Does this feel like us?”

Maybe that means swapping the classic white bouquet for an earthy arrangement of dried florals, or trading the ballroom venue for a backyard celebration under the stars. Whatever you choose, make sure it represents your relationship and your lifestyle.

Trends can be inspiring, but they shouldn’t dictate your story. Let them serve as a backdrop and not the main character. If a trend fits naturally into your personality, embrace it. If it doesn’t, let it go. The goal is to create a wedding that feels intentional, not imitated.

PRO TIP

Write down three words that describe your relationship - like modern, joyful, grounded - and use them to filter every decision. When something doesn’t match those words, it probably doesn’t belong in your day.

PLANNING AHEAD: WHEN YOUR WEDDING IS STILL A COUPLE OF YEARS AWAY

We know many of you are planners by nature. You’ve already started vision boards and booked your venue well in advance. But what if your wedding is still two years away? It’s natural to worry that the things you love now might not be in later.

Here’s the good news: timeless weddings aren’t defined by trends; they’re defined by meaning.

Start by locking in the foundations that won’t change:

The story you want your day to tell.

The people who matter most.

The emotions you want guests to feel.

From there, keep the rest flexible. Let your décor, stationery, and florals evolve closer to the date so you can incorporate the latest textures or tones that catch your eye.

Think of it like building a house. You lay the strong base now, but you can always repaint the walls later. By planning in layers, you stay adaptable and fresh without losing your original vision.

PRO TIP

Refresh your mood board every six months. As your style grows, your inspiration should too. Let your wedding design evolve with you, not against you.

HOW TO INCORPORATE COLOUR INTO TRENDS

Colour tells a story before a single word is spoken. It sets the mood, directs the atmosphere, and photographs beautifully when done with intention. We’re seeing couples lean into richer tones, more texture, and contrast. But trends aside, your colour palette should reflect your personality and your venue’s natural environment.

Start by picking one or two anchor colours that you naturally gravitate toward. These become your foundation. Then, use trend tones as accents. Maybe you adore sage but want to add a pop of contemporary plum. Or perhaps soft champagne feels timeless, but a bold rust brings warmth. This balance gives you longevity and a modern edge.

And remember, lighting and location play a huge role. A candlelit winter wedding in Canmore may glow in golds and creams, while a breezy summer Manitoba cottage country celebration could thrive in soft pastels or sunsoaked neutrals.

Don’t choose colours because they’re in. Choose them because they make you feel something.

PRO TIP

Create a mini sample palette using fabric swatches, ribbon, or floral photos and hold it up against your dress or suit colour. It’s a simple way to visualize how your tones work in real life.

WHEN THE FLOWERS YOU LOVE AREN’T IN SEASON

Ah, florals, the heart of so many wedding dreams. But if you’ve ever fallen in love with a bouquet that features blooms unavailable in your season or location, we promise there’s still hope.

Here’s a way to guide through it:

Focus on feeling, not the flower. If you love peonies, it’s likely their fullness and softness that captivate you. Ranunculus or garden roses can give the same look when peonies aren’t available.

Lean on your florist’s expertise. Local florists know what thrives in your season and can recommend substitutions that still create the mood you want.

Stay open to texture. Sometimes, the magic is in the mix. Branches, greenery, berries, or dried elements can bring unexpected beauty and dimension, especially in northern or winter weddings.

Plan ahead for sustainability. Imported flowers can come with higher costs and footprints. Blending in local or seasonal blooms makes your design more eco-friendly and meaningful.

Trust the process. The most breathtaking arrangements often come from flexibility. When you give your floral designer room to create, they’ll deliver something better than you imagined.

PRO TIP

Ask your florist for a floral mood board showing textures and tones rather than exact stems. This keeps expectations realistic and creativity flowing.

EXPERT TIPS FOR A PICTURE-PERFECT, AUTHENTIC WEDDING

Now that we’ve covered the big pieces, here are a few insider secrets we’ve learned after helping couples bring their vision to life:

Start with intention. Before you dive into design details, ask yourself: “What do we want guests to feel?” Joyful? Cozy? Elegant? Use that feeling as your compass for every choice.

Plan with breathing space. Build in time between moments on your wedding day. The best photos often come from quiet, unscripted pauses.

Choose the right creative partners. From your photographer to your planner, surround yourself with professionals who understand your vision and values. Chemistry matters as much as skill.

Embrace imperfection. The wind might blow your veil, or your cake might lean ever so slightly, and yet, those are the moments that make your day real. Include personal touches. Write your own vows, design a custom cocktail, or use family heirlooms in your décor. Those small nods to your story are what guests remember most.

Keep evolving. Trends shift. So does your taste. And that’s okay.

IN THE END

We believe your wedding shouldn’t feel like a competition. It should feel like coming home to yourself. Trends are exciting and inspiring, but they’re just a palette for your creativity, not the rulebook.

Your colour choices, décor, and details will all age beautifully when they come from a place of meaning. Trust your instincts. Collaborate with local talent. Let your day be a reflection of your love, not an imitation of someone else’s aesthetic.

When you walk down that aisle - whether surrounded by candlelight, wildflowers, or winter snow - it’s not the trend that guests will remember. It’s the way the day felt. The laughter, the tears, the joy that was unmistakably you.

And that, beautiful brides and handsome grooms, never goes out of style.

Written with collaboration and love by the Mint Creative Team Your wedding experts, storytellers, and forever believers in celebrating love, beautifully and authentically.
