Dear clubmates, readers of our magazine!
Once again, we are celebrating one of the most important public holidays — Constitution Day of Ukraine — in a state of war with a cruel and insidious enemy, an aggressor who seeks to destroy the rights and freedoms guaranteed to us by the Basic Law.
If you think about it, no generation of the Ukrainian people has escaped a historical cataclysm. There has always been some kind of trouble, a problem that prevented Ukrainians from building their lives calmly and without obstacles. As the people say: “Not one thing, then another.” But such a tragedy has happened to us for the first time in the modern history of independent Ukraine. Separately, we can say how predictable this aggression of an insidious neighbour was. What could or should the state have done to ensure public security? To what extent did the actions of state authorities comply and do they now comply with the requirements of the Ukrainian Constitution? Does it work today in the interests of the Ukrainian people and every Ukrainian citizen? There are questions that currently have no answers.
What should we, ordinary citizens, do in such a difficult situation? It depends on how each of us understands our civic duty. The Constitution is not only about rights. And war makes the fulfilment of these duties even more urgent. This is not the place and time for lecturing and mentoring. Many of us have known each other for more than one year, not five – or even more. I am confident in each of you, who are giving everything possible, and sometimes even the impossible, to achieve the goal that all conscious Ukrainians strive for – to defeat the enemy so that he would not even look in our direction. There is no euphoria; this is easier said than done. Each of us has our own feeling and understanding of Victory.
But we understand one thing: without such a Victory, there will be nothing. Neither Ukraine, nor us in Ukraine, nor the Constitution, nor the future on this land, which is sprinkled with the blood of many generations and, unfortunately, our citizens: men and women, boys and girls, military and civilians. And the greatest sorrow is for children. In order to stop this tragedy, we celebrate with weapons in our hands; each of us has his or her own kind of weapon.
And Victory will be ours! Glory to Ukraine!
— Як Ви обирали свою професію і чому стали саме банкіром?
— Я родом із Прикарпаття, чарівного бойківського краю, з гірського міста Долина. У 1997 році, будучи учнем шостого класу, я дивився загальнонаціональну телепередачу «Людина року», в якій Вадим Гетьман отримав нагороду «Банкір року». Його промова якимось чарівним чином надихнула мене на велику мрію — стати українським банкіром. Відтоді й розпочався мій шлях до «банківського Евересту».

— Ви також є першим віцепрезидентом Асоціації українських банків. Чим сьогодні займається
для банків?
— Я вдячний Президенту Асоціації українських

75 установ, з яких приблизно половина — це банки, а інша половина — небанківські фінансові установи. Серед членів АУБ — усі державні банки, низка банків з іноземним капіталом і більшість банків з приватним капіталом: великих, середніх і невеликих.
У 2024 році Асоціація відкрила представництво у Брюсселі, що стало важливим кроком у напрямку поглиблення міжнародної співпраці
з ЄС? — Український банківський сектор вже на 70–80% відповідає європейським стандартам і навіть випереджає деякі країни ЄС за якістю сервісу, тоді як небанківський фінансовий ринок потребує подальших змін. З метою його розвитку Асоціація українських

“TODAY, THE AUB UNITES NOT ONLY BANKS BUT ALSO NON-BANK FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS”
— How did you choose your profession and why did you become a banker?
— I come from Prykarpattia, a magical Boyko region, from the mountain town of Dolyna. In 1997, when I was a sixth-grade student, I watched the national TV programme Man of the Year, in which Vadym Hetman received the “Banker of the Year” award. His speech somehow magically inspired me to pursue a big dream – to become a Ukrainian banker. Since then, my journey to the “banking Everest” has begun.
(Editor’s note: in 2019, Vitalii Romanchukevych repeated the achievement of his idol – he was recognised as the “Financier of the Year”).
— You are also the First Vice President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks. What does AUB do today and what advantages does membership in the association provide for banks?
— I am grateful to Andrii Dubas, President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, for inviting me to join the development of this organisation. It is a great honour for me, especially considering how much the Association has grown over the past seven years.
Today, the AUB unites not only banks but also non-bank financial institutions.
After the adoption of the so-called “split law” in 2020, the National Financial Services Commission was liquidated, and the National Bank of Ukraine took over the functions of regulating non-banking institutions. As an association that has been working with the NBU for decades to strengthen the banking system, we have logically adapted our constituent documents and opened up membership to non-banks.
We are often asked why we have not changed the name of the Association. Our answer is simple: if the NBU did not change its name after expanding its powers, we will keep ours.
Today, the AUB is a unique platform for
● exchange of experience between market participants,
● developing common positions,
● bringing initiatives to the Verkhovna Rada, the government, the NBU and other regulators.
The Association currently comprises 75 institutions, of which approximately half are banks and the other half are non-bank financial institutions. The members of the Association include all state-owned banks, a number of banks with foreign capital, and most banks with private capital: large, medium, and small.
In 2024, the Association opened a representative office in Brussels, which was an important step towards deepening international cooperation on the path to European integration.
— You are an independent director and chair the Supervisory Board of JSC European Industrial Bank. What is its development strategy and what goals do you aim to achieve?
— Established in 2008, JSC European Industrial Bank is a universal boutique family office bank that focuses on an individual approach to each client, providing a high level of personalised service and financial solutions.
The bank’s strategy is to create long-term partnerships focused on a deep understanding of the needs of businesses and individuals, with a particular emphasis on confidentiality, reliability and maximum customer satisfaction.
— Ukraine is actively moving towards European integration. How do you assess the market’s readiness for integration with the EU?
— The Ukrainian banking sector is already 7080% compliant with European standards and even ahead of some EU countries in terms of service quality, while the non-banking financial market requires further changes. In order to develop it, the Association of Ukrainian Banks actively cooperates with European partners, in particular within the Step in2EU project implemented together with GIZ.
— What is the strength and uniqueness of the Ukrainian banking sector compared to the EU?
— Ukraine’s banking sector has undergone a major transformation. The combination of reforms and digitalisation has prepared the banking system for the extreme conditions of war.
Since February 2022 – more than three and a half years now – the Ukrainian banking system has demonstrated stability, cohesion and technological readiness for challenges.
We see:
● an effective model of power banking,
● prompt response of the NBU to threats,
● coordinated work of bankers across the country.
This is our unique experience, which we will be able to share with the international community after we win. We hope that other countries will never have to go through something like this, but it is better to be prepared for challenges than to be caught unawares.

VASYL BONDAR: “WE CAN HELP!”
REPRODUCTOLOGIST ON HOW TO RETURN BIRTHRATE TO UKRAINE
Ukraine is going through a difficult demographic period, and the issue of fertility is becoming particularly relevant. How can we overcome the challenges associated with the rapid decrease in the number of newborns and the rise in fertility problems among couples? We talked about this and many other things with Vasyl Bondar, a leading reproductive physician, who shared his experience, modern medical capabilities and sincere wishes for future parents.

