Tell us something about you and When did you start blogging/social media, what was your motivation for getting started? I was born and brought up in Ludhiana, and most of my education happened in the same city. I’ve always been fond of cameras and pictures, and I believe I’ve always had a better view of things behind my camera’s viewfinder. With my interest in photography, I also developed interest in getting clicked, and started posting it on my social media handle. In a few months, the followers on my profile increased and people started supporting my content. Initially I got a chance to shoot with some brands like John Players and Lifestyle. The growing followers and brand shoots gave me motivation to shift my social media handle into my personal blog.

DIVING INTO THE WORLD OF INFLUENCER MARKETING WITH SHUBHAM SACHDEVA

Do you see yourself as an “influencer”, and if so, what does that mean to you? I do see myself as an “influencer”. Since one year or so, I have been involved in paid & barter collaborations with brands like Beardo, Max Protein, PowerGummies, Urban Mooch, Svish, Khadi Essentials, and many more. Influencer Marketing is a growing thing and people/consumers definitely see such content for reference and reviews. So, I believe such collaborations and brand features adds value to the brand, as well as the viewer and thus makes you an “influencer”. What is your biggest dream in life? I wish to travel the world. I’ve been a travel freak since years, and been to places within and outside the country. I carry deep love for mountains in my heart, and truly wish to have a sip of tea at different mountain ranges all around the globe.

@shubham_ss

The brands I’ve worked are a major part of our lifestyle. Be it clothing, health, skincare or food, I have collaborated with various brands. Naming a few of them: Max Protein, Power Gummies, Beardo, John Players, Urban Mooch, Svish, Khadi Essentials, French Essence and many more, and I would say I’m fond of all of it.

If you were to give someone advice to the people who wish to step into the world of influencer marketing what would it be?

Can you share any brands or campaigns you have worked on that you are particularly fond of?

Influencer Marketing and particularly Vlogging is the game of the era. I would totally recommend anyone who wishes to enter this field. The only focus should be on the quality of content you deliver. You don’t need high-spec gadgets to deliver good content. You can start it even with the very basic things and gadgets.

18A MULTITASKER WHO FLAUNTS HER WAY WHEREVER SHE GOES KRITIKA.G.SOIN (AUTHOR, FOUNDER OF KIYAH JAIPUR) "I've realised that a woman has to be dynamic, nobody knows where her life may take her and so she has to be well equipped to face life"

I was born and brought up in a family which emphasised on women's financial independence. From my grandfather to my father to my uncles, no one discriminated between boys and girls, rather encouraged the girls of the house to study and build something of themselves. In retrospect, I couldn't agree more with the upbringing since I've realised that a woman has to be dynamic, nobody knows where her life may take her and so she has to be well equipped to face life. I did my CA and CS and bagged amazing opportunities with multinationals at a very young age. Though I enjoyed working in finance, I knew in my heart I wanted to maintain my free spirit. As a person, I am hard-working, sincere and spiritual a staunch believer of karma yoga (from the Bhagvad Gita). I aspire to be kinder everyday, full of smiles and do my bit in making this world a beautiful place. Writing came to me very naturally, mostly from a place of belief - belief in true love, spiritual karmic bonds, and the exploration of the concept of twin flames.

Tell us a about you and your book Mirror soul, when did you realise you wanted to be an author?

little

As I began writing, I realised I was thoroughly enjoying cooking things up (fiction). It gave my dreamy mind a very constructive outlet. My style of writing is empathetic, I can place myself in a character's shoes and fluently deliver emotions. Mirror Soul is my first novel and I worked on it for quite a few years. Initially I thought it would just be my happy place, like something I was writing for fun, but then those who read the initial few drafts really enjoyed it and encouraged me to complete it. The novel is a first person narrative of her encounter and journey with her twin flame the chemistry, the challenges, the depth of commitment and the culmination of the relationship. It is a book for those who believe in cosmic relationships. It was almost at the end of my first novel that I realized I actually want to be an author. And after that I started writing my second novel. I am currently working on my third.

Where did the idea for your business Kiyah came from?

My mother is a fashion designer and a famous one at that. She began working decades ago and we (me and my brother) grew up amidst first a boutique at home, masters, tailors, and then stores outside of home, customers, fashion shows, models. It was one line of business I knew in and out of due to the exposure from my mother. Though I am not a designer myself, with an entrepreneurial mind and financial and managerial acumen, I designed a business model where I could assist smaller designers to reach out to the market. I have an eye for design and leveraging that I curate a collection for KIYAH What makes your company Kiyah stand out from all the other businesses in your niche?

KIYAH is a collaboration with different designers from different cities and brings forth a plethora of design variations, in harmony with the trends. What this provides to the consumer is an extensive variety to choose from and prevents stagnation of designs. Our outfits are ever evolving and very rarely would you see any repeats.

