Entertainment The new year opens with a rich events calendar of interesting offers including opera, ballet, classical music and jazz. There’s something for everyone, including Grease the musical, a truly timeless social phenomenon that took disco dancing to a whole new level and inspired a whole generation to put on their dancing shoes.
SOPHISTICATED EXPERIMENTAL JAZZ Among the last dates of the highly popular 2015-2016 ‘Aperitivo in Concerto’ program, worthy of particular note is the European premiere of the inspirational Afro-American pianist Muhal Richard Abrams, one of the fathers of Chicago’s Great Black Music. A not-to-be-missed concert where, among others, Abrams is backed by several exceptionally talented artists including trumpeter Jonathan Finlayson (a member of the Steve Coleman band) and phenomenal vibraphonist Bryan Carrott.
