Carievale 4-H Beef Club Buyers Catalogue

Hello everyone, The Carievale 4-H Beef Club of 2021-2022 consists of 5 cloverbuds, 10 juniors, and 10 intermediates, and 2 seniors. We have our meetings on the second Monday of every month from October to May at the Carievale Golden Years Centre. This year we have learned about nutrient requirements, beef cow & heifer management, handling & facilities, the beef carcass and the beef industry today. We toured a feedlot and a butcher shop. We had presentations from a feed representative and we made neck ties and rope halters. Members presented a public speaking speech at our January meeting. Our club has been involved in district activities consisting of the fall rally, curling, public speaking and bowling. One member attended the 4-H Science Day in Saskatoon in November and 2 members attended the provincial AGM in Saskatoon in March. Since 2010, we have created an annual sales catalogue. The members write up their own descriptions with pictures of their steers and then we send then out to local businesses, who may be interested in purchasing a steer at the annual auction in Alameda. We are back to a live auction on June 11th at Chopper K Auction Mart, with the option for online bidding by DV Auction. We welcome you in person to register by 4 pm for a meet and greet with the members. Thanks for your time in considering the purchase of a steer. Hi my name is Ace Hodgson I am 14 years old and this is my first year in Carievale 4-H Club. I am in grade 9 and I go to school at Carnduff Education Complex. This is my steer named Dutch. Dutch is a Simmental steer. Dutch was born on March 20, 2021. He has been a quiet steer to work with and very easy to lead. Dutch is not a nervous steer. By the time achievement days comes Dutch will weigh about 1300 pounds. The sale that Dutch will be in is on June 11th at Alameda. Hope to see you there!

This is Arabella’s 5th year in 4-H and is a junior. She is a daughter of Jessica Buchanan & Eoin Kennedy Buddy has had a stand out, flashy disposition and conformation from day one. Buddy is a March calf from Bella’s own cow Tulip. Bella has been able to do all the work with this steer on her own. Buddy is a solid steer with lots of body that will finish out strong. Buddy should finish around 1180 LBS. Buddy is a Short horn cross Red Angus steer.
This is Ben’s 6th year of 4-H and is a junior. Son of Jessica Buchanan & Eoin Kennedy
J J is a very solid built and strong beef calf. He is a Red Angus. He has the substance and the frame. J J will finish out to be around 1250 LBS. Very quiet and playful steer to work with and to be around. Ben has been able to do all the work with this steer himself!
Clara White

My name is Clara White. I am 12 years old. This is my 2nd year in beef 4H and I will be showing my steer King. I live on a ranch with my parents Tyce and Amber White as well as my 2 older sisters Kenzie and Jordanna. We raise cow calf pairs and had some fun with adding color into our Angus herd this year. King is a blue roan! King will be up for sale at the Alameda Auction June 11th. King is prebooked into Horizon Meats in Maryfield July 18th and can be delivered or buyer may choose their butcher of choice also. King will be good and finished by achievement day weighing in around 1200lbs to give you lots of good juicy steaks.
Hello My Name is Dane Taylor. This is my 8th year in 4H. this year my steers name in Jerry. Jerry has been a good steer and has fed well. He will be approx. 1200lbs by show day and finished well. Jerry is a red angus calf with a bit of Simmental in his Dam. Jerry is nice and quiet and has been fun to work with. I got Jerry from my Mom and Dad. My name is Brexton Beaudoin, I am 9 years old. I live on a farm south of Gainsborough with my mom, dad and two brothers. This is my second year of beef 4h and I am really loving it! My steer this year is a simm x angus named Jackpot from my Uncle Danny and Aunt Terrie’s farm outside of Melita. Jackpot will be for sale June 11th at the Alameda auction mart.

My name is Jordanna White, and this is my steer Dip. I have been in 4H for three years now. I have been working with Dip since November and he has been overall pretty easy to deal with, doing anything you want if you have a bucket of grain. Dip will be up for sale at the Alameda Auction on June 11th. Dip is pre-booked into Horizon Meats in Maryfield on July 4th or you can book with the butcher of your choice. Dip is growing rapidly and will be finished by achievement day, weighing around 1300lbs.
Kaage Taylor “Jeffery”
My name is Kaage Taylor. I am 9 years old and in grade 3 at Carievale School. This is my second year in 4H. I live on our farm with my Dad, Mom, Sister and Brother. My Steer is an Angus X and he is ready to eat. He will be up for sale at the Alameda Auction Mart on June 12th.
Hello My Name is Kade Taylor. This is my 4th year in 4H. this year my steers name in Meat Loaf. Meat Loaf has been a good steer. He will be approx. 1200lbs by show day and finished well. Meat Loaf is a Black Angus x Hereford calf. Meat Loaf is nice and quiet and has been fun to work with. I got Meat Loaf from my Mom and Dad. My name is Kenzie White. I am 17 years old. This is my 3rd year in beef 4H and I will be showing my steer Finnly or “Fin” as I call him. Fin will be up for sale at the Alameda Auction June 11th. Fin is pre-booked into Horizon Meats in Maryfield July 4th and can be delivered or the buyer may choose their butcher of choice. Fin will be finished by achievement day weighing in around over 1300lbs. He has one heck of a brisket on him!

My name is Mardi Cowan and this is my 3rd year in the Carievale 4-H Beef Club, as a Cloverbud member. My steer’s name is Bozo, and he was born on May 5th, 2021. My family lives south of Gainsborough, SK where we farm and ranch.
Bozo has been sold to a private buyer.
Ryan Cowan “Stewart”
My name is Ryan Cowan, and this is my seventh year in 4-H. I am an intermediate. This is my Hereford steer Stewart. He was born March 3rd, 2021. His name came from the show “Jessie”. He is easy to handle. He has been fed oats and barley chop and alfalfa hay. Stewart should be well finished and weigh around 1075 pounds for sales day on June 11th. Hi my name is Karissa Elliott and this is my tenth year in 4-H. This year I am the president of the Carievale 4-H beef club. I am graduating this year and this will be my last year in 4-H. This is my steer named Willie. Willie is a Simmental steer. He was born in April of 2021. Willie has been a quiet and easy to lead steer. He is always one of the first to get to the trough when it is time to be fed. By achievement day Willie will be well finished and weighing about pounds. I hope to see you at the sale!
Hi my name is Daylan Elliott, I am 15 years old and this is my tenth year apart of the Carievale 4H beef club. I am in grade 10 at the Carnduff Education Complex. This is my steer Jessy. My name is Vanessa Cowan. This is my 4th year in the Carievale 4-H Beef Club and my first year as a junior. Devil was born on March 20, 2021. He is a Hereford. I named him Devil because the pigment around his eyes reminds me of a devil. He has been fed oats, barley, and alfalfa hay. Devil should finish around 1050 pounds for sales day on June 11th. My Name is Amos Gilliland. I am 9 years old and this is my first year in 4-H. I picked my steer because I liked his whiteface. I am excited to be able to sell my first steer this year. My name is Mya Gilliland, and I am 13 years old. I live on the Gilliland Bros. Charolais farm, close to Carievale SK. This is my fifth year in 4-H. My Parents are Ron and Jackie Gilliland.
