Joint Treatment: "Perf-A-Bead", Joint System.

Miscellaneous plywood backing, etc. shall be of thickness shown on the plans, interior grade Douglas Fir Plywood. Unexposed faces may be "B" or "C" grade. All exposed faces shall be "A" grade.

All joints, screw head and other depressions in the surface of the wallboard shall be treated in accordance with the recommended manner with "Perf-A-Tape" joint system.

Guarantee

MOISTURE CONTROL

The Contractor and his subcontractors shall guarantee all owrk installed under this Contract for a period of one year from the date of acceptance and shall bind himself to repair or replace at his own expense, any work which mayshow defective material or workmanship.

Plastic Waterproofing

All vertical or horizontal external corners shall have "Perf-ABead" or "Dur-A-Bead" corner reinforcement applied in accordance with manufacturer's directions.

The Contractor shall obtain and present evidence to the Owner that the following minimum insurance is in effect prior to commencing any work: a. Workmen's Compensation Insurance: The Contractor shall procure and shall maintain during the life of the Contract Workmen's Compensation Insurance in accordance with State Law, the Employer's Liability Insurance in the amount of $100,000.00, for all of his employees to be engaged in work on the project under this Contract or the amount required by State Law, whichever is greater. In case of any such work sublet, the contractor shall require the subcontractor similarly to provide Workmen's Compensation for all of the latter's employees to be engaged in such work unless such employees are covered by the protection afforded by the Contractor's Workmen's Compensation Insurance. b. Contractor's Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance: The Contractor shall procure and maintain during the life of this Contract Contractor's Public Liability Insurance in an amount not less than $500,000.00 for injuries, including accidental death, toany one person, and subject to the same limit for each occurrence, and Contractor's Property Damage Insurance in an amount notless than $500,000.00 c. Automotive Bodily, Liability, and Property Damage Insurance: The Contractor shall obtain and maintain Automotive-Bodily Injury and Automotive Property Damage Insurance to cover all contractor owned vehicles, hired vehicles, and non-owned vehicles in an amount not less than $500,000.00 for each person and not less than $1,000,000.00 for each accident, and Property Damage Liability in an amount not less than $100,000.00 for each accident. The Contractor shall similarly require each subcontractor to provide the same insurance in the same minimum limits.

MECHANICAL DOORS AND GLASS

1.11 WEATHERPROOF RECEPTACLES Heating and AIr Conditioning

Aluminum Storefront, Doors, Frames and Glass Aluminum entrance doors shall be either single or double doors as shown, single acting, equal to Howmet Narrow Stile Series 212. Doors shall be hung on three butt hinges, and frames shall be integral weatherstripped blace type stop. Doors shall be equipped withoverhead closer with holdopen, either surface mounted or concealed in frame as listed on the door schedule, and each door or pair of doors shall be equipped with AdamsRite maximum security cylinder lock, standard push and pull hardware, weatherstripping, flush bolts on pairs of doors and vinyl insert "lipped" type threshold similar toAtlas #783. See door schedule for any variation required from these standards. Finish for all storefront and doors to be BRICK-ANODIZED. Vertical members shall be continuous from sill to head. All sections shall be fastened with concealed clips, angles and anchors. All window sections shall be solidly secured together with concealed brackets and angles, and the whole left as rigid as possible. Sections shall be cut and fitted as detailed on the drawings. All cuts and ends shall be machined and joints shall be smooth and accurate and free from burrs or rough edges. Provide blocking as necessary for hardware shown Glass or specified. Provide appropriate anchors to abutting surfaces. All glass is storefront members, doors and interior partitions shall be 1/4" thick polished plate or float glass. Glass is to be clear or bronze. See storefront elevations and details on the drawings for type of glass in the various locations.

