What are the options for me to book the island?

You can book your stay at Milaidhoo Maldives through the website or your preferred usual channels

Exclusive Island Buy-Out: you can also opt to book the entire island to spend time with friends and family in complete privacy and exclusivity For further information, please contact reservations@milaidhoo com

Is it safe to travel to the Maldives with regard to COVID-19?

General health and safety precautions should be taken by you to protect yourself while travelling to the Maldives As a guest of Milaidhoo, you will not have to visit Male’, as you will be escorted by Milaidhoo airport staff from the arrival hall at the International Airport straight to the seaplane lounge.

Milaidhoo Maldives is a small resort exclusive to a limited number of guests with no outsiders allowed on the island The villas offer complete privacy with housekeeping and butler services adjusted to your wishes. Milaidhoo offers a wide variety of private dining experiences and excursions, all of which can be tailored to suit you

What is the cancellation policy if I wish to cancel my booking?

From 11 January 2023 until 10 May 2023, cancellations up to 30 days before arrival will be fully refunded.

From 11 May 2023 until 22 December 2023, cancellations up to 14 days before arrival will be fully refunded

Should the cancellation be related to a government decision or air travel restriction, the cancellation will be free of charge

The above cancellation terms do not apply for the island buy-out

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

Our reservation team will ask you to share a copy of your passport to reduce touchpoints during the hotel registration process

Electronic Health Declaration: all travellers to the Maldives are required to submit a health declaration within 96hrs prior to their arrival to the Maldives.

It is recommended that you to research the airline safety and hygiene measures, as well as their requirements when processing the booking

It is recommended to check your home destination's policy regarding COVID-19 before flying back home from Milaidhoo

ARRIVAL AT MALE' INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Our Airport Staff will welcome you on arrival outside the arrival hall at the airport

You will be taken to the Seaplane check-in counter together with your luggage

Hand luggage is limited to 1 piece of 3kg and 25kg for check-in luggage Check-in luggage must not exceed 32kg (luggage overweight charges apply) as repacking is not permitted for hygiene purposes As check-in luggage may be sprayed with disinfectant, please avoid sensitive material (e g leather)

After check-in for the seaplane, our airport representative will escort you directly to the departure lounge

Are there any travel procedures I should be aware of?

THE SEAPLANE JOURNEY

We can offer you the option of chartering a private seaplane exclusively for you, as this reduces the waiting time at the airport as well as having to fly with other passengers from other resorts. The seaplane journey will be offered at the minimum cost

ARRIVAL AT THE RESORT

Upon arrival at the resort your personal island host will welcome you and escort you to your Villa The villa is fully disinfected after every guest's departure Your personal Island Host will take care of your every need during your stay

UPON CHECK-OUT

Your personal Island Host will make arrangements for check-out and final payment to be done in your Villa We recommend avoiding carrying cash while travelling, for convenience Should you wish to leave a gratuity for a staff member, we can add the amount to your final bill

DEPARTURE BY SEAPLANE

Should your airline require a negative COVID-19 test result, we will perform the test prior to your departure. Please inform your Island Host in advance

Electronic Health Declaration: all travellers are required to submit a health declaration within 96hrs prior to their departure from Maldives

When you arrive at the airport by seaplane, our Milaidhoo airport staff will welcome you at the seaplane jetty and escort you to the transfer vehicle with your luggage You will be taken to the international departure terminal

Should you test positive to COVID-19 within 14 days of departure from Maldives, please do inform us immediately We will report to Health Protection Agency of Maldives for contact tracing purposes

What are the hygiene precautions taken by Milaidhoo?

WHAT IS DONE TO PREPARE THE VILLA BEFORE MY ARRIVAL?

The entire Villa, including furniture and fixtures and your private pool, will be disinfected for your safety and comfort Only one member of staff will enter your Villa and housekeeping service will be arranged based on your preference The pool in the Villa will be fully disinfected and regular pool testing will be done during the housekeeping service.

ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

All activities and excursions will be available for you to book exclusively in case you wish for more privacy.

SERENITY SPA

Our Spa treatment rooms are all in separate pavilions and offer total privacy We will provide the treatments as usual in our Serenity Spa or in your Villa, however, additional hygiene measures will be in place

GYM

The Gym equipment and all public area washrooms will be disinfected regularly during the day We recommend you use the wipes provided to clean the gym equipment after use

MEASUREMENTS TAKEN FOR MEMBERS OF STAFF

Should staff members have fever, cough, cold etc , they will not be allowed to work and will undergo quarantine on the island in an isolated room If needed a test will be done to ensure the staff member is free of COVID-19

What is the protocol if you are suspected of having an illness while at the resort?

If you show symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, difficulty in breathing, etc , the resident medical personnel will be informed and attend you in your Villa Your travel history and other relevant information will be checked and you will be medically evaluated

What is the protocol if you do not have COVID-19 related symptoms?

The resident medical personnel will examine you, provide respective medication and attend you on a daily basis A contact tracing record will be kept as a precaution

What is the protocol if you have COVID-19 related symptoms?

The resident medical personnel will take appropriate action and isolate you in a separate room The Health Protection Authorities (HPA) of the Maldives will be informed The General Manager and Resort Manager will personally trace back your activities and identify the staff with whom you had contact to be isolated in separate rooms Further advice and action will be taken based on the HPA protocol

What measures have the local health authorities put in place to prevent an outbreak?

The government has taken various steps to ensure the best possible way to contain the spread of COVID-19 within the Maldives. Among others, strict monitoring of travellers upon arrival and strict hygiene rules are implemented by the HPA

Do you have isolation rooms for guests or staff members who show symptoms?

We have isolation facilities for any guests who show COVID-19 symptoms, and we will follow the guidelines implemented by the HPA Additionally, we have rooms allocated for staff members for isolation purposes if needed

Do you have any medical facilities available at Milaidhoo?

Yes, we do have first-aid medical facilities at Milaidhoo Our medical personnel are available 24 hours a day The nearest hospital can be reached within 20 minutes by speed boat

Is there a Covid-19 Insurance Plan for travellers to the Maldives?

Yes! Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives offers a COVID-19 insurance plan for travellers, which specifically covers the related costs of a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, while on holiday in the Maldives

Are there any rules and restrictions for divers?

If you tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 6 months, you would have to undergo a medical check and get clearance for diving from your doctor Before diving in the Maldives, fill PADI Liabilities and the Fit for Diving health declaration form created by Diver Medical Screen Committee in association with The Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society, DAN (US), DAN Europe, Hyperbaric Medicine Division and University of California, San Diego, which will have to be evaluated by your dive instructor before you will be allowed to dive

If you have received a COVID 19 vaccine, you will need to wait for seven days until you will be allowed to go diving as a safety precaution It is advised to extend the waiting period to 14 days if you had experienced strong side effects from the vaccine for more than 48 after vaccination

It is highly recommended to call DAN for up-to-date information You are encouraged to bring your own diving / snorkelling masks
