Night Fever
MillieMcCarthyThe theme for this editorial project is Night Fever. Inspired by AW22 trends that include sequins, glitter and shimmering garments and accessories to perfectly suit night life and the party season. This aesthetic is something I’ve spotted a lot on the high street fashion market, so I wanted to bring that into my project. We have been working with trend on other projects, which is something I have enjoyed. So, I was keen to establish a current trend and create my take on it. The shoot will follow the story of a night out, from the start of the night to the end; with the styling to be representative of this. In doing this, I will create two looks inspired by my theme using clothing, jewellery, accessories and props; as well as, working with photographers to bring my vision to life as best possible. This collaboration will be a chance for my work to be done in a more professional aspect.
I have chosen Dazed as my magazine, a fashion magazine known for its quirky and funky aesthetic. I wanted to use a magazine that I felt could provide a more creative outlet in terms of aspects such as location. Dazed has given me a range of ideas to include in my photoshoot, which I plan on conducting during my location shoots. As well as this, I have begun to visually research and create a range of mood boards to inspire photoshoots e.g., hair and makeup. This project will be an opportunity to develop my styling skills, in a creative way I haven’t explored before.
John Lewis
Our local John Lewis store offered studenton our course the opportunityto promote the course throughwork experience dressing a display. We had fullcreative freedom to choose a number of fabrics and create a small collection to be displayed in their shop. Our theme was ‘Summer Romance’.
LOROS Collaboration
We completed a sustainability project using denim donated to us by the LOROS charity, and were given the opportunityto dress their high street shop window to promote this. Some of the garments were sold, with the profits given to the charity. This was a good experience to practice some visual merchandising.