Where a choice of brands is given, any named will be acceptable. Where brand names are given followed by the phase "or equal", equals may be substituted by the Contractor, subject to approval in writing by the Owner. Safety Precautiions The Contractor will be required to familiarize himself with and abide by all current Federal, State or local regulations concerning the safe conduct of construction practices, materials, equipment, or methods. He shall also require all subcontractors on the job to abide by all such regulations, and shall protect himself, the Owner, Architect, and general public, by insurance or otherwise , from any claim, fine, or damage occurred byfailure of this workmen or those of his subcontractors to observe such regulations. Cleaning Up The Contractor at all times shall keep the premises free from accumulation of waste materials or rubbishcaused by his operations. At the completion of the Work he shall remove all his waste materials and rubbhishfrom and about the Project as well as all his tools, construction equipment, machinery and surplus materials and shall clean all glass surfaces, wax floors, vacuum carpet, and leave the entire Project, exterior and interior, clean and ready for occupancy by the Owner. Temporary Toilets The Contractor shall provide temporary toilets meeting requirements of the State Health Department. Before completion of the job, toilets shall be torn down, all holes filled, and site left in a clean, sanitary condition. Utilities and Temporary Services The Contractor shall supply temporary water, heat and power for all building purposes. The General Contractor shall pay for all utilities used during construction, including water, electricity, and gas. Meter fees, hook-ups, and inspection fees are to be paid by the subcontractors involved. All utilities shall be connected and maintained until final inspection is complete and the building is accepted, at which time all meters are to be read and the Owner or Tenants will thereafter assume responsibility for the utilities. No borrowing of house meter will be allowed. SITEWORK/DEMOLITION

Finish Hardware

Butts may be Hager, Stanley, Soss or McKinney. Locksets may be Schlage, Russwin, Yale or Sargent. Panic hardware shall be VonDuprin or Sargent. All closers shall be LCN. Stops, cabinet hardware,and miscellaneous hardware may be Ives, Stanley, or equal brand as apropriate for theintended use. Hollow Metal Doors and Frames Doors shall be formed of 18 gauge cold rolled steel, and 1-3/4" thick commercial duty type, similar to Steelcraft Manufacturing Co., Series L-18 Full Fiush. Doors shall be stiffened and sound deadened with Kraft honeycomb laminated to the inside of the center panels. All doors shall be bonderized and receive one coat of baked-on prime paint. All flush doors shall have rigid vinyl top cap or solid metal flash top and reinforcing for door closer, and shall be rigid vinyl bottom cap to make bottom flush against threshold. FINISHES Responsibility Before starting work this Contractor shall inspect surfaces to be painted and shall report to the General Contractor any defects found so that they may be corrected. Painting shall not be begun on walls or ceilings until all damaged spots are repaired by Contractor. Preparation All spaces shall be broom clean before painting is started, and all surfaces to be painted shall be dry. Dust, dirt, grease, and other extraneous matter shall be removed from surfaces to be painted. After the first or priming coat is applied, all nail holes, cracks, etc. shall be fitted with putty of a color to match that of the finish. Putty shall be brought flush with the adjoining surface in a neat and workmanlike manner. Putty shall be allowed to set before the second coat is applied. All metal surfaces shall be washed with mineral spirits to remove any dirt or grease. Where rust or scale is present, it shall be wire brushed or sandpapered clean before painting. Shop coats of paint that are marred or damaged shall be cleaned and touched up with metal primer. All finish woodwork shall be sanded smoth before priming, and shall be sanded lightly between coats with No. 00 sandaper.

In general, all painting shall be done with brush or roller. No application of paint by spraying is to be done, with exception of lacquer sealer coats, and special items such as grillwork or registers requiring painting. Exterior painting shall not be done while surface is damp, or during rainy or frosty weather. The Contractor is responsible for touching up existing work on the exterior of the rear wall or side walls to match existing. He shall paint all new electrical devices, conduit, panels, etc., and aNy other work installed by this contract on the rear wall of the building, including a remote location suchas a wiring trough.

Masonry Wall Reinforcement

Masonry Mortar Masonry Cement: Magnolia Masons' Mix by Southern Cement Co., Birmingham, Alabama, or Longview Mortar Mix, by Longview Lime Corp., Birmingham, Alabama, or Ideal Masonry Cement, by Ideal Cement Co., Mobile, Alabama. Mortar for All Masonry Work: All mortar for this project shall be Type S, mixed 1 part Masonry Cement, 1/2 part Portland Cement, and 2-1/2 to 3 parts sand byvolume, mixed in clean, watertight boxes. Cleaning Masonry On completion, point up all exposed masonry, fill all holes and joints, remove loose mortar, cut out defective joints and re-point where necessary. Masonry surfaces to be exposed shall be thoroughly cleaned with Sure-Klean masonry cleaner as manufactured by Process Solvent Co., or equal detergent.