— Mr. Vasyl, let’s start with real statistics. What demographic indicators do we have in Ukraine today?
— Today, Ukraine faces serious demographic challenges. The fertility rate is 0.7 children per woman. To stabilise the situation, a coefficient of at least 2.14 is needed. In addition, every 3rd4th couple who get married has problems with reproductive health.
— You are a reproductive medicine doctor with extensive experience. Tell us, what opportunities do you provide for Ukrainian women to have the opportunity to give birth?
— I have in-depth knowledge and practical experience in performing insemination procedures, both with partner and donor sperm. During my many years of practice, I have successfully performed numerous metrosalpingographies and hysteroscopies. I am convinced that the key to success is a harmonious combination of the latest techniques, high qualification and a sincere, attentive attitude to each patient.
— What is currently affecting women’s reproductive health? Share your treatment experience.
— First of all, it’s the emotional state. It is often the fear of failure that is the main obstacle, even when there is nothing wrong with the physiology. There are also unresolved issues in relationships:
“The babies born at our centre are the happiest, because they come into this world WISHED.
They smile, cry, rejoice… Here they are – God’s children, children of science, our children!”
one wants financial stability, the other wants a child. Pressure from family or friends is also added to the mix: “It’s time to give birth”. Let me give you an example from practice: Olena and Serhii from Bucha. Ten years of infertility, dozens of examinations and courses of treatment. Here’s what the couple
says: “The meeting with Mr. Vasyl was a turning point. This atmosphere of trust and inner peace is what helped. Not just his professionalism. As a result, we had the desired triplets for the New Year – three handsome boys.’
— The psychological state of a modern woman is often difficult. How does this affect the hormonal system and reproductive function?
— I recommend maintaining a balance between work and rest. Find small sources of joy every day. Take care of your health, proper nutrition, and physical activity.
— Mr Vasyl, please say a few words of advice for our readers who are expectant mothers.

десятки обстежень і курсів лікування. Ось що каже сама пара: «Переломним моментом стала зустріч із Василем Івановичем. Ця атмосфера довіри та внутрішнього спокою — саме вона допомогла. YEVHENIIA KONDRATIEVA: “BODILY FEELINGS
CAN NOT ONLY REFLECT, BUT ALSO INFLUENCE THE PSYCHOLOGICAL STATE”
Yevheniia KONDRATIEVA is the president of the Federation of Body-Oriented Therapy, author of books, academician, and psychotherapist in the system of antiage psychosomatics. She is convinced that a person can be multifaceted – combining science, psychology, body practices and philosophy. In a conversation with our readers she talks about the power of sensations, integrity and the modern role of the body in human life.
— Mrs. Yevheniia, we are glad to welcome you to the pages of our magazine. You are the president of the Federation of Body-Oriented Therapy. What is the mission of this organization, and what changes do you seek to bring to the professional environment?
— The mission of the Federation is multifaceted, and its main goal is to improve the quality of human life by restoring the integrity of the body and psyche, harmonising the emotional state and developing the skills of conscious living of emotions through bodily sensations.
It is well known: bodily impulses not only reflect our psychological state, but also directly affect it. The time has come to actively introduce the psychosomatic approach into psychology – as an effective tool for awareness and liberation from traumatic experiences recorded in the body. This is one of the fastest ways of emotional regulation, which reduces the level of stress, anxiety and affects deep psychological blocks.
— In a world of constant stress, what role do you see body therapy playing for the future of the human being? Have client requests changed in recent years?
— I have been teaching psychosomatics for over 40 years, and each decade shapes new priorities. In the 1980s and 1990s, it was mainly about health correction, in the 2000s, about body shapes and harmonisation of the personality. In the 2010s and 2020s, anti-aging psychosomatics came to the fore.
Today, this is accompanied by a desire to develop a deeper understanding of their feelings, emotions, and thoughts. People want to quickly and effectively free themselves from mental and physical burdens — even those that have been masked for years.
— The concept of anti-aging is very popular today. How do you interpret it from the perspective of psychosomatics and internal development?
— Anti-age programs cannot be limited to improving skin turgor through cosmetology. Negative thoughts, emotions, and chronic stress fix tension in certain muscle groups of the face and body. This leads to changes in the facial contour, the formation of facial wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity throughout the body, and even posture deformation — despite cosmetic interventions. Anti-age is a complex work on the level of the psyche, body, and lifestyle.
— You combine science, psychology, body practices, and philosophy. How do you manage to harmonise the logic of science and the intuition of the soul?
— Today, much of what was previously called “spiritual impulses” can be explained scientifically. And when a person hears logical confirmation of his or her feelings, he or she opens up, becomes more spiritual, conscious, vulnerable to the philosophy of “do no harm.”
The symbiosis of feeling and awareness is a chance to develop an intuition of luck: to be in the right place at the right time. It is there that moments of happiness are born.
— You are also a writer. What do you most want to write about today — as an author, as a woman, as a therapist?
— Currently, I am working in two directions. The first is a book of aphorisms that can raise the spirit and harmonise the psychoemotional state of a person on a subconscious level. This is vital for our people.
The second is a deeper study of human feelings. A person is a combination of a multitude of emotional states: from 22 to 33, 12 of which are spiritual. We react to events depending on what feeling overwhelms us at that moment – sometimes this surprises us. But awareness of the mechanisms of this interaction allows us to better control ourselves – and, accordingly, live more wisely.

«WHEN THE SOUL COMES TO LIFE AGAIN»
Zhanna Burlachenko is a hypno coach, MAC practitioner, and a person with a powerful inner mission: to help others find themselves. Her life path is an example of how turning points can be the beginning of a real life. In an interview, she shares personal experience, talks about the combination of hypnosis, coaching, and intuitive work, and also inspires not to be afraid of deep changes. This is a conversation about the power of choice, honesty with yourself, and an incredible transformation that begins from within.
— Zhanna, tell us how your path to this profession began.
— There was one very clear turning point that seemed to illuminate: it was time to choose myself and do what I had long felt necessary. I always knew that my mission was to help people. I was always close to this profession in my soul, although for a long time I was distracted: I was engaged in business, tried to live “like everyone else”.
But in 2019, something happened that completely changed my trajectory – the diagnosis of “oncology”. It was then that I began to study coaching more deeply, completed my studies, graduated from university. This was a return to myself. Not a new beginning, but rather a real one. This year I completed my studies at the Chicago University of Hypnosis and Psychology in the specialty “Hypnosis”, received a diploma and am now officially a certified hypnotist.
— How do you feel about being a hypno coach?
in one session. All for the sake of one goal: to help a person do the maximum of inner work in the minimum number of meetings. Each client is unique, therefore the approach to work is always individual.
I remember a woman who literally changed everything after the first session. Now she is a successful entrepreneur and has been doing what she loves for several months.
— Was there a session that was particularly memorable?

