N ORTH PLATTE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

will provide one building that will increase space for Electrical Technology, Electrical Automation, local trainings for continuing education and Career Exploration opportunities for local high schools. The new building will be located close to the existing facility and will be in close proximity to the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) program as well as the Building Construction program’s two project houses.
The Electrical program has operated out of the existing facility since 1979. Since then, the program has grown to include an Electrical Automation degree and continues to operate full classes with an occasional wait list of students. Local electrical employers continue to request students as potential employees as the demand for these types of positions both in residential and commercial capacities. MPCC is committed to ensuring that students are able to enroll in the program and provide a learning environment that mirrors industry standards. The new space will allow MPCC to accept additional students in the Electrical program, continue to grow the Electrical Automation program and work with local high schools to deliver career exploration opportunities. The additional space will provide safe working conditions, state-of-the-art technology and will give instructors the space to continue to grow the program, meeting the needs of area employers.