All filters shall be "throw away" type. The contractor shall not start up and test the system without the proper size filters being installed,and shall maintain clean filters during the construction period. On the date of final inspection, he shall replace all filters with clean new filters for acceptance of the building by the owner. All registers and grilles shall be of extruded aluminum construction and of sizes shown on the drawings, as manufactured byHart and Cooley, Metalaire, Titus, Tuttle and BaIley, or an approved equal manufacturer. They shall be designated on the drawings or in the absence of designations to the contrary, all shall be equal to the following: Wall supply register-Metalaire #VHD with opposed blade damper. Ceiling supply register-Metailaire #LD, SD, LTD, LS3D or LS4D Door grilles-Metaiaire #300-DG-DF Wall return air grilles-Metalaire #RH Ceiling return air grilles - Metailaire #CC-5 cube core type

Unit Brands The following brands of HVAC units are to be used exclusively Bryant, Carrier, or Trane. Any deviation from this list must be approved by Owner prior to bidding. Controls Furnish and install waLl mounted thermostats as listed on the Drawings. Thermostats to be furnished with and designed to function with control panels on A/C units. Furnish electrician with wiring diagram to enable himto rough in wiring. Furnish locking covers for thermostats. Existing Units Any existing units shown to remain are tobe serviced and cleaned and brought to working condition. Contractor is to provide Owner with a letter stating that the existing units are working properly at teh completion of the job.

1.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A. The Contractor shall examine the site and shall verify to his own satisfaction the location of all utilities, and shall adequately inform himself as to their relation to his work before entering into a Contract and he shall base his bid on any conditions which may be encountered during the progress of the work.

Existing Adjacent Slabs

Masonry wall reinforcement shall be used in horizontal joints every second course in concrete block walls and partitions.

The entire system shall be thoroughly cleaned after completion and tested for proper operation. Contrator shall make all necessary adjustments, corrections or repairs.

DIVISION 16 - BASIC ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

Schedule

Galvanized steel, manufactured for thickness wall indicated, similar to standard "Du-O-Wall".

Where ducts are suspended directly from the building structure, duct hangers shall protect the duct vapor barrier by sheet metal aNgles at the corner under the entire widtho f the duct as required.

After completion of painting work, the Contractor shall remove all paint where it has been spilled, splashed,or splattered on surfaces including fixtures and glass windows.

Protection and Curing

MASONRY

If flexible round duct is shown to be used, it shall be OwensCorning FR-25 insulated with foil reinforced outer jacket.

Cleaning

No paInting shall be done in temperatures below 50 degrees F. Except as the manufacturer directions specify otherwise, at least 24 hours shall be allowed between coats for drying.

All new concrete slabs that abut existing adjacent slabs are to have a continuous, full depth expansion joint between slabs. Slabs are to be tied with a minimum of No. 4 rebars at 36" maximum. Rebars must be drilled into exsting slab and set into slabs a minimum of 6" each side.

Ductwork shall be either Owens-Corning or Certainteed (no other brand allowed) type 800-FRK, foilreinforced, 5# duct board, completely fabricated and installed according to Sheet Metal and A/C Contractors National Association Publication Duct Manual Fibrous Glass Construction, and according to UL 181, including flare door staples 2" on center, and hanging methods. Duct tape shall be Fason 0805 pre;ssure sensitive aluminum duct tape only. (No other brand) Duct shall contain all turning vanes, dampers, etc.

A hardware allowance of $100/ea. is to be provided for each door.

After the fill is in and before waterproofing is applied, the entire area of the building shall be spray treated with termite control material. Material shall be either a solution of Dragnet or TC Durshan. Treatment shall be applied at the rate of 1 gallon of chemical to 10 square feet of building.

Protect concrete against frost and rapid drying and keep moist for at least 6 days after placing; cover cement finish with colorless curing compound within 24 hours after finishing and maintain in good condition until the installation of permanent floor covering or until directed. Covering shall be a type that will not stain or discolor finished concrete surfaces.

