This review is taken from Amazon customer review over Schwinn Meridian Adult 26-Inch 3-Wheel Bike (Sports) I purchased this bike based on the reviews. It arrived quickly and it’s great! It rides very nice.

I’m a 38 with a back problem that keeps me from riding a regular bike. This was the PERFECT answer for me. I can ride with the kids and Hubby without any problems and without worrying about hurting my back while balancing a regular bike. The basket is great! You can fit a lot of stuff in it for a long bike ride (water,blanks, food, kites! A small sized dog could easily ride in the basket too!). Best part about the basket is that it collapses and folds onto its self so that it can be a flat “bed”.

There was just a few items to assemble. Most of the bike was pre-assembled, which surprised me. You do have to put on the, steering wheel, front tire and fender, the rear tires and fenders, the foot pedals, and connect the rear frame with the front frame (two bolts) and a small drive chain–which was easy. The basket has four bolts to attach it to the frame and that’s basically it!

One other point: It looks COOL! It has that beach cruiser look with a new twist.

This review is taken from Amazon customer review over Schwinn Meridian Adult 26-Inch 3-Wheel Bike (Sports) Bought this for my perfectly able-bodied wife who can’t ride a bicycle. Also, there was the concern that while she could just learn to ride a bicycle, carrying a child on the back (or front in our case using an ibert child seat) would make her nervous that she would fall with the addition of a moving child thus injuring the child. Thus it was decided that we would try a tricycle.

Well the bike is used to run errand like grocery trips to our local Trader Joes. Just throw the grocery bags in the back, strap the kid up front, and you’re good to go. No more of this The Art of the Bungee Cord or balancing bags on your handle bars nonsense. Just throw and go.

Ergonomics are upright but comfortable, bike is built better than what I was expecting for this price As for how the bike runs, it’s geared a little higher than most single speed bikes (yes it’s single speed) so don’t expect to be breaking any speed records but you’ll appreciate that once you hit an incline/hill as the extra weight can definitely be felt then. Some people wish for gears. I could see that as a benefit but where we live is pretty flat so it’s not an issue with us and the cost savings/ease of maintenance of having only 1 gear proves its weight in gold in this purchase.

Cons? The rear disc break leaves something to be wanted but the front break works just fine.

Like I said, you’re not going to be breaking any speed records so it’s not a big deal but you do have to apply some firm hand pressure to get the thing stopped quickly. That and it’s big and heavier than a normal bicycle. And it’s wide so on certain sidewalks, you might have to thread the needle as it were to fit between power/telephone poles and the adjacent garden bush. But then again, it’s not really a con if you know what you’re getting into. It’s a trike with a utility cage built in so don’t act surprised if you get one and are like whoa, this thing is so much heavier than my road bike.

Wife got a good ribbing from friends and family for getting what most people assume to be for older folk but after seeing how convenient it is, they are all like “what a great idea.” And even more surprisingly, “I want to try!” Like I said, ignore the haters, get one and they’ll understand soon enough.
