The Trauma Nursing Core course is a 2-day course designed by the Emergency Nurses Association for RNs. It is designed to provide the learner with basic trauma knowledge & psychomotor skills. LPNs, Respiratory Care & Paramedics may attend for CEU’s, but will not receive a course completion card or take part in testing. Completion leads to a certification card that is valid for four years. It is required that you review your student manual and complete the 8 interactive online modules. Modules must be complete prior to the first day of class or you will not be allowed to proceed. LIFESTYLE & WELLNESS
DRIVER EDUCATION

Driver Education is an essential first step to learning safe, life-long driving skills. Driving is one of the first major responsibilities in a teen’s life. Driver Education teaches teens basic traffic laws, driver awareness, rules of the road, and basic motor vehicle operation. This course consists of 20 hours of classroom time and 5 hours of driving time as required by the Nebraska DMV. The class prepares drivers for licensure by awarding a Drive Test Waiver upon satisfactory completion. Minimum student age is 14. This class is intended for entry level drivers ages 14-17. Students must attend all sessions, have a learner’s permit before class begins, and meet all drive requirements in order to obtain the Drive Test Waiver. The Nebraska DMV reserves the right to test anyone at any time. DRIVING SESSIONS WILL BE SEPARATE FROM CLASS TIME - YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE YOUR LEARNER’S PERMIT!

BASIC RIDER COURSE-MOTORCYCLE TRAINING

The Basic Rider Course is based on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum. Riders can get a license and learn essential motorcycle control skills in one course. The MSF designed the BRC for beginning riders with no previous riding experience, and it’s also recommended for returning riders. Students are required to complete the MSF eCourse online prior to the class start date. Students can take the eCourse for free and will receive instructions upon full registration.
Instruction focuses on fundamental basics needed to become a professional driver. Topics range from basic vehicle operation to whistle blower protections. Labs are hands on training for the driver enabling them to conduct a proper pre-trip, en-route, and post trip (DVIR) inspections, proper hooking and unhooking procedures, sliding of tandems and fifth wheels. Behind-the-wheel training is just that. Driver trainees will learn how to maneuver a tractor-trailer around tight corners, make proper lane changes, and drive in traffic. They also will learn and become proficient in backing and docking. At the end of this training, Central States Safety and Driver Training will administer the necessary CDL Skills tests for the driver trainee to get their CDL License. A major part of all instruction within this program deals with safety and professionalism of the driver.

Capturing Wildlife will explore gear and techniques associated with capturing wildlife imagery. Please bring the following if available: tripod, charged batteries, long focal length lenses and teleconverter if available.

Astrophotography- Capturing the Milky Way will be a location specific session (possibly Victoria Springs) where the mechanics, tricks, and secrets of astrophotography will be revealed. Please bring: camera, wide-angle lens, charged batteries, tripod, warm clothing, bug spray, snacks and soft drinks for an evening under the stars!
OGALLALA
PHOTOGRAPHY: CAPTURING WILDLIFE

This class will address the techniques, gear, philosophy and mechanics for capturing sharp wildlife images. The classroom session will be followed by a short shoot session at the Eagle Viewing Station at Lake Ogallala.

Astrophotography will be an “on location” shoot/instruction event at Enders Reservoir near Imperial. If you ever wanted to freeze the Milky Way and capture an image of it, this night is for you!
OUTDOOR COOKING

Ages: 13 and older. You don’t have to go camping to utilize cast iron campfire cooking skills. Learn to cook using a Dutch oven and a campfire! From safety to getting the coals just right, students will create a meal to share together around the campfire.

Ages: 8 and older. In this four-part class, youth will learn everything they need to kayak in open waters safely and confidently. No experience needed. Bring your excitement and join the club. Kayaks and life-jackets provided for class use.

READY, SET, ROLL!

Ages 7-13. Wild West Soap Box Derby Association members will instruct on the ins and outs of how a soap box derby car works. Participants will get to strap on a helmet and take a ride down the official derby track. (Class will be held at the Wild West Soap Box Derby Track 1402 N. Spruce St.)
FUN WITH TANGRAMS

Ages 5 and older. Do you like puzzles? If so, join the fun in using the tangram. During this workshop we will read a story and use the tangram to create animals. Each participant will get a tangram set to take home.
AMERICAN PRIDE