All electric and control wiring is to be performed by the electrical contractor and is not part of this contract. This Contractor will furnish the electrical contractor with a complete wiring diagram for the installation and shall assist the electrical contractor as to its operation and manner of installation. The air conditioning contractor shall furnish al starters,relays, thermostats, control switches, motors, etc. The electrical contractor shall furnish all wire disconnects, conduits, boxes, etc. for all wiring and install frame. All power and controlwiring is to be by the electrical contractor.

Transformations shall be made with a slope of 1 to 7 where space conditions permit. DUCTWORK SIZES SHOWN ON DRAWINGS ARE CLEAR INSIDE DIMENSIONS.

Application

The warranty periof for termite treatment performed under this paragraph shall not commence until the date of the final inspection of the building and the first renewal premium for this service shall not become due or payable for one yeart following the date of final inspection. When the existing concrete slab is tobe removed or trenched, contractor is required to saw-cut slab.

Air conditioning units, dampers, supply and return duct work, duct insulation, registers and grilles, aLl controls, exhaust fans, etc., and other necessary related items for the correct installation and operation of the system.

A. Weatherproof receptacles shall be GFCI duplex receptacles as specified under WIRING DEVICES, mounted in a cast iron type FD conduit box and fitted with gasketed metal cover with spring. Weatherproof receptacles shall be flush mounted in exterior walls. 1.12 WIRING DEVICES A. Wiring devices shall be as listed. The color of device shall match color of outlet cover plate. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to provide plugs, receptacles and fittings required for any &S equipment furnished or Leviton installed or Pconnected under the contract. Unless otherwise specified, all outlets including voice/data outlets shall be fitted with cover plates. Plates shall be one piece of the required number of gangs. Plates shall be polycarbonate.

Insulated sheet metal duct may be used in lieu of Fiberglass.

Temite Treatment

Upon completion of the work, the contractor shall furnish the Owner a contract for protection against termite damage renewable annually at the Owner's option, and including perpetual responsibility during the contract life for damage by ;subterranean termites.

The Air Conditioning and Heating Contractor shall comply with the regulations and ordinaNces of the state and city. He shall comply with the requirements of Fire Code, Electric Codes and any other regulations as may affect his work.

Materials - Aprovalof Equals Where items of equipment and/or materials are specifically identified herein or on the drawings by a manufacturer's name, model or catalog number, only such specific item may be used in the base bid, except as hereinafter provided.

B. Where permitted by the National Electrical Code, wiring for both residential units and commons areas may be type NM, non-metallic sheathed cable (ROMEX). Contractor shall refer to NEC Article 336, and shallinstall type NM cable in accordance with all requirements of this section. Type NM cable shall not be routed underground or run exposed.

All interior pine, fir or 1 coat enamel undercoat plywood woodwork, paint 2 coat semi-gloss enamel grade doors noted to be painted. All gypsum board walls and 1 coat primer tinted to match finish ceilings noted to be painted. 2 coats latex paint All doors, woodwork, shelving, 1 coat clear or tinted stain as etc., noted as natural finish 2 coat required. clear sealer Gypsum Wallboard and Partition System Materials Gypsum wall board shall be tapered edge "Sheetrock" as manufactured by U.S. Gypsum Co., or equal brand, 48" wide, in lengths as long as practical to minimize number of joints. See Finish Schedule for thickness and type of wallboard. REgular wallboard shall be 1/2" thick Sheetrock regular. Fire rated wallboard shall be 5/8" thick Sheetrock SW Firecode panels.

