SYNOPSIS

A homeless girl and her dog seek refuge under a bridge, hungry and desperate. The girl spots a nearby town and decides to find food. She comes across a bakery and notices a hiring poster on the window. Encouraged, she enters the bakery, hoping for a job. The bakery's owner, Simon, is preoccupied but eventually notices the girl's sign and decides to give her a chance. Amy, the girl, is thrilled and Simon hands her a jacket as a symbol of acceptance. Simon shows Amy around the bakery and takes her to the kitchen. He asks her to help mix dough while he tends to other tasks. Impressed by Amy's interest, Simon leaves her in the kitchen and goes back to the front. He realizes some bread display cases need restocking and asks Amy for assistance. They bring out more bread and Amy restocks the display cases. Tempted by a pastry, Amy considers taking it but changes her mind when Simon calls her. He scolds her for her momentary lapse and warns her about stealing. In the kitchen, Simon decides to test Amy's integrity once again. He gives her a basket for delivery and secretly observes her from the kitchen door. Amy leads the way to a spot under the bridge, but before she reaches it, Simon surprises her and catches her attention. The girl starts to cry, but Simon notices an injured dog behind her, desperate for food. Touched by compassion, Simon embraces the girl and takes both her and the dog back to the bakery, where they can provide care and support for them.

AMY

This is Amy, our main protagonist in our animation. She is homeless and strives to get food for herself and her dog, Doggo. We want the audience to love her cute appearance and understands her struggle with living as a homeless kid in the streets.

At first, the idea for Amy is just a normal looking girl, but after some research, we notice that the rounded face is more suited to younger girls where it gives off the adorable look to the character.

5

FINAL CHARACTER DESIGN

In her overall colours, we chose warm tone to give it more liveliness. We also combine some cool colours to show that she is homeless in a sense that she doesn't have shelter from the harsh environment.

6

SIMON

This is Simon, our supporting character in our animation. He is a hard-working baker who runs his own bakery. Simon also have a good heart to people who are in need of a helping hand because he had been through an event which changed his life.

In the earlier design, we wanted simon to look old, similar to that of a dad that is around 50 to 60 years old. We then change his design to make it look more fatherly figure by giving him a bigger belly.

7

His visual resembles that of a father, chubby belly, a bushy beard, and above average male height. His attire is more of a casual baker attire, with casual shirt underneath an apron, rather than a full baker attire.

FINAL CHARACTER DESIGN
