Difference Between Plastic Extrusion and Injection Molding Plastic products have become very popular among the people in the last few decades. We might all have at least a dozen plastic products in our house. We all use plastic, but how much do we know about the production process? There are multiple ways to manufacture plastic. The two most popular procedures adopted for manufacturing plastic are Injection Molding and Plastic Extrusion. Injection Molding Machines are used for Injection Molding, a process where plastic is heated into a mold, then cooled down and solidified. The process of Plastic Extrusion forms a continuous profile by melting down the raw plastic.

Injection Molding - A Brief Introduction! Injection Molding is a plastic manufacturing process that was invented by Joseph Brahman in the year 1795. Although, the hydraulic press was first invented by Thomas Burr in 1820. Which means that the entire process of injection molding was only patented on paper till 1820. The entire procedure was refined by the use of copper and brass alloys in the year 1894, which led to the development of the Injection Molding process that we use today. However, it was not till the 1930s that Injection Molding became a well-known process for Plastic Manufacturing. There are various Injection Molding Machine Manufacturers working on building the equipment today.

The method of Injection Molding is considered ideal when there is a mass-production of plastic products to be done. It is very helpful when it comes to manufacturing plastic products with complicated shapes. Due to the popularity of this method, the number of plastic injection molding manufacturers have been increasing.