B. The Contractor shall furnish and install properly all materials, devices, equipment, supports, controls, appurtenances, etc., mentioned or required to make complete or satisfactory installations in working order whether shown or not. All electrical equipment shall be connected in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. C. All material furnished shall be new and shall conform to all rules and codes as recommended or adopted by the National Association governing the manufacture, rating and testing of the material. All electrical equipment shall be UL listed for the intended use. 1.2 LAWS, PERMITS AND FEES A. The entire electrical work shall comply with the rules and regulations of the City, Parish, and State, including the State Fire Marshal and State Board of Health, whether so shown on plans or not. The Contractor shall pay fees for permits, inspections, etc. The Contractor shall contact utility companies and make arrangements for all service connections. The Contractor shall contact the local power company regarding connection of permanent service and include in his bid any fees, construction charges or other charges associated with obtaining electrical service to the facility. 1.3 SITE INSPECTION A. The Contractor shall visit the site and familiarize himself with difficulties attendant to the successful execution of the work before bidding. Failure to visit the site shall not relieve the Contractor of the extent or conditions of the work required of him.

1.14 SPECIAL PURPOSE RECEPTACLE A. Provide receptacles for special purpose devices as indicated on the plans. Refer to equipment specification for proper receptacle to be supplied. 1.15 SAFETY SWITCHES A. Furnish and install safety switches as shown on the Drawings. All switches shall be fused NEMA Heavy Duty Type HD and Underwriter's Laboratories listed. All switches shall have switch blades which are fully visible in the "OFF" position with the door open. Switches shall be deadfront construction with permanently attached arc suppressers. Lugs shall be UL listed for copper and aluminum conductor and front removable. All current carrying parts shall be plated to resist corrosion. Switches shall be quick-make, quick-break such that during operation of the switch, the operation of the contacts shall not be restrained by the operating handle after the closing or the opening action of the contacts has begun. Switches shall have cover interlocks to prevent opening of the switch door while the switch is in the "ON" position or closing the switch with the door open. Switch shall have padlocking capabilities in the "OFF" position. B. Safety switches shall be rated 600 volts for 480 volt service and rated 240 volts for 208 volt service. Switches shall be motor rated when used for motor loads. Switches shall be NEMA 1 enclosed for indoor applications and NEMA 3R for outdoor or wet area locations. Switches used for service entrance shall be service entrance rated. Safety switches shall be furnished complete with fuses. 1.16 FUSES A. All fuse holders shall be provided with dual-element, timelag fuses as scheduled on the Drawings or as recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Fuses shall be rated 200,000 AIC. Fuses shall be Buss Fusetron, Economy Econ, or Chase Shawmut Tri-Onic for component protection and Buss Limitron, Economy Econolin, or Chase Shawmut AmpTrap for circuit protection. 1.17 LOAD CENTER PANELS A. Panels shall be sized as shown on the drawings and schedules, and shall be the plug-on breaker load center type. B. All branch breakers are to be quick-make, quick-break (over center toggle device) with trip indication and common trip on all multiple breakers. Trip indication shall be clearly shown by breaker handle taking a position between "ON" and "OFF" position. Breakers shall be ambient compensated to carry full NEC load in 120 degree F room temperature. Panelboards shall have distributed phase busing throughout. Any two adjacent single pole breakers shall be replaceable by a two pole breaker, and any three adjacent single pole breakers shall be replaceable by a three pole breaker. CIRCUIT BREAKERS SHALL BE CALIBRATED TO CARRY FULL LOAD OF CIRCUIT AT 50 DEGREES C. C. Minimum interrupting capacity of breakers shall be as shown on panel schedules. No breakers shall be rated less than 10,000 RMS symmetrical amperes. D. Branch breakers for three phase panels shall be numbered 1, 3, 5, etc. from top to bottom beginning at the top of the left hand column so that #1 shall be on phase A, #3 on phase B, and #5 on phase C. Similarly, single phase panels shall be numbered 1, 3, 5, etc. from top to bottom beginning at the top of the left hand column so that #1 shall be on phase A, #3 on phase B, #5 on phase A, etc. E. All breakers shall be plug-on type. Panels for 120/208 volt or 120/240 volt service shall be Siemens type EQ-III, or equal. 1.18 MULTI-METER CENTER A. The grouped metering centers shall consist of main service entrance rated breaker module, metering modules with branch breakers, and tap box for CT metering. Metering centers shall be rated for 120/240 volt, three phase, 4 wire service as provided from the utility company. Meter centers shall be suitable for underground service entrance. B. The main bus of adjacent modules shall be connected by a single-bolt joint assembly. The single-bolt shall be accessible for tightening without removal of barriers. Vertical bus shall be welded to the main horizontal bus and tied to the meter socket jaws by means of connecting straps. Bolts joining the straps to the bus shall be accessible outside the socket base with the meter removed. Bus connections shall be provided between socket load jaws and individual branch breakers. Line side meter jaws shall have meter guides. All meter guides shall be spring reinforced. C. Meter sockets shall have individual covers of ring or ringless style design. A separate compartment under a separate cover shall be supplied for branch circuit breakers. Covers over tenant section wireways shall be removable with the watt-hour meter sealed in place. D. All current carrying parts shall be tin-plated to resist corrosion. Branch breakers shall be quick-make, quick-break and trip-indicating. All lugs shall be suitable for use with 60o/75oC copper or aluuminum wire. Meter sockets shall be continuous duty rated. E. Main disconnect shall be service entrance rated breaker, with minimum 42,000 amp interrupting rating, or as shown on Drawngs. Main breaker shall have barrel-locking, padlocking, or other sealing provisions. The main breaker shall be a quick-make, quick-break, load-break device. Main breaker shall be 1200 amp rated, Siemens type HPD6. F. Meter modules shall have meter sockets listed by Underwriters Laboratorier, Inc. Meter sockets shall be rated for 125, 200 or 400 amp, 2-pole or 3-pole branch breakers. Number of meters and quantity per meter module shall be as shown on the Drawings. Enclosure shall be rated for exterior mounting and shall be fabricated from G-90 zinccoated steel finished with ANSI light gray paint applied by an electrodeposition process. G. Meter centers shall be Siemens Unified Modular Metering Center.

