Mach1 Capital gives Wisconsinites the chance to invest in local real estate without the usual hassles of property ownership.
ANTHONY AND TERESA MACHI founded Mach1 Capital in 2016. With over three decades of corporate finance and real estate experience between them, the husband and wife started the Milwaukee-based private debt fund with a vision to give investors new, alternative opportunities outside of traditional stocks and bonds.
Mach1’s investments are backed by real estate. Investing in that market provides potential protection against inflation and diversifies a portfolio. “Having physical assets such as real estate acts as hedges in today’s market,” says Teresa.
“We provide investors with stable, consistent monthly returns ranging from 10-12% annualized, all backed by tangible real estate assets,” says Anthony. “Our investors are paid monthly, and yields are tied to the investment itself providing more stability. With private real estate funds, you don’t have to deal with the usual day-to-day maintenance, or answering calls at 10 p.m., that often comes with owning property. It’s passive.”
Recently, Mach1 investors financed a real estate investment in Bay View. The buyer paid $158,000 for the property, renovated it and had the property reappraised at $233,000. With that improvement, he refinanced into long-term financing. The property now generates $750 a month in cash flow.
“For our investors, this presented not just another real estate investment but a chance to enhance a Bay View property and the neighborhood as a whole,” Teresa says. “Our strategic decision provided the capital to transform an outdated building into a modern rental unit.”
If someone is interested in investing with Mach1, they can set up a consultation. Mach1 Capital’s team meets with each potential investor to discuss financial goals and determine the right investment for them.
“Alternative investments historically have gotten better returns than most other investments,” says Anthony. “They’re not tied to anything public like the stock market, so it takes a lot of the volatility out of the equation.”
After an initial one-year investment term, Mach1 clients can reinvest or adjust their investment for improved returns.
“Mach1 Capital is a family-owned business, run by investors, so we understand what matters to our investors – reliable monthly returns, and a lending history with no foreclosures,” Anthony says. “The Mach1 team shares the same goal as its investors – achieving financial freedom while keeping investments local, setting ourselves apart from other investment managers.”