— To be honest, every one. Every story, every inner discovery — I experience them together with the person. And when after the meeting a person leaves with an understanding of what to do next, and with an inner point of support — that’s what I do my job for.

— This is extremely valuable to me. By combining coaching and hypnosis, I can work deeper, more finely, more precisely.
— What especially inspires you about working with people?
— I love to see how a person reveals oneself. How her or his eyes fill with light, and meaning, support, and direction appear inside. Sometimes a person understands everything, but cannot move. And then together we “untangle” this tangle.
I have seen how one session can turn a whole life around. It is very powerful.
— Do you use different methods?
— Yes. I work intuitively, through positive energy: hypnosis, metaphorical cards and coaching questions can be combined
— What would you say to those who are looking for themselves but are afraid to take the first step?
— I would say this not only to women, but to everyone: we are all children deep down. And we are all afraid of something, ashamed of something, hiding something. Don’t be afraid to go inside. Life begins again precisely when fear leaves and doubts disperse.
— What do this interview and this moment in your life mean to you?
— For me, this is a moment of honesty with myself. I have been walking for a long time, studying, living, accumulating experience. And now I can say: I am ready to be the person who is able to support others – in depth.

Aїжі. За вищою я — магістр готельно-ресторанної справи. За тим же напрямком, але більш широко — адміністрування,
яким буде син? — Немовля на зображенні не було схоже на сина. Але коли через дев’ять років у нас народилася друга дитина, донька Меланія, то ми згадали про той малюнок, дістали його — і залишилися вражені: на картині була копія нашої доньки.
— Анно, як наважилися показати свій талант світові?
— Мною почали пишатися ті люди, які
пов’язані з мистецтвом. Це наші друзі, знайомі, які також писали, створювали картинні галереї. Вони здивовано на мене дивилися і перепитували, чи точно я не маю художньої освіти.
Потім почалася повномасштабна війна. Ми були змушені поїхати на деякий час з країни до Швейцарії. Там для українців
влаштували вечір знайомства та підтримки. Меценату, який допоміг багатьом людям врятуватися, я подарувала свою картину, де зображений темний нічний Київ, понівечений війною, але посередині — штрихи світла, в яких видніються дерева, гори — інакший світ, спокою і миру. Він був настільки в захваті від тої ідеї, що є дві реальності — тривоги і спокою, що навіть пустив сльозу .
Після повернення зі Швейцарії ми організували в медіацентрі ДП «Генеральна дирекція з обслуговування іноземних представництв» (далі – ГДІП), де ми працюємо, виставку всіх 30-ти картин, які були у мене на той момент. І коли я побачила, що мої картини хочуть купити, лише тоді зрозуміла, що, мабуть, дійсно маю якийсь хист.
Він запропонував близько 20 тисяч гривень за ту роботу. — Про що пишете зараз, Анно? Скільки часу витрачаєте на творчість? — Направлення дуже різні, це залежить від стану душі. Бо сьогодні, наприклад, я можу намалювати океан, а завтра — ліс. У мене є колекція «Джаз» — це п’ять картин в одному стилі, з червоними відтінками, де зображені рояль, саксофон, ретро-мікрофон. Особливо мені подобаються дві гітари, бо вони немов справжні — закриваєш очі, торкаєшся полотна — і відчуваєш ці струни. Я використовую різні техніки, мої роботи об’ємні, структурні.

nna FIALKOVSKA, together with her husband Viktor, has dedicated over 20 years to cooking. She is an expert in the hotel and restaurant business, a well-known critic. He is one of five holders of the highest title of “Master Chef” in Ukraine.
For the sake of his career, she left hers and started everything from scratch. For the sake of her health, he… bought her brushes, paints and canvases. Who would have thought, but an ordinary hobby discovered in Anna a real talent as an artist! A fantastic story, where there is love, support and creativity — in a joint interview of a famous couple.
— Victor, what did you think when you first saw your wife? How did you meet her?
— We worked together in a nightclub. I was a cook, and Anna was a barwoman. At that time, she had just graduated from a college, and I –from technical school. So you could say that our relationship started with a work romance. That was 23 years ago. I immediately realised that she was the one.
— Anna, was working at the bar a parttime job for you? What is your education?
— After graduation, I went straight to work because I needed money as a young girl. My first degree was as a food preparation technician-technologist. I also have a master’s degree in hotel and restaurant management. This is in the same field, but in a broader sense – administration, management of hotels or restaurants.
— How did you become an artist? When did you start painting?
— When COVID-19 was quarantined in 2020, I had serious panic attacks – I couldn’t even
breathe. I was very worried about my children and my mother, who lived in another city. Then I got to hospital and was advised to switch my attention somewhere else. So I decided to paint. At first, I didn’t even have brushes, so I created an image of an oriental cherry using ordinary cotton swabs. My husband was very supportive – he bought paints and other necessities and brought me to the hospital.
— So this was your first painting?
– No, it wasn’t. I created my first drawing 20 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first son, our son Dmytro. Inspired by the process of gestation, I used an ordinary grey pencil to draw a sleeping baby. The drawing itself was very similar to a black and white photograph, even with shades.
— Victor, did your wife already «see» what her son would be like?
— The baby in the picture did not look like our son. But when our second child, daughter Melaniia, was born nine years later, we remembered that picture, got it out, and were amazed: the picture was a copy of our daughter.
— Anna, how dare you show your talent to the world?
— People connected with art began to admire me. These are our friends and acquaintances who also painted and created art galleries. They looked at me in surprise and asked me if I was sure I didn’t have an artistic education.
Then a full-scale war broke out. We were forced to leave the country for a while and go to Switzerland. There, they organised an evening of acquaintance and support for Ukrainians. I presented my painting to a patron who helped many people to escape, which depicts a dark night in Kyiv, ravaged by war, but in the middle there are touches of light, in which you can see trees and mountains - a different world, of calm and peace. He was so delighted with the idea that there are two realities - anxiety and peace - that he even shed a tear.
After returning from Switzerland, we organized an exhibition of all 30 paintings I had at that time at the media centre of the State Enterprise «General Directorate for Servicing Foreign Missions» (hereinafter referred to as GDIP), where we work. And when I saw that my paintings were wanted to be bought, only then did I realise that I probably really had some talent.
— Viktor, in whose collections can one find your wife’s paintings?
— We regularly hold various charity marathons. Last year, we organised a football match and an auction on the territory of the GDFM, raising funds for the National Guard. One painting was bought by foreigners from Italy. Another one, depicting golden ears of grain in 3D, was bought by a man from Odesa who said: “Such beauty should remain in Ukraine.” He offered about 20 thousand hryvnias for the work.
— What are you painting about now, Anna? How much time do you spend on your work?
— The directions are very different; it depends on the state of mind. Today, for example, I can paint the ocean, and tomorrow – the forest. I have a collection called “Jazz” – five paintings in the same style, with red shades, depicting a grand piano, a saxophone, a retro microphone. I especially like the two guitars, because they
seem to be real – you close your eyes, touch the canvas, and you can feel these strings. I use different techniques; my works are voluminous and structural.
— Viktor, when Anna is painting, do you do all the housework?
— We often communicate with different artists. Some of them admit that they paint a picture for a month or two. When Anna starts painting, she can’t get up until she’s finished. The inspiration comes and that’s it. She can sit and paint all day long, and the next day she varnishes it; because if the process drags on, she will look for flaws in herself. She is very picky.
— Anna, did your artistic creativity also encourage you to take up photography?
–I started to see things that other people don’t notice, to create compositions, to change them. I have been taking pictures for four years now. It all started with landscapes - I wanted to capture them as a souvenir. At first, with a phone, and later we bought a professional camera. And so it grew into a serious business. I already have regular people whom I photograph, in particular, ambassadors of different countries and government officials. In addition, I create magazines and brochures that relate directly to my professional activities.
— Viktor, your wife dedicated many of her works to you. Which is your favourite?
— The most symbolic painting Anna gave me for my birthday/ It was THE BIG BOSS VIKTOR. The canvas is quite large, textured, with a touch of humour, and I hung it in my office.
I also particularly like glow-in-the-dark paintings made with fluorescent paint.
— In your experience, what is the recipe for a happy marriage, Viktor?
— Probably in supporting each other. When I went abroad for a long business trip at the Ukrainian embassy, Ania left her job and came with me. She was in great demand at the time, but decided to start from scratch.
We are both leaders and full-fledged creative personalities, each in our own direction. It is important not to engage in a tug-of-war, but to learn to talk. Not to guess, not to form expectations. Because when there is a dialogue, all issues and problems are resolved.
— What creative prospects do you see for yourself, Anna?
— Recently, I received a certificate of honour from the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the highest award and the first in the history of the GDIP from this organisation. As for my art, I don’t have any ambitions. I paint for myself, for people, to enjoy the process and to broadcast goodness.
Nowadays, it is impossible to plan the future with certainty. W As long as we live, as long as we see. Recently, when the shelling has intensified, I want to paint something related to nature, because people’s eyes are very tired and empty now. It is frightening. Many people are physically and especially mentally crippled by the war.
I want my story to inspire others to work through their negative experiences through art. Let’s help, forgive, and be open to each other.