1.4 SYSTEM VOLTAGE A. The distribution voltage shall be 120/240 volt, single phase, 3 wire, as provided from the utility company as described on the drawings. 1.5 MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT A. All materials, equipment, and accessories installed under this Contract, whether approved or not, shall be new and shall conform to all rules, codes, etc., as recommended or adopted by the National Association(s) governing the manufacture, rating and testing of such materials, equipment, and accessories. 1.6 RACEWAYS AND FITTINGS A. Raceways permitted on this project shall be hot dipped galvanized rigid steel conduit; electrical metallic tubing (EMT); flexible metallic tubing; liquid-tight flexible metal conduit; and rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) conduit. 1.7 RACEWAYS A. Lay-in duct, JIC Wireway and troughs shall be NEMA 1 for indoor application and NEMA 3R for outdoor or applications exposed to weather or water. Raceways shall be be sized as noted on Drawings, and shall have hinged or screw covers with captive screws. Finish shall be gray enamel. All components shall be UL listed for steel enclosed wireway or auxiliary gutter. Wireway shall be Square D "SQUARE-DUCT", Tanco "Wiring Troughs", or equal by Hoffman or Wiegmann. 1.8 OUTLET AND SWITCH BOXES A. Outlet boxes in concealed conduit systems shall be flush mounted. Boxes shall be galvanized steel of sufficient size to accommodate devices shown and shall have raised covers where required to meet requirements of NEC Article 370. 1.9 WIRE (600 VOLT AND BELOW) A. All conductors used in the work shall be of soft drawn annealed copper having a conductivity of not less than 98% of that of pure copper. Conductors shall be standard code gauge in size, insulated and shall have insulation rated for use at 600 volts.

1.19 APPLICABLE GENERAL CODES AND REGULATIONS A. B. Equipment which has been inspected and approved by the Underwriter's Laboratory shall bear its label or appear on its list of approved apparatus. 1.20 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION A. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to furnish and install proper guards and instruction signs for prevention of accidents and to provide and maintain for the duration of construction any installations needed for safety of life and property. 1.21 PANELBOARD SCHEDULES A. The Contractor shall provide and affix typed panelboard schedules for each panelboard. Schedule will accurately list equipment served by each branch circuit. 1.22 WIRING - GENERAL A. Unless otherwise specified, all wiring shall be installed in conduit. No wire shall be smaller than No. 12 unless noted otherwise. Wiring for low voltage control may be #14 AWG. Wire for each branch circuit shall be of single size and type from the branch circuit protective device the last outlet of the circuit. BX wiring shall not be allowed.

