MINOTAREACHAMBEREDCPRESENTS ATAGTCANNUALMEETING

The AgTC (Agriculture Transportation Coalition) annual meeting was held June 13 – 16 in Seattle/Tacoma. Minot Area Chamber EDC representatives, along with intermodal partners, Rail Modal Group and the Northwest Seaport Alliance attended the event – which is sponsored in part by the Northwest Seaport Alliance.

Economic Development Specialist Mark Lyman gave a presentation to the more than 500 conference attendees on Minot’s journey to bring intermodal service for North Dakota through the Minot Intermodal Facility located at the Logistics Park of North Dakota Highlights of the presentation included a recognition of the many partners involved in this multi-year process, the current dockside service in Seattle that North Dakota producers/shippers enjoy, and the added value this shipping option presents regionwide

Participation and attendance at large-scale conferences of this type bring visibility and positive recognition for the efforts done by state officials, board volunteers, and staff to make large economic impacts a reality for our region.

Mark was provided a tour by the Northwest Seaport Alliance team of Terminals 5 and 18, where unit-trains of containers receive service by way of BNSF.
