MinsterFB | B Corp Impact Assessment | July 2024

Page 1

Welcome to our first Impact Report! We knew, 12 months ago, that our certification as a B Corp was just the beginning. The certification process sparked our imagination, and we had ambitions, ideas, plans, hopes and dreams. Some of these, inevitably, have become part of our year 2 plans, but we have been delighted with the number of commitments we have been able to honour and with the progress we have made over the past 12 months. Some of our commitments came from the materiality assessment that we completed as part of the certification process, and some were designed to move our score on postassessment. Overall, we have improved our score by 5.8 points in the last year, from 90.6 to 96.4.

We share our financials at our quarterly off-site team days as well as revisiting our purpose, vision, mission and values regularly. Transparent sharing in this way has become second nature to us.

We choose team day venues in interesting places local to us. Our 2024 team days so far have been at…

Training:

Our team have accessed some fantastic training in the last year, including First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Introduction to Line Management and studying for professional qualifications, as well as attending industry conferences and earning Amazon certifications. We also have our own Knowledge Hub to help new starts learn their role

Our Health Plan supports our team by providing 24/7 access to GP appointments as well as rebates for services such as dental- and eyecare. The plan covers partners and children too, giving everyone that peace of mind

The Plan

Completed in the last year

 3 Volunteering days per year

 1% of profits given to local charities and good causes

 Provided work experience opportunities for local students

 15% of purchases/services from local companies

 20% Job growth year on year

Planned for the coming year

 Program of workshops for local/minority owned/ethical businesses to support them selling on Amazon

 Conduct a review of job descriptions to ensure they are fully inclusive in their language

 4 Degree apprenticeships

We pride ourselves on the opportunities we are able to offer to local young people. We offer work placement years and summer internships to local students, work experience for school pupils and degree apprenticeships this year more than ever before.

However, it’s the volunteering days that always catch the imagination. We’ve done plenty of gardening for local good causes, planted trees and sourced and wrapped Cadbury Selection Boxes for local kids in care at Christmas.

Each volunteering day we do is as rewarding for us as it is for the good cause we are supporting.

The Plan

 Progress towards zero to landfill commitment (due end 2024)

 Work anniversaries and other milestones celebrated with the planting of a Treedom Tree (50 trees in the last year) saving 27.25t of CO2

 12,717 miles of individual commuting delivered via cycling, car share or public transport

 6 Climate Perk additional holiday days provided to employees choosing not to fly on holiday

 Replacement of gas boiler with sustainable alternative

 Reduce energy usage by 5%

 Increase the number of Climate Pledge Friendly badge for our clients by 10% and communicate with additional product listing images

We don’t manufacture anything, so there are limits to what we can achieve environmentally, but we are actively seeking additional ways to reduce our impact on the planet including gifting trees and managing our waste carefully.

The Plan

 Client satisfaction survey completed and communicated publicly, with benchmarking

Planned for the coming year

 Improve on our customer satisfaction scores