1.23 ELECTRICAL SERVICE GROUNDING A. Main electrical service equipment, conduit work, motors, panelboards and all other electrical equipment shall be effectively and permanently grounded. Grounding connections and conductor sizes shall be in accordance with requirements of the National Electrical Code, Article 250 and local or State ordinances. 1.24 SUPPORTS AND FITTINGS A. The Contractor shall furnish and install all supports for equipment under this contract. Supports shall be spaced at intervals of eight (8) feet maximum for rigid conduit and five (5) feet maximum for EMT and as necessary to obtain rigid support. Perforated strap supports will not be permitted. 1.25 MOUNTING HEIGHTS A. Unless otherwise noted on the drawings or required by the Architect, the following mounting heights shall apply: Toggle Switches 4'-0" Receptacles 1'-6" Panelboards 6'-0" to top Telephone Outlets 1'-6" (48" for wall phone) Safety Switches 5'-0" to top 1.26 EQUIPMENT FUSING A. All equipment shall be furnished complete with fuses as described herein and/or as shown on the Drawings. Contractor shall furnish one set of spare fuses for each size fuse furnished on the project. Fuses shall be delivered to Owner prior to acceptance of project. B. Fusing for protective equipment shall be of the type specifically designed for the intended application. Fuses for service entrance rated equipment shall be Class L. Fuses for branch circuit protection shall be Class RK5 unless specified otherwise. Provide protective fuses as specifically required by the equipment manufacturer. PAINTING Responsibility Before starting work this Contractor shall inspect surfaces to be painted and shall report to the General Contractor any defects found so that they may be corrected. Painting shall not be begun on walls or ceilings until all damaged spots are repaired by Contractor. Prepartion All spaces shall be broom clean before painting is started, and all surfaces to be painted shall be dry. Dust, dirt, grease, and other extraneous matter shall be removed from surfaces to be painted. After the first or priming coat is applied, all nail holes, cracks, etc. shall be fitted with putty of a color to match that of the finish. Putty shall be brought flush with the adjoining surface in a neat and workmanlike manner. Putty shall be allowed to set before the second coat is applied. All metal surfaces shall be washed with mineral spirits to remove any dirt or grease. Where rust or scale is present, it shall be wire brushed or sandpapered clean before painting. Shop coats of paint that are marred or damaged shall be cleaned and touched up with metal primer. All finish woodwork shall be sanded smooth before priming, and shall be sanded lightly between coats with No. 200 or greater sandpaper. Cleaning After completion of painting work, the Contractor shall remove all paint where it has been spilled, splashed, or splattered on surfaces including fixtures and glass windows. Application No paInting shall be done in temperatures below 50 degrees F. Except as the manufacturer directions specify otherwise, at least 24 hours shall be allowed between coats for drying. ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOFING Remove and legally dispose of existing shingle roof and all components. Install 30 lb. felt over existing. Install new 30 year upgraded shingles, shingle capping, ridge vents, new prefinished “white” drip edge, new valley metal (verify color,) new lead plumbing vent sleeves, new gas exhaust vents (verify color,) metal flashing at tight valley area by additions(verify color.) Ridge Vents: Lomanco shingle-over vents BRICK MASONRY The work required shall consist of all masonry work including accessories and services required for the proper completion of the work indicated on the drawings. The work shall also include building all sheet metal, thru-wall flashing, anchor bolts, reinforcement anchors, slot anchors, weep holes, etc., as the work progresses. BRICK MASONRY UNITS: a) All concealed brick shall be equal to Acme No.1 common brick, free from major cracks. This brick is to be furnished as part of the General Contract. b) All brick used in piers, walls, chimneys, paving and steps and exposed to view shall match existing queen-size red brick. The Owner and Architect will select the brick. No black or white brick shall be laid in the interior or exterior. REINFORCING: Veneer walls shall be constructed using 22 gauge corrugated steel, 1” wide, 1.5 oz. hot-dip zinc coating or 7-mil copper coating. WEEPHOLES: Weepholes shall be installed at 4'-0" o.c. and according to manufacturer's recommendations. DAMP COURSE: Where detailed on the drawings, shall be Nevastral HD-15 or approved equal. STORAGE OF MATERIALS: Store materials under over in a dry place and in a manner to prevent damage or intrusion of foreign matter. During freezing weather, protect all masonry units with tarpaulins, or other suitable material. Store cement and air-setting mortars in water tight sheds with elevated floors. Protect reinforcement from the elements; immediately before placing reinforcement shall be free from loose rust, ice or other foreign coatings, which will destroy or reduce the bond. Chimney tile units shall be protected against wetting prior to use. WORKMANSHIP: c) The Contractor shall build in all sheet metal, thru-wall flashing, anchor bolts, reinforcement, anchors, slot anchors, weep holes, etc., as the work on the Plans or where directed by other Contractors to accommodate their work or installation. d) See Drawings, schedules and details for type, quantity and locations of masonry work required. e) All brick shall be kept clean as work progresses. All joints shall match existing. Solid brick shall be laid so that all joints are thoroughly filled with mortar. Veneer walls shall be kept clean inside of cavity. All brick walls and fences shall be true and plumb and built to thickness indicated. All workmanship shall be of the highest grade. No lapping of units will be acceptable. No broken units shall be laid in the walls. CLEANING & POINTING: Point all holes in exposed masonry. Cut out defective joints and re-point with mortar. BUILDING INSULATION QUALITY ASSURANCE Use aged and settled values for thermal resistance factors (R-values), tested in accordance with ASTM c518 at 75 degrees F and 50% relative humidity for at least 6 months. TESTING AND INSPECTIONS Inspect insulation for proper installation. Correct defects, such as voids, gaps, or insulation compressed behind pipes, before accepting work. INDOOR AIR QUALITY Insulation products that contain loose fiber or chemicals that offgas should be sealed from living spaces. Protect ducts and HVAC system from loose insulation particulates: fiberglass, cellulose, vermiculite, etc. MATERIALS Thermal Batt Insulation: Formaldehyde-free fiberglass batts: made with lower toxicity acrylic resin. Standard glass fiber: Minimum 15% post-consumer recycled content, minimum 30% total recycled content INSTALLATION Thermal and Acoustic Batt Insulation: Installers shall wear protective clothing and respirators Install thermal insulation with facing to inside of wall assembly. At the completion of the project, the Contractor shall furnish the Owner three copies of a bound booklet containing written warranties furnished by the General Contractor, the Plumbing Contractor, the heating and Air Conditioning Contractor, the Electrical Contractor, and a roofing warrantyfor any penetrations, additions or revisions tothe roof and flashing. There shall be a letter from the General Contractor stating dates of warranty and a list of major subcontractors with contact person's name, address and phone numbers. Contractor is to attend a one year warranty review inspection at the site prior to the expiration of the warranty period. Any items listed by Owner as defective are to be repaired by Contractor.

