U.S. Army Transportation Corps Regiment Bldg. 5020 2221 A Avenue Fort Lee, VA 23801 Under the leadership of the Chief of Transportation, The U.S. Army Transportation Corps serves as the spearhead for the development of Transportation doctrine, training, leader development, organizations and material requirements needed throughout the force structure. The mission of the Transportation Corps is to train the Army Transportation Corps Soldiers and civilians and develop its leaders, support training in units, develop deployment and movement doctrine, establish applicable standards, and guide the Army’s future Transportation capability. The Transportation Corps is organized under the branch regiment concept. The Chief of Transportation serves as the Regimental Commander and Commandant of the Transportation School, while the Office of the Chief of Transportation serves as his operational headquarters for the Transportation Corps. The Transportation Corps was established July 31, 1942 by Executive Order 9082. Transporters have a long history of answering the nation’s call. As far back as the Revolutionary War when General George Washington appointed the first Wagon Master, Transporters have been there to move and sustain American fighting forces. Successful operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Rwanda, Haiti, and Bosnia have continued to demonstrate the successes of the Transportation Corps Soldiers. The past accomplishments and the future vision of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps are testimony to the professionalism, dedication, and pride that have made the Transportation Corps truly “The Spearhead of Logistics.”
U.S. Army Transportation School 711 B Avenue Bldg. 2300 Fort Lee, Va. 23804 Phone: 804-765-1959 The mission of the U.S. Army Transportation School is to train the Army’s Transportation Soldiers, civilians, and members of other Services, develop transportation leaders, support training in units, assist in developing deployment and movements doctrine, establish applicable standards, and assist in developing future transportation capabilities. The School’s mission also includes coordinating Joint Transportation management, planning procedures and technical skills for members of all uniformed services, including the military of Allied nations. The Transportation School conducts training at three Installations: Motor Transport Operators are
trained at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; Cargo Specialists (88H), Maritime enlisted and warrant officers, and Rail are trained at Fort Eustis and Transportation Management Coordinators, Mobility Warrant Officers are trained at Fort Lee.

The Deployment Process Modernization Office serves as the proponent for the Army deployment process. DPMO identifies and develops corresponding policies, concepts, doctrine, training and enablers, and conducts experiments, analyses, and studies to enhance the deployment and redeployment of Army forces.

OCOT is a General Officer-level staff which manages Transportation Corps Regiment, enlisted, warrant officer, officer, and civilian career progression in conjunction with the U.S. Army Human Resources Command and various major army commands within the framework of the eight personnel life cycle functions. The Officer Proponency Division manages officer programs and policies in conjunction with the U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, and the Major Army Commands. The warrant officer proponent is responsible for the personnel life-cycle management, from recruiting to separation, of all warrant officers in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps. The Enlisted Personnel Development Division provides the Transportation Corps with expert field knowledge in all enlisted proponent matters; manages eight life cycle functions to include advising Soldiers on career progression and promotion opportunities.
