Puss in Boots The Miller family are down on their luck and they are not alone.

The King and Queen are broke and the kingdom is in peril. Luckily, to his mother Bertie’s delight, the gregarious Will Miller falls in love with princess Kate and is inspired to make his fortune so that he can save the kingdom and win her hand in marriage.

However the evil ogress Slymore has other ideas about the future of the Miller’s son and the princess. Unknown even to himself, Will has a very secret weapon in his arsenal that comes to the rescue - his boot toting cat. Together they battle the forces of evil... ..but to find out if they succeed and true love wins out you will have to come and watch the ever popular Weald Theatre Group annual charity pantomime in January 2016.

The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark

Tuesday 16th February, 2.30pm

Based on the classic children’s book by Jill Tomlinson. Plop is a baby Barn Owl. He lives at the top of a tall tree in a field. He is fat and fluffy, with big round eyes and very knackerty knees.

Plop is exactly the same as every barn owl that has ever been – except for one thing. He is AFRAID of the DARK! One day Mrs Barn Owl suggested that Plop fly down into the world and find out about the dark for himself…and so began Plop’s adventures.

This funny, gentle and reassuring tale is brought to life with an irresistible blend of music, puppetry and storytelling. Written especially for small people aged 3 – 7 and grown ups who still sleep with the light on.

The Blockheads

The Blockheads are a legendary outfit that has grown in stature from the early days of the Stiff tour in 1977, right up to the present day. Backing up Ian Dury’s poetic lyrics, this is the band that brought you ‘Hit Me with your Rhythm Stick’, ‘What A Waste’, ‘Reasons to be Cheerful (Part 3)’, and ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll’, among many others.

Rarely off the road since the demise of Ian Dury in 2000, but now with Derek Hussey fronting the band, the Blockheads are still one of the most underrated British bands of all time, with a legion of fans of all ages.

Monday 4th April - Friday 8th April 10.00am - 4.00pm Award winning theatre academy Act Too return this Easter Holiday for yet another week of fun for kids aged XXX to XXX Filled with dance, drama and songs, from a variety of musicals, film and TV, the kids will get the chance to dynamically explore the creative arts, working on pieces that they will create themselves. The week will culminate in a closed performance for friends and family.. We will dynamically explore the creative arts working on pieces that the students themselves will chose.

We fill every day of the five day workshops with fun things to do while developing skills, confidence and friendships. The week will culminate in a closed performance for friends and family of a show we will have written ourselves and to showcase what we have achieved through the week.

Fay Hield and the Hurricane Party Saturday 23rd April 8.00pm

Fay Hield is a singer who seems to have been born knowing how to carry a tune but who also has the rarer gift of knowing how to go straight to the heart of a song.

A leading member of super folk group The Full English which won Fay many accolades and Best Group and Best Album awards at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. In that same year Fay was nominated for Folk Singer of the Year. Her longstanding band, The Hurricane Party, brings the full range of traditional music at times contemplative but often full of vibrancy and passion.

Fairtrade Festival in Partnership with Martlets Hall

London Gospel Choir

Saturday 30th April 8.00pm

Trying to fit the London Community Gospel Choir into a neat slot is virtually impossible.

Formed in 1982 and internationally renowned they are adaptable, flexible and create dynamic melodies with rich harmonies. In a special one-off performance they are coming to Burgess Hill as an 8 piece choir with a 5 piece band but will deliver their unique LCGC sound. LCGC is known for their funky gospel flair, swing-beat, R ‘n’ B, traditional and soulful arrangements, with invigorating choreography and vocal gymnastics. LCGC are outstanding to watch!

Whatever adjective you choose to describe the sound and vision of the London Community Gospel Choir, “there ain’t no stopping them now!”

Our box offices are open Mon - Fri 9.30am 5.00pm and Sat 9.30am - 12.00pm and will also be available half an hour before every performance.

Ticket bookings made over the telephone and online are subject to a £2.00 transaction fee.

This fee will be added at the time of booking.

Group discounts are available on most productions for over 10 people +. Some of these offers are specified within the brochure but please contact us directly.

Reservations are only permitted for large group bookings. (Conditions apply)

Refunds & Exchanges

Please make sure you check your tickets. Once purchased they cannot be exchanged or money refunded. The box office will attempt to resell any returned tickets on the understanding that the venues own seats take priority. Resold tickets are subject to a £1.00 charge per ticket sold.

Accessibility

We hope to share the experience of live events with as many people as possible and take the issue of accessibility very seriously.

Both venues have level access to all main areas and accessible toilets are located on the ground floor of both centres.

Only one discount applied per ticket We offer a free companion/carer tickets for people who require assistance during an event.

Our chairs are not suitable for young children.

An induction loop system is installed at both centres. This can be used with hearing aids set to the ‘T’ position.

There are limited blue badge holder parking spaces available at Clair Hall. Martlets Shopping Centre is located within 2minutes of Martlets Hall and has ample disabled parking available (charged).