All coats shall be sanded as necessary after each applicaiton of joint cement or topping has dried. The final coat and subsequent sanding shall leave all gypsum wallboard and treated areas uniformly smooth and ready to receive decoration.

B. Unless noted otherwise or specified, insulation shall be type THW, THWN, or THHN for sizes up to and including No. 2 AWG. Insulation for wire sizes larger than No. 2 AWG shall be type THW, XHHW, or THHN. Lighting fixture wire shall be heat resistant type AF or TF (150oC) with 300 volt insulation minimum. Wires shall be of the single conductor type. Sizes No. 8 AWG and larger shall be stranded. Sizes No. 10 thru No. 14 shall be single strand solid copper. 1.10 TYPE NM CABLE A. Type NM, non-metallic sheathed cable (ROMEX) shall be two or three conductor PVC insulated wire with PVC jacket. Cables shall be supplied with bare copper ground wire. Conductors shall be copper. Cable shall be suitable for both exposed and concealed work in dry locations at 60oC.

After all fill is in place and compacted, and all plumbing and electrical lines areinstalled and backfilled, and after all termite treeatment is accomplished, the entire are of the building shall be covered with a waterproofing membrane, placed over the fill before the slab is poured. Membrane shall be .006" thick visqueen polyethylene sheet plastic, run in the same direction with joints lapped 6".
