Snowfall on solar panel arrays installed at low angles can render them inoperable during and after snow fall events in the winter season, which in Ontario lasts for the better part of 4 months. This heavily under-researched area causes VCT Group’s (Solar Energy Company) clients to experience financial losses due to the drop-off in solar energy production. SolarFlake is a mock-roof test stand that facilitates the analysis of snow clearing forces on solar panels, to help find cost effective solutions to this problem.
Drive System Test Jig| AlumaPower Corporation
Jan. 2024- May 2024
Independently designed and fabricated a drive system test jig using existing generator components for a 45kg heavy load test, receiving high complements from the Electrical Testing Team, to be used for all future motor verifications.
Tension Testing Fixture| SLACAN Industries Inc.
May 2023- Aug. 2023
Designed, 3D modelled, procured materials and coordinated manufacturing of a tension and compression fixture to CSA standards, used for the validation testing of power-installed screw anchors, to be repeatedly used in each production cycle.
Pick and Place Design Project|
Jan. 2023- Apr. 2023
Built and verified a conveyer belt-based pick and place mechanism to move multiple sizes/shapes of objects from a drop-off area to one of two storage areas using Arduinos, servo motors, linear actuators and other mechanical components.
Ramp Design Project | PCL Construction
Jan. 2022- Apr. 2022
Independently measured, designed, 3D modelled and created manufacturing part and assembly drawings of an offload ramp using SolidWorks.

Ramp Design Project | PCL Construction
Jan. 2022- Apr. 2022
Pile Adaptor Design Project | PCL Construction
Jan. 2022- Apr. 2022
Completed three different types of pile adaptor part drawings with suggested improvements from the current installed designs. Collaborated with the mechanical superintendent to engineer modifications. Drawings to be used for next manufacturing round.
Transformable Workstation Design Project
Jan. 2021- Apr. 2021
Initial Concepts and Drawings
• Designed, prototyped, and built an interactive SolidWorks model of a transformable workstation which adapted to various activities within a single room, receiving an excellent rating by faculty members at the final design presentation
• Performed a bearing load simulation in SolidWorks to ensure the design supported 100 kg, a material selection analysis using CES EduPack, prototyped the manufacturing process, and presented a cost analysis of every material and labour cost
• Led three team members in design reporting and troubleshooting, demonstrating excellent communication and organizational skills using MS Office at monthly design review meetings and preparing a detailed design report
Final CAD Model
CAD Drawings
2020-2021
All drawings completed using AutoCAD.
Design Entrepreneurship Project at SHAD Carleton
June 2019-July 2019
• Founded a start-up company called ProMesh, creating sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives to plastic bags to reduce the significant amount of plastic waste created by the grocery store industry
• Drafted patent documents, performed market research and consulted on similar designs throughout the design process
• Gained strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills through building a physical model, drafting a financial and business plan, making informed decisions under pressure, managing deadlines, and giving a presentation at the annual Design Entrepreneurship Competition at which our team won the SHAD Choice Award for the best overall project
