TMC CLEANING SERVICES

ince 2006, Cleaning For a Reason and their partner maid services have volunteered their time to clean for more than 17,000 women – valued at more than $5 million. Terry Clayton, who owns TMC Cleaning Services, along with his wife, Michelle, is one of those Official Chapter partners. And Terry estimates his company has probably helped close to 80 women over the last four years. “Cleaning For a Reason offers the gift of free housecleaning for women who are undergoing treatment for any type of cancer,” says Terry. “My sister, Debbie Sardone, had the idea to start the nonprofit organization when a prospective client told her she couldn’t afford cleaning services because of her cancer treatment. “From that moment, Debbie, who owns Buckets & Bows Maid Service in Texas, decided that no woman dealing with cancer would ever be turned away by her business,” Terry continues. Today, more than 1,200 maid services in the United State and Canada donate free housecleaning services, taking on two patients at a time, and providing four consecutive months of general house cleaning. “Our goal is to let these brave and strong women focus on their health and treatment while we focus on, and take away the worry and work of, cleaning their homes– free of charge,” says Debbie.

Terry’s company, TMC Cleaning Services, was founded in 2009, and as soon as he and his wife were able, they became partners in Cleaning For a Reason. “My wife’s been cleaning houses for close to 25 years.” says Terry, “So, after helping my mom start her cleaning business in Loganville about 20 years ago, we decided to go out on our own to serve the Covington and Conyers areas. “My mom was already a Cleaning For a Reason partner, so it just seemed natural that my wife and I would do the same thing,” Terry continues. “Our family’s been touched by cancer – first my dad died from cancer, and now my mom is a 15-year survivor of ovarian cancer. It seems everybody you know has a family member who’s been affected by cancer.” While Terry’s proudest of TMC Cleaning Services’ partnership with Cleaning For a Reason, his company offers plenty of other reasons to be proud. All their cleaners are bonded and must pass background checks and drug tests. Customers who chose TMC know they’ll always have the same friendly, dependable person cleaning their home.
