Be a part of the Momentum
God welcomed home a lively and tenacious angel when Sandra Lee Dawson of Morocco, IN passed peacefully and courageously on March 6th, 2018. Sandy was born 11/20/1954 in St. Anne, IL to Miriam (Muggs) G. and Paul L. Corkins. Raised in St.Anne, Il and Morocco, IN, Sandy was a 1972 graduate of North Newton High School and subsequently earned an Interior Design degree from Indiana State University in 1976. She maintained incredible college memories, most notably serving as a Sparkette on the university dance team and receiving “love notes” from her future husband, Richard Dawson. The couple became married in 1976 and lived their 42 years of happy marriage in Morocco, IN. Sandy was an energetic and eccentric person who didn’t know a stranger. A force to be reckoned with, she loved her family and friends without restraint and beyond measure. A consummate friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Sandy put others ahead of herself, living a life of significance. Her creativity and passion for fun and the arts resulted in lasting friendships around the country. These attributes also made her one cool “mimi” who will be remembered by her grandchildren for the rest of time. Sandy is survived by her husband, Rick Dawson; parents, Paul and Muggs Corkins; a sister, Paula Storey (Stephen). Also surviving are her children, John (Gretchen) Dawson and Carla Dawson as well as two grandchildren, Lucy and Jack. She joins her loving grandparents in heaven. Sandy lived life by design, not by default. Both a fighter and a lover, she brought out the best in others and built a beautiful family. Her death leaves a void that can only be filled by her memory and faith in God’s never ending grace. Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
It’s amazing how fast 8 years can go by. What started as an experimental idea to hold the first online Angus sale in Indiana has turned into a fixture in the Autumn in Indiana Angus. Before we get into the details of this year’s offering, we first and foremost want to thank our customers, bidders and supporters for making our historical sale such a success and allowing us to continue to do what we love. We welcome you to visit us during the 8th Annual DawsonMiller Featured Attraction Sale and Open House at Dawson Angus in Morocco, IN September 1st thru 3rd (9AM-8PM CDT) We will be hosting a cookout on September 1st 11:00-1:00 CDT. Online bidding at www.AngusLive.com will open on Monday, September 3rd and conclude on Tuesday September 4th. We take pride in the number of county, state and national champions that our combined programs have produced. What makes us unique is that we’ve done it in the steer, heifer and bull rings. What’s even more special is that we’ve done it consistently with a variety of families on the halter. That’s the part that’s most special to us; the relationships that we build with all of you and the growth that we see in your junior exhibitors year over year. We challenge ourselves to make our sale offering better each year and we believe that we’ve done that time after time with 2018 being no exception. The sellers are reserving the right to one flush on each female in the sale at the sellers expense and the buyers convenience. While videos, pictures, and pedigree information tell much of the story, we urge you to inspect this offering in person at our open house. The Dawson-Miller programs have enjoyed the ride over the last eight years including many successes and great memories due to the outstanding customers and families that we are privileged to work with year in and year out. We would love for you to join us in being a part of the momentum! Bring your friends and have lunch on us Saturday, September 1st! John Dawson (219) 613-4158
