ACHOIMRE Díríonn an páipéar seo ar an Teagasc Foirm-Dhírithe (TFD) agus an tionchar atá aige ar struchtúir chruinn na haidiachta sealbhaí i Rang 1. Is í fadhb an chruinnis a spreag an taighde seo, fadhb mhór atá aitheanta ag taighdeoirí i réimse an tumoideachais in Éirinn. Taighde feidhmeach a bhí i gceist leis an taighde seo. Thug an taighdeoir faoi shé seachtaine de cheachtanna TFD inar cuireadh béim ar leith ar an aidiacht shealbhach, le scrúduithe roimh an idirghabháil agus ina diaidh. Ag an deireadh, bhí sé soiléir gur chuir TFD go mór le hinspreagadh na rannpháirtithe chomh maith lena bhfeasacht teanga. Déanfar plé ar na modhanna múinte agus na hacmhainní oiriúnacha TFD.
ABSTRACT This paper focuses on Form-Focused Instruction and the influence it has on the accurate acquisition of the possessive adjective in 1st Class (6- and 7-year-olds). The problem of inaccurate Irish in gaelscoileanna, a problem identified by many leading immersion education researchers in Ireland, inspired this research. Applied research, in the form of six weeks of form-focused lessons, with ongoing assessments, allowed the researcher to gather information on its effectiveness. The positive results from the research showed increased language awareness and motivation, and allowed for the identification of effective teaching strategies and resources, suitable for the implementation of FFI.