We stock designs that are trendy yet provide a value for money and have a sense of reusability. Having said that, our main motto is high customer satisfaction. We train all our staff to deal with every person that walks into the store with utmost patience and politeness, valuing the time, money and effort the client puts in while purchasing their outfit. We want the shopping experience to be nothing but fun and happy. And thus, providing a pleasant end-to-end customer service has leveraged a fair goodwill in the market. Word of mouth is our main source of advertising and we couldn't be more grateful to God for that.

I am also a StartUp mentor, I have been providing financial mentorship at Incubation Centres for 4 years now. I have not gotten time to do a lot of it in my own space but sometime someday soon. :) I hope overtime I can inspire Veda like my mother inspires me. Also, it helps that my husband is very supportive and loving.

What makes you stay motiovated at work/ how do you manage juggling between being a mother and an entrepreneur/ author?

Apart from the fact that I have always been working hard and it just comes very naturally to me now, the thing that keeps me going when it gets super hectic is the fact that I enjoy every moment of work. From attending to clients to laughing my worries away with my staff, from driving from one place to another to constantly gulping down my green tea cold, it can be tiring yet is all very enjoyable. As far as being an author is concerned, it is very erratic. Sometimes I write 1000 words a day and sometimes just about 100 and sometimes I don't feel like typing at all. One needs the perfect headspace to create. Being a working mother was extremely challenging in the first year. My baby was exclusively breast fed and KIYAH (my first baby) was just walking out of the COVID era with shaky legs. So I really had to battle with my own health issues, and my demanding daughters. I have taken Veda to work everyday with me and by now she absolutely loves it. The days she is at home, she clamors to go to 'oshit' (office). I thoroughly enjoy when she's sleeping on my lap and I'm typing on my laptop. It gives a strong sense of fulfilment.

Hi ! My name is Mahima Lal and popular name on social media accounts is Maahieats. I have been born and raised in Delhi; completed my schooling from S.B DAV Vasant Vihar, Delhi, Graduation from Delhi University and Post graduation is from Ambedkar University Delhi. Delhi being the Union Territory and capital of the country, has lot to offer in terms of cultural diversity. While growing up, i have had friends from various states like Odisha, Uttrakhand, Punjab etc. These friendships brought me exposure to their community & cultural pratices. I remember visiting to their homes after playing for hours and eating fish rice, baal mithai etc. I honestly loved indulging into those interesting flavours. After the completion of my education, i worked with several Governmental and Non- Governmental Organisationsin the field of education research and till date I am working as a researcher. Throughout these years, gradually my love for food have grown immensly as after my working hours or on weekends, i loved exploring the new restaurants. During my field visits as researcher also, i always have had the desire to try the food of that area/ district/state etc. During my official visits, i travelled to more than 16 States/Uts and enjoyed the food of each place. I then realised my passion for food and travelling. I became close friend with one of the famous food blogger from the Industry and got exposure of restaurants way of promotions, coverage of street food etc. Finally, few years back only, i started the page on Instagram. I got decent response from audience and loved the engagement and collaborations.

The journey of food blogging has been phenomenon so far and its always been a great learning. Blogging is not limited to capturing the moment such as the video on food prepartion/ clicking pictures etc but exposure to the new places, the history of different cultures associated; meeting people from diverse background etc. The worst is associated with meeting people who thinks this profession as a free service or on barter basis. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR WORST AND BEST MOMENT IN THIS JOURNEY OF FOOD BLOGGING SO FAR?

L A P I Z Z E R I A

THERE

According to me, generally people love to watch videos which are relatable and i prefer making videos on such topics. Also, my feed is kinda full of the content which is usually bigger such as big gulabjamun, Dosa, Pizza etc in size which attracts my audience. I try to keep my content simple and short and yet attractive. Now a days, reels are really trending with the latest music on; the adaptation/transitions of digital change and good quality camera also sets one apart from others. Everybody seeks clarity and good quality/quantity in the videos and if one follows so, it can make a difference. Try to be trendy, creative and imaginative as much as possible is my simple funda. ARE LOCAL/REGIONAL FOOD BLOGGERS ALL OVER THE INTERNET, BUT SOMEHOW YOU’VE MANAGED TO CUT THROUGH THE NOISE AND MAKE A REAL NAME FOR YOURSELF, WITH OVER 296K FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM. WHAT DO YOU THINK SETS YOU APART?

@Maahieats

WHAT WILL BE YOUR MESSAGE TO OUR READERS WHO WANTS TO BECOME A FOOD BLOGGER LIKE YOU?

The Competition is really tough because now a days every other person is a blogger and everyone tries to present their content at its best. To become a food blogger, one must tries to present the content which attracts the audience either from bringing variety of content such streetfood, making video of large scale productions or editing skills. One must always think this career as full time commitment as it takes lot of time and efforts to do everything from scratch includes exploring a hidden location, for content, efforts for taking perfect angle while making videos and final editings, captivating information/hashtags etc.
