Honoring those lost on 9/11 From USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Public Affairs ARABIAN GULF
Today marks the 15th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, a date that holds a meaning for hundreds of Sailors of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (CSG), currently launching strikes in support of Operation Inherent Resolve while deployed in the Arabian Gulf. During a ceremony to remember another day that will live in infamy, Chief Selects folded our national ensign. Below explains what each fold represents: “The First Fold – In honor of the thirteen original colonies and our forefathers who founded this great nation. We salute you. The Second Fold – To those men and women who lost their lives on American Airlines flight 11 that crashed into the North Tower at 8:46 a.m. We salute you.
