This is a faithful 1662 Book of Common Prayer. The language has been minimally updated for modern readers. The New American Standard Bible 2020, the most accurate word for word translation available, is used throughout. Therefore, this Prayer Book is accurate and yet readable. This is an update to the previous edition that used the English Standard Version. Included inside is the service of Compline, which was not in the original book, but is in common use. The order of the book is that of the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer as it is more logically laid out, but the text and services are those of the 1662. The 1662 Book of Common Prayer is the prayer book that took the Gospel around the world. It is good Augustinian theology in Benedictine prayer forms. The richness of this book is life changing for those who use it.