— Mr. Yurii, what are the advantages of stretch and fabric ceilings for home and business compared to other types of covering?
— First of all, the speed of installation. This is usually several times faster than, for example, the installation of a plasterboard ceiling or the Armstrong system. Secondly, it is a relatively clean process. Of course, every installation work is accompanied by a certain amount of dirt, but in most cases, after installing a stretch ceiling, it is enough to walk around the perimeter with a broom or vacuum cleaner. And the most interesting, in my opinion, advantage is the price. The cost of a high-quality stretch
ceiling is 2.5-3 times lower than the cost of a plasterboard one.
— What are the differences and advantages between fabric ceilings and plasterboard ceilings and what makes them such an attractive alternative?
— In addition to the advantages mentioned above, a stretch ceiling will not crack throughout the entire period of operation, will retain an attractive, aesthetic appearance for many years, and will look perfectly flat.
But perhaps the most important technical advantage of a stretch ceiling is its ability to retain a large amount of water, so that in the event of a flood, the stretch ceiling protects the owner’s property from damage and avoids repairs.
— What are the main differences between a fabric ceiling and a stretch ceiling?
— The main advantage of fabric is its resistance to mechanical damage. The fabric ceiling is also breathable, allowing the room to ‘breathe’. The fabric is made from environmentally friendly materials, is hypoallergenic and has antibacterial protection.
And the look: the fabric ceiling looks great, has a perfectly flat surface and a deep matte structure. It is almost impossible to achieve such a visual effect on a plasterboard ceiling.
— What styles and designs can be realised using fabric and stretch ceilings to create a unique interior for a home or business space?
— Using modern technologies and stretch or fabric ceilings, any project can be realized. You can integrate a built-in magnetic track system into the ceiling, which will allow you to install light lines – lamps that are mounted at the ceiling level, concealed mounting cornices for curtains and tulle, various niches for mounting, for example, Roman curtains or sliding furniture structures, as well as solve many other technical issues that the customer or designer will ask you to implement. Even such technically complex issues as attic broken ceilings and slopes of dormer windows are also easily solved with the help of stretch or fabric ceilings.

— Mr. Artem, how did you get the position of the Chairman of the South Ukrainian International Bar Association?
— The initiative to create the South Ukrainian International Bar Association arose in response to a request from colleagues and partners to join forces for the professional development of lawyers, exchange of experience and training of the younger generation of lawyers. I was invited to lead this process, given my professional experience, ability to unite people and strategic vision of the development of the legal community.
— What do you consider to be your most significant achievements in this position?
— The most important achievement, I consider, is the introduction of a continuous format of legal aid for Ukrainian citizens, as well as foreigners, stateless persons and persons with dual citizenship – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is extremely important in a difficult time of war for the state, when legal protection is not only a necessity but also an element of national security. We managed to quickly unite specialists, create effective communication channels and establish the association’s work on the principles of efficiency, professionalism and accessibility.
— What challenges did you face in your career as a lawyer and how did you overcome them?
— One of the main challenges was to acquire real lawyer experience capable of ensuring effective work even in the most complex cases. After all, it is practice that builds true professional resilience, the ability to act under pressure and quickly make sound
legal decisions. The next stage was the effective application of this experience in protecting the rights of individuals in a variety of circumstances: from domestic conflicts to complex international disputes. Today, I consider it my duty to pass on the knowledge I have gained to young lawyers through training initiatives, mentoring, open discussions and practical support. This helps to build a strong, professional legal community.
— What do you see as the future development of Ukraine’s legal system?
— Everything depends on our joint work. Ukraine has the potential to become an example of a state governed by the rule of law. It is important to preserve the independence
of the bar, develop legal education and build trust in the judiciary. That is why the role of professional communities in strengthening the legal culture is crucial.
— What advice can you give to young lawyers at the beginning of their careers?
— Do not be in a hurry to become famous –strive to be reliable. Look for mentors, follow professional standards and always remember that you are the voice of those who cannot defend themselves. Authority is not gained through words, but through deeds.
— What values and principles are fundamental for you in your legal practice?
— Honesty, dignity, competence and humanity. For me, advocacy is not just a profession, but a way of life. I am convinced that a lawyer should be a moral guide, not just a technical performer. These principles accompany me in everything – from daily consultations to highprofile litigation.

— “Ceiling” is an absolutely natural process. Any business that grows and develops sooner or later “hits the ceiling”. — Entrepreneurship is not without mistakes. Entrepreneurship is about testing hypotheses. Of course, some of them will be correct, but, as a rule, most hypotheses are false. It’s important to take a mistake not as a personal defeat, but as a growth point, analysing which you can become stronger. Because we learn what doesn’t work, why it doesn’t work, and how we can do it better.
But the presence of mistakes does not mean that we have reached the «ceiling».
— What is your approach? Why do clients choose you on their way to their results?
— I have over 10 years of intensive experience as a chess coach (I am a top chess coach in Ukraine, I created my own methodology that gave great results, I am currently working with
the VIP segment). At the same time, I have constantly studied coaching, business psychology, various sales techniques, etc.
My experience as a chess coach has taught me not only to build effective strategies and develop them with clients, but also, in a sense, to “see people’s thoughts.” And this is exactly what I have brought to my new stage — working with entrepreneurs.
A crisis in business is very often not about the lack of tools, but about internal chaos. I read this chaos like a position on a chessboard, show which strategy to choose for a specific situation — and bring the position out of chaos into clarity. And clarity can already be scaled.
— What helped you personally achieve success?
— It is definitely my desire to constantly learn and also the ability to perceive a mistake as a point of growth. First, analyse it and then turn it into an advantage. And of course, it’s my chess background. I started out as a chess coach for preschool children. I found out how the human brain works. This knowledge gave me a great foundation for building all my other methodologies. And now I can help my clients on a deeper level, finding the essence of the problem first.
— What are your goals now?
— My goal is to become the person whose name comes to mind first when people talk about someone who helps entrepreneurs and experts get out of chaos into clarity, give structure and put things in order in their heads.

But I gained strength and the first thing I did was pay for a private school to study Italian language, culture and history. I studied every day from 9 am to 1 pm. This was necessary because it was impossible to live and work in Italy with only English.
At the same time, I did in-depth marketing research on the restaurant and service industry. Based on the results of my research, I created two business projects. The first is a restaurant in Milan, which is currently in production. The second is a concierge service that is already successfully operating.
— How did you come up with the idea to set up a business in Italy?
Life itself led me to this idea. I have over 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry: restaurant business (opening establishments from scratch, creating a concept, choosing a style, cuisine, recruiting and training a team, management, control, etc.), catering (events and cooperation with world luxury brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Brioni), as well as multiple organisation of high-level events for the first persons of different states – from Ukraine, Europe and the USA.
Given this, I have a wide circle of friends. Since I found myself in Milan, friends and acquaintances, friends of friends, began to contact me with various requests: to advise on where it is better to eat; to find out where it is worth going on vacation; to choose the best gastronomic tour, wine tour; where and how to organise an event, who is better to work with. As a responsible and friendly person, I have always been happy to help with this. So – step by step – I came to the conclusion that it was necessary to create my own company, which I founded together with my partner – Iryna Riazantseva.

— How do you assess the impact of your work on the development of volunteering in Kharkiv this year?
— This year has been a real challenge, but at the same time it has proved the strength of Kharkiv’s volunteer movement. Our centre does not just coordinate help –we form a community of people who are able to support each other. We have seen how trust, responsibility and cohesion grow in difficult times. The development of volunteerism is no longer just an initiative of individuals, but a part of the city’s cultural code.
— How is your foundation preparing for its 25th anniversary? How will this event be special?
— 25 years is not just a date. It is a story of trust, endurance and development. We are planning informal meetings with our partners, a photo exhibition, and most importantly, an open dialogue with the community about challenges and visions for the future. We would like to thank everyone who stood by us in difficult moments, and share the results of our work.
HAPPY TO BE IN A TEAM OF LIKE-MINDED PEO-
PLE AND VOLUNTEERS, IN THE WOMEN’S MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE
In 2024-2025, as part of the international project “Resilient and Capable Volunteers of Kharkiv”, we trained volunteers in the Violence Prevention Programme (Conflictrelated Sexual Violence) with the support of the International Fund ‘UN Women in Ukraine’. As a result, we trained 23 case managers – specialists who make the first contact, conduct motivational interviews at our Centre and accompany victims at all stages of psychosocial rehabilitation for 3-5 months. This has significantly improved the quality of assistance to our clients.
— What specific challenges did you have to overcome when training 30 volunteers to become case managers?
— The biggest challenge was to transfer not only knowledge but also the internal ethics of support. After all, we are talking about working with the topics of violence, loss, and vulnerability. We faced emotional burnout, despondency, and lack of experience. But thanks to supervision, practical training and a strong team spirit, we managed to form a team capable of providing long-term, high-quality support to women and families in crisis.
— How do you see innovations in the development of Safe Women’s Space and its impact on the community?
— Innovation is not just about technology. It is about the approach. We are moving beyond the “office” model of care: mobile teams, art therapy, and a space without barriers.
Safe Women’s Space has become not just a physical place, but an environment of trust. It changes the culture of response to violence in the community.
— How does your scientific work help in a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of violence and the mental health of victims?
— I combine science and practice to research deeper the mechanisms of trauma, the impact of war, loss, and systemic violence. My research allows me to develop effective support models and create educational programmes that meet the real needs of women and families in crisis situations.
— What plans do you have for your 60th birthday in December this year?
— This is not only my anniversary, but also the anniversary of our entire team. We plan to expand the network of case managers, launch new initiatives for women veterans and military families, and pay more attention to mentoring. It is important for me to pass on my experience to those who will continue this work.

знання, а й внутрішню етику підтримки. Адже йдеться про роботу з темами насильства, втрати, вразливості. Ми стикалися з емоційним вигоранням, зневірою, браком досвіду. Але завдяки супервізіям, практичним заняттям і сильному командному духу нам вдалося сформувати команду, здатну на тривалу, якісну підтримку жінок та родин у кризі. — Як ваш фонд готується до 25-річчя?
BIOCHEMISTRY OF LOVE FOR A WOMAN
Yuliia Divas is from the Kucher family. She is using holistic and individual approach to the health of body, soul and spirit. She helps with issues related to purpose, health, finances, relationships, emotions, negative influences, etc. Since 2014, she has been helping people become healthier and happier through genetic reprogramming, maps, NLP practices, regressions, the Matrix of Destiny, and cosmic algorithms.
The course “Biochemistry of Love for Women” was written during a period of great emotional pain after a breakup. I thank God for this help. He helped me to find answers to important questions: why I feel bad alone, why I am constantly rescuing someone, why love fades over time, why there are so many divorces nowadays, and how to be a fulfilled woman.
The course “Biochemistry for Men” goes deeper into this topic –but that’s another story.
The knowledge and practices from both courses helped me to recover and stop “deserving love” and being convenient.
Amour is, perhaps, only for relationships with the opposite sex, but Love is for oneself, for the world, for people. A woman filled with love is like Wi-Fi – she can heal others with her field, attract events, men, help – easily and naturally.
At every moment, hormones in our body affect the biochemical composition of the blood, and therefore our mood and wellbeing. There are hormones that increase the level of love, and there are those that decrease it due to our unconscious actions.
• Prolactin is the hormone of love. It is activated when you do something slowly, hug, walk, move, and at the same time listen to your body sensations.
• Oxytocin is the hormone of attachment. It increases when you touch someone (or something) that is pleasant. If you stay in your body at that moment – feel “what I’m experiencing now” – and enjoy it, prolactin will join it.
• Endorphin is the hormone of surprise. It is released when the body reacts to something unusual, unexpected, and aesthetically pleasing.
• Serotonin is the hormone of good emotions. It appears when
you notice what positive emotions words, events, and music evoke.
But these hormones ‘run away’ when you live in your head, on autopilot, according to the principle of ‘must’. At this point, dopamine and cortisol are activated. These are our assistants - like a ‘gas pedal’ to reach the goal faster. But, as they say, ‘too much is not healthy’.
When we are constantly in the ‘red zone’, the body is exhausted. That’s when quarrels, cooling off and breakdowns in relationships occur.
Think about it: how many actions do you take to restore love, and how many unconsciously destroy it?

Olena ZHEHUS is the founder of the «Academy of Marketing Thinking», Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Marketing, Reputation Management and Customer Experience of the State Biotechnological University (Kharkiv), member of the NGO «Ukrainian Marketing Association».
— How can marketing education influence a change in the mindset of entrepreneurs and business owners?
— Without changes in thinking, further development is impossible. Therefore, in my Academy of Marketing Thinking, I use my own methodology in intensives, courses, mentoring and consulting and teach how to implement opportunity marketing.
Participants in my programmes change their focus from survival to growth, from a product approach to value-added creation, from customer focus to human centricity, from template solutions to creative ones. They begin to see new perspectives, formulate strategies, adapt their business, scale and grow. They become resilient (invulnerable) in the midst of change.
How does consulting contribute to the development of new approaches to thinking?
— Consulting is carried out by a specialist who is not involved in the corporate “muddled” routine, so he or she sees the situation from a broader perspective, differently, independently.
My methodology, which is based on scientific achievements and practical experience, awakens strategic and innovative thinking and helps to identify new opportunities.
As a result, the company introduces new knowledge and ideas, best practices, and non-standard approaches. The main thing is that the team moves away from templates and perceives the situation, its product and its customers in a new way.
— How to combine marketing education and consulting to create effective strategies based on mindset transformation?
— In practice, I combine marketing education and consulting in my mentoring programme, “Marketing with and for People”. It is a symbiosis of training, strategic sessions and consulting on marketing strategy development.
The mentoring process transforms the mindset of the business owner and staff, reboots the marketing strategy, and forms a team capable of implementing it.
— What psychological factors are important for successful mindset transformation through education and consulting?
— It requires leadership (initiative) from the business owner and readiness for change (open-mindedness) from the entire team. In addition to courage and determination, the ability to accept new ideas, constructive criticism and alternative points of view is important.
You also need to allow yourself to have doubts, lack of knowledge, and the right to make mistakes – and at the same time have confidence in the expert. Optimism, proactivity, clear values, and an understanding of goals are the best ways to achieve the best results.
— What methods help to assess the effectiveness of education and consulting programmes in changing mindset?
— Definitely, a “before/after” screening that allows you to identify the changes implemented and their results.
Criteria: the number and quality of new business decisions; what was done in a new way; changes in beliefs and communication syntax in the team (for example, instead of “I don’t know”, “I can research, look for, try”); originality of decisions, non-standard approaches; speed of response to events and decision-making; ability to see opportunities where others only see threats.
TBUILDING HOMES, NOT BUSINESSES: HOW RUSLAN KOVALENKO IS CREATING A NEW GENERATION OF HOUSING
en years ago, Ruslan KOVALENKO came to Poland without capital – only with a diploma as a physical training teacher and a character hardened by football, wrestling and years of work as a trainer and form master in the same gymnasium that he graduated from in Zaporizhia. Today, his name is associated with the largest network of eco-hostels for migrants in Warsaw, a comfortable hotel and a new business that is changing the conception of the housing of the future.
Ruslan KOVALENKO is a new wave entrepreneur, a man of system, values and breakthrough.
He began his journey by searching for himself, with zero capitalisation. Having lived in garages and dormitories, Ruslan decided to change the reality for migrants. In 2016, he and his wife opened the first Gostiny Dom in Warsaw at Promienista, 22. This is how a network of hostels was born, which annually receives more than 5,000 guests.
Today, there are 9 houses in Warsaw, 489 places, the average annual occupancy rate is 90%, the payback period for a new facility is 6 months, and 60% of clients come by recommendation. The basis is his own ERP and CRM systems that automate business management. And the main rules: there is a ban on alcohol, there is a community, clear rules of coexistence and support for everyone.
The second large-scale project is Victory Home, a hotel complex with 22 rooms, a restaurant and a conference room, opened in 2023. The business is implemented together with his wife Anna and sister Victoriia. Everything here speaks of respect for the guest – from the smell of fresh coffee to the impeccable cleanliness of the bed.
But the real innovation in the global market was the launch of GLEMP TRADE GROUP. This is an international company of a new format, engaged in the export of Capsule Home – new generation capsule modular houses from China to Europe and other regions of the world.
These are autonomous, quickly assembled, environmentally friendly solutions that are already popular as glamping, Airbnb homes, remote offices, retreat spaces and hotels. GLEMP TRADE GROUP takes care of the entire cycle: direct supply from production, logistics, assembly, customization and turnkey support.
Ruslan explains: “The future is personal space, autonomy and harmony with nature. And we are creating it today.”
He sees Capsule Home as a solution for the rapid construction of housing and business locations in Europe. This is an opportunity for investors, developers, tourism entrepreneurs and people who want to create new formats of life. That is why GLEMP TRADE GROUP is already looking for partners for scaling.

— The years since the outbreak of full-scale war have been extremely challenging for business in Ukraine. Mrs. Olena, what has been your biggest challenge and biggest victory?
— We are most proud of the fact that we have retained our team. From the very beginning, we decided to do everything possible to keep people in the company, not to leave and not to lose their jobs. And we succeeded –almost the entire team is still with us today. This is evidence that even in the most difficult times in Ukraine; it is possible not only to hold on but also to grow. I am convinced that this is the result of our long-term approach. We have been working according to European standards since day one, when few people thought about it. And yes, we really have something to be proud of. This spring, “Soc Trade” was recognised as the best partner of the year by PerkinElmer, a global leader represented in 190 countries! — Your company operates in a rather specific industry. How would you explain to the average Ukrainian why it is important?
— “Soc Trade” has been a reliable partner of Ukrainian laboratories for over 25 years. We are the official representative of 40 leading brands from Europe, the USA and Japan and offer modern quality control solutions. Our clients include more than 700 organisations across Ukraine.
Although laboratory equipment seems to be a narrow field, in fact, it concerns everyone: controlling the quality of water, food, air, fuel, medicines – all this is done thanks to such technologies. And we are taking part in this.
Quality requirements are constantly growing – and this is good. That’s why laboratories, both public and private, are constantly expanding the range of research. If earlier the agricultural sector was our main focus, today it is only part of the overall landscape. The war has also brought new challenges, such as analysing soil for explosive residues or equipping hospitals with chromatographs to detect alcohol and drugs in the blood. We are constantly adapting to the changes and offering appropriate solutions.
— Since 2014, and especially since 2022, many markets in Ukraine have changed. What is happening in the laboratory equipment sector?
— In the past, Ukraine actively used Russian equipment, which was significantly inferior to European or American equipment in terms of quality, accuracy and reliability. Today, this is a thing of the past:
maintenance and spare parts for it have disappeared.
Instead, we see a steady transition to modern devices of leading Western brands – exactly those supplied by “Soc Trade”.
And another important point is that our suppliers have clearly declared that they will stop cooperating with Russia. Because it’s not just about markets anymore – it’s about principles.
— How do you manage to maintain development in times of war?
— We have never stopped. Even in the most difficult moments, we continued to learn and improve. In 2024, we held a large training session on negotiations and communications, and weekly internal training sessions are already a tradition. We have created our own academy where specialists record their own courses to ensure that knowledge remains within the team and is multiplied. Training has become part of our corporate culture.
— What is the main advantage of “Soc Trade” in the service sector?
— Today, buying a device is not a problem. The real value is in quality support, service, and training. We prepare our customers even before they receive the equipment: video courses, tests, and interactive sessions. This makes training more effective. We remove the fear of complex equipment and build confidence. When our specialist comes to teach, the laboratory staff is already in the know. — And what if the client wants to test the equipment before buying it?
— We have our own Demonstration and Consulting Centre – in fact, a full-fledged laboratory. Here you can see, evaluate, and test equipment in
real conditions. In addition, thanks to friendly and partnership relations with clients, we often organise analysis of samples of potential customers in their laboratories. This gives confidence in the choice.
— How has the war affected communication with clients?
— Our relationship with our clients has changed a lot since the war started. We can’t just call and get straight to business – everything has become much deeper and more human. Every conversation begins not with a commercial offer, but with a simple question: “How are you? How is your situation? Is it safe?”. And only then do we get down to business. Calls have become longer but warmer. It’s no longer just about business – it’s about mutual support. Although we operate in the B2B segment, we always emphasise that people are at the centre of everything. And it is people who interact with each other. The war has emphasised this.
— How did you manage to maintain the team’s efficiency during blackouts?
— When the massive power cuts started, we realised that if we wanted to work, we had to take care of energy independence not only in the office. We immediately launched a support programme to help employees purchase equipment for autonomous work from home. We have been working flexibly since the pandemic.
But the most important thing is the sense of community. When everyone is together in a cold office, wearing jackets and sitting on the same sofa, it unites us. It is no longer just a job. It’s a team. It is then that we remember what it is that holds us together. At such moments, we not only do not lose strength, we, on the contrary, gain energy.
— We are very clear about our responsibility. “Soc Trade” has the status of a strategically important enterprise. We have an obligation to our customers: no matter what happens, we will not disappear; we will be in touch and come to the place where help is needed. Our service team is constantly growing to respond to all requests – across the country. For our customers, this means one thing: they can rely on us under any circumstances.
We also supply equipment to the military structures. And we are glad that in such a critical area as defence, real attention is paid to quality control, because it is also about safety, about life, about professionalism. This means that we are really in our place.
— You mentioned the launch of an online store. What makes it special?
— This is possibly the first online store of consumables in Ukraine (and perhaps in the world) specifically for legal entities. We have done our best to make the procurement process for laboratories as simple as regular online shopping. No piles of paperwork, no complicated approvals: minimum bureaucracy, maximum convenience. We believe that this is an important step into the future.
— Digitalisation often causes resistance in teams. How have you managed to avoid this?
— How do you maintain customer trust in critical conditions?
— Everything works simply and transparently for us. Business processes are not formal instructions, but living, understandable tools, and every employee knows where to find and how to use them. All activities are fully digitised, and thanks to this, we simply do not have classic conflict situations. When something goes wrong, we do not look for someone to blame, but improve the system. This is what ensures harmony within the team.
ANASTASIIA PAIKINA: “MY TASK IS TO HELP PEOPLE NOT JUST “SURVIVE”, BUT TO LIVE THEIR LIVES
— HONESTLY, DEEPLY, TRULY”
Our guest will start the conversation with the following words: “I am a practical psychologist with more than five years of experience, specialising in depth psychology, and working in the areas of transactional analysis, cognitive behavioural therapy and symbolic drama. At the same time, I conduct scientific work - I study the topics of mental stability, personality development scenarios, neurodiversity”... Therefore, our conversation will focus on manifestations of aggression and methods of overcoming it.
— Mrs. Anastasiia, in this issue we have decided to address the issue of personal boundaries. Where do they start?
— It is, first of all, about being aware of your own boundaries. The first step is to establish a connection with your own body. The first signals of a violation are irritability or anger. Ideally, everyone should clearly prescribe for themselves: how you can behave with me and what is unacceptable.
If you have been shouted at seven times, and you have not reacted, then you do not keep your boundaries. But the most difficult thing is not just to say “no”, but to withstand the reaction in response. After all, it is often about manipulation, insults, aggression. In such situations, it is important to remain resilient.
— Aggression is a violation of boundaries. How to deal with it even at the household level?
— I don’t entirely agree with this statement. Aggression is a basic emotional setting of a person. It should not be feared. It is important to distinguish between aggression and affect. We must learn to experience it ecologically. If you experience aggression as a threat, anxiety, or other unpleasant states, the conversation should be stopped immediately. It is difficult, but the phrase: “I will not continue the conversation in this tone. This style of communication does not suit me…” is a skill that is worth mastering.
— Ms Anastasiia, one more important question. Today, many mothers and women experience despair and internal tension. How should we act towards children in such states?
— The main thing, as I said, is to be aware of the problem that you can work with. Aggression often appears where a person loses contact with themselves. That is, a woman should stop seeing herself exclusively as a mother. Regain at least a part of yourself. Pay attention to what brings you joy outside of motherhood.
Try to understand the source of your anger and allow yourself to feel it, but without destruction. If you have already snapped at your child, it is important to explain that it was difficult for you, emphasise that it is not the child’s fault, apologise and start looking for a way out of this state. Don’t hesitate to ask for help – from your family, friends or a psychologist. Gradually restore your inner integrity without selfdestruction.
— What are the main tips you can give our readers - those who stayed in Ukraine and those who left?
— Allow yourself to be different. Attitudes like ‘I should be...’ don’t work. Sadness, doubt, and vulnerability are normal. Emigration is not easier than life in Ukraine. And you know, I will say even more: you need to feel sorry for yourself. This is a form of self-love. I wish you endurance without hardening, strength without aggression, and love despite losses. May your heart remain alive wherever you are.
Ukrainians are a light that cannot be extinguished.

— Greetings to all readers! I am skilled in 12 body and facial massage techniques. My personal professional preferences are lymphatic drainage, bamboo stick massage and Creole massage. In addition, I work with cans, blades, and practice therapeutic and preventive, myofascial, and sculptural facial massage. I also have extensive experience in complex body sculpting massages. I am talking about working with cellulite and fibrosis to correct the figure.
- Tell us more about lymphatic drainage massage.
- Lymphatic drainage massage is a very useful procedure, especially for those who have undergone surgery, for example. It ranks first among women in France. However, it is relevant for all women in the world, as well as for children. I work with many foreign women, and each of them needs something special, which, thanks to my extensive experience, I can reproduce one hundred per cent. I am confident in this because I have people of all nationalities among my clients and I know what an individual approach is. As for Ukrainian women, they mostly come to me for beauty treatments. They are looking for recovery and energy.
— Many people today suffer from body clamps, clenched jaws... How
exactly do your hands help to relieve this?
— Indeed, this is already a clear trend. Women come for rehabilitation and recovery. Psycho-corrective massage
helps fight stress and burnout. In the modern pace of life, massage is no longer just a pleasant procedure. These are hours of recovery, rebooting... I am also often approached by Ukrainian women who just want to talk in their native language – they address me not only as a masseuse, but also as a
‘psychologist’. Massage is a language of thoughts, energy and body. Through touch and conversation, it is easier for women to experience emotions. It is a deep process that affects the mental and physical state. It is a useful exchange of energy that is so lacking.
— Can you assess the level of your French colleagues?
— According to my clients, the French are inferior in techniques to Ukrainian specialists. They are stronger, perhaps, in osteopathy and kinesiology. But when it comes to massage to stabilise the psycho-emotional state or work with chronic diseases, we have an advantage. I really appreciate the knowledge I received in Ukraine and I am proud of my teachers.
— Mrs. Liudmyla, in conclusion, I would like to discuss the topic of tactile hunger among women.
— Yes, it is relevant. Many women who have emigrated adapt quickly: they learn the language, find work. But they lose physical contact, the contact that is born in love - in an embrace, in intimacy. Their bodies suffer, become blocked, tension and pain appear.
In such cases, I offer therapeutic massages. They are like a magic healing pill.
In France, I have a mission: to tell Europeans that we are a strong nation consisting of decent people who are fighting for survival and at the same time are highly skilled in their field.

— How do you assess the importance and necessity of the notary’s role in the US legal system?
— The role of a notary in the United States is primarily to guarantee the authenticity and legal force of documents. A notary acts not as a lawyer, but as an impartial witness who confirms the authenticity of a signature, the identity of the signatory, and sometimes the intentions of the parties. This is extremely important in a state governed by the rule of law, where most obligations are executed in writing.

— What are the advantages of online notaries compared to the traditional approach to legal documentation?
— Remote Online Notarisation (RON) allows you to notarise documents regardless of your location. This is especially relevant for Ukrainians abroad or persons temporarily residing outside the United States. The online session is conducted in real time with mandatory audio and video recording, which provides a complete record of the process and increases the level of security.
— How do you advise clients to ensure security and confidentiality when conducting online document transactions?
I work through certified secure platforms that meet US government standards. I recommend that clients use only officially licensed services, avoid connecting to open WiFi networks, do not transmit personal data via messengers, and carefully check the notary’s certificate before starting the procedure.
— What changes have you noticed in the work of notaries in the United States as a result of technological innovations?
— Notary practice has become more mobile, flexible and accessible. Clients can receive services at any time and from anywhere in the world. The requirements for notaries in the field of personal data protection have increased, and the list of technical knowledge required for quality service has expanded.
— What is your view on the prospect of creating international standards in the field of online notarial services to facilitate global transactions?
— This is a demand of the times. In today’s world, where transactions are made between parties from different continents, international recognition of online notaries would greatly facilitate the legal circulation of documents. This issue requires intergovernmental dialogue and legal unification, and I fully support such initiatives.
— What specific difficulties arise during online notarial sessions compared to the traditional format?
— The most common problems are related to technical limitations on the client’s side: an unstable internet connection, lack of a camera or microphone. There is also a lack of understanding of the procedure or distrust of the remote format. Certain difficulties arise from the refusal of some foreign institutions to recognise online notarial acts, even with an apostille. In such situations, it is important to have the experience and ability to accompany, advise and protect the client.

Kateryna MANZHULA is a dermatovenerologist, trichologist, founder of the first highly specialised trichology clinic Dr. Kateryna Manzhula Сlinic in Poltava, member of UHRS, EADV. In the interview, the doctor explains why there are no universal tests before treating alopecia, whether it is possible to stop hair loss without medication, and how to distinguish a true trichologist.
— Mrs. Kateryna, what tests should be taken before starting treatment for alopecia?
— There are no standardised examinations for hair loss. After all, excessive hair loss – both on the scalp and body – is a symptom (sign) of a certain disease. That is why it is necessary to establish a diagnosis and determine what exactly caused these changes: hormonal disorders or autoimmune processes, or they have appeared on the background of stress / deficiencies / previous diseases / pregnancy / general anaesthesia.
When the diagnosis is known or presumptive, additional tests are prescribed. The gold standard in the diagnosis of alopecia is trichoscopy, which gives a clear picture of the condition of the scalp and hair.
— Is it possible to stop hair loss without medication –for example, just by changing one’s care or diet?
— Yes, if the hair loss is caused by changes in eating habits, stress and sleep disturbances. This is the so-called chronic telogenetic hair loss. This is a condition in which the hair growth phase is shortened and the hair prematurely goes into the hair loss phase. On trichoscopy in such patients, we will see diffuse thinning and a large amount of regrown hair in the root area. And the length, according to patients, will be a “mouse tail”.
— When to sound the alarm: how much hair loss per day is considered normal?
— There is no normal amount. Hair loss is very individual. What is normal for one person is an alarming symptom for another. Usually, patients know their normal range and if something goes wrong, they seek help.
— Can shampoo affect hair loss or is it just a myth?
— No, this is a myth. The shampoo does not have a sufficient concentration of active ingredients, and it remains on the skin for no longer than 60 seconds. Therefore, it is not possible to effectively influence hair loss or growth.
Products that can have a real impact should stay on the scalp for at least 4 hours.
— When should you visit a trichologist rather than a dermatologist?
— A trichologist is the same as a dermatovenerologist. The speciality ‘trichologist’ does not exist in the medical classification. According to the handbook of qualification characteristics, only a dermatovenerologist can treat hair and scalp.
— How to recognize a real trichologist today?
— First of all, he or she must have a higher medical education, a certificate of a dermatovenerologist, as well as certificates of completion of courses in trichology. This is important because the lack of an official specialty «trichologist» gives rise to scammers who profit from inexperienced patients. The consequences are money down the drain, wasted time and disappointment in the medical system.
