Slow Ride
by Katherine KnapikKatherine Knapik is a fine artist, scenic artist, and entertainment designer with a passion for making people stop and smell the roses and finding beauty in the mundane.

Growing up, Katherine got to spend a lot of time outside and traveling, and was overwhelmed by the beauty of nature and its intersection with the man-made world of architecture. She uses her skills now in painting and design to depict the everyday sights of rocks, trees, and buildings as beautiful illustrations and environments for the stage and beyond.

Welcome
Thanks for picking up our third annual issue of the Florida Art Guide. If you’re like us, you enjoy going to art shows. You delight in being surrounded by the tantalizing mix of colors, forms, textures, creativity (and fresh air) that can only be found at such an event. Being able to meet the folks who create this inspirational work, and hear their stories, is an added bonus. The same feelings apply when visiting a regional art gallery, or being given the opportunity to get inside working artists’ studios.
Afterwards, you’re often left wondering: “where can I go next weekend to experience something like this again?” Well, that’s what prompted the publication of this directory.
The Florida Art Guide was two years in the making and our first two issues were a resounding success. Lots of research, thought and care went into creating this guide for you. We wanted it to be a functional, attractive, easy-to-use resource with accurate, up-to-date information. Even with the hurricane damage last year, we have a great variety of galleries, fairs, and artists participating this year.
The Florida Art Guide includes many galleries that primarily offer original art and contemporary craft. The fair and event listings don’t include every art/craft show or art event. The juried shows and events listed here should be worth taking a “road trip” to visit.
When you talk to these shops and artists thank them for helping to make the Florida Art Guide such a success. We look forward to making the Guide bigger and better each year.
I hope the Art Guide helps you discover the diversity of original art and fine craft available to see and buy all over Florida.

A few notes on using this guide:
• We have divided Florida into five regions. You can see them all on the map below.
• Some of the gallery and event listings give websites you can visit for more information. We have eliminated the http://www. from these addresses since most current browsers don’t need them. But, if you have trouble accessing these sites, adding http://www. in front of the address might help.
• If the listing includes a Facebook page, you can type the words that follow the symbol into Facebook’s search field.

• If the listing includes an Instagram handle, you can type the words that follow the symbol into Instagram’s search field.

• These regions are color-coded throughout the guide. The pages for each region list the galleries in each city, alphabetically. Next are the museums in each city, alphabetically.
• Listings in the event sections (Art Fairs, Gallery Walks, Studio Tours, Artist Markets) are presented in chronological order. Each event is color coded so you can tell at a glance where in Florida it takes place.

• Studio Artists are listed alphabetically in their own section. Their contact information is included, so you can go to their web page or social media, or contact them directly to learn more about their art.
• If you know of a gallery or fair that you would like to see here next year, let us know by sending an email to:
