In December 2013, we (Glebs Kiselovs from the Business School together with Aleksandrs Pereverzevs from the Media School) were repre‐ senng Bournemouth University in the mar‐ keng challenge “The Pitch 2013”. We had to create an innovave product for the Pedigree and express our ideas clearly in eight PowerPoint slides. Therefore, to create the most innovave and creave project, we started with a market re‐ search and found many interesng facts about dogs, their owners and Pedigree’s competors. Next, we created the presentaon about our idea – the Social Network for Dogs. We outlined all the benets of this project for Pedigree, its customers and partners. We calculated all the expenses on this project and possible prot that Pedigree might have. In addion, lmed a short video about our idea and posted it on YouTube.
During this project, we learnt how to express ideas clearly, pracced our representaonal sills, improved teamwork qualies and got many use‐ ful contacts in the business environment. More‐ over, being the Business school and Media school students, we shown that Bournemouth University is a perfect environment that con‐ nects people from different spheres and helps them to share with their skills and experience. Finally, we achieved very good results in this challenge and received amazing feedbacks. Our project was menoned as one of the most crea‐ ve and innovave and Pedigree was very excit‐ ed about it. Therefore, we hope that in few years we will have a chance to register on the Social Network for Dogs. Moreover, skills and experience that we got from this challenge was a good reward for us and I am sure that these skills will be very useful in our future career. Glebs Kiselovs, 26.06.2014
