Internal Organs Inducted into Hall of Fame by Michele Earle El Monte

Putting a musical twist on the study of internal organs, fifth graders at Parkview School presented the science musical – The Internal Organ Hall of Fame. Under the guidance of teacher, Ramona Chandler, the students spent two months studying the human body leading up to the musical performance. “Over the past two months we’ve been reading about the human body in science and writing about the internal organs like the heart, lungs and stomach,” said Chandler. “The musical complements our studies greatly and aligns with the science standards, plus the students had a great time doing it.” While presenting a comprehensive look at the internal organs and their functions, the musical was entertaining and funny. Students portrayed the brain, lungs, heart, arteries, and intestines and there was even a raging hormone. Each body

Five Temple City High School students were recognized at the Los Angeles County Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student Recognition Award competition on March 10, 2015 in Irwindale. TCHS senior Summer Hofstad received a TCHS gold medal and a silver medal from Los Angeles County for her Digital Photography project. Sophomore Kyle Mac received a gold medal from TCHS and a bronze medal from Los Angeles County for his Computer-Assisted Drafting and Design project.
