A “palace” for a woodpecker: Metal panelling and a welded roof encourage the bird to drum upon the habitat’s surface to amplify the volume of his vibrations. In doing so, this bird-house design creates a palace-like experience for the woodpecker, as he can now bring more wood-boring insects to the tree’s surface, attract a mate and mark his territory, thus affording him indulgence, romance and power.

University Charette Week Project “Parabolic Visions.�This assignment asked us to explore how we can enhance and/or distort our senses in a given environment. My proposal investigated how sound could be amplified, muffled and controlled using interlinking vacuum pipes that adjust audio paths. This concept allows the user to quieten areas they do not wish to hear, such as background traffic or gossip, and enhance other areas in the other ear, such as nature, instead.

Inhabit 1:100 sectional model: an integration of greenhouse balconies alongside maximised use of vegetable patches both private (around the entrances to accommodation) and public, with communal allotments on the first floor and rooftop, is designed to encourage selfgrow activity through residential areas and livelihood.

Long Section from the Giardini to the Lagoon, Venice: This graduation project explored how the co-existence of human and non-human occupation could be celebrated through creating spectacles engaging with nature. The open-air theatre and audience are framed by the lagoon’s sparkling turquoise

waters to expose performances to the elements and the city’s time-based ecological changes. The experience of the theatre shifts and changes with the seasons as the density of marine life, vegetation and human activity depends on weather, temperature, tidal patterns and sunlight.

Summer “Hay-house Party:” transforming a barn setting into a playful experience for guests. Hands-on experience creating atmospheric event décor using festival decorations and mood lighting to mimic another place.

2018 “Milltown Party:” inspired by the likes of Boomtown Fair Festival. “Milltown” brought a festival feeling through branded posters and Milltown dollars. Festival décor used to replicate some of Boomtown’s famous pop-up districts, such as suspended lanterns to resemble China Town.
