PROGRAM & MASSING PROPOSAL

Seasonal variations offers a wealth of research and teaching opportunities. Researchers can deepen our understanding of the natural world by examining seasonal patterns in the behavior of plants and animals, the effects of climate change, and the dynamics of ecosystems.

Allowing all seasons to unfold naturally in a park preserves its aesthetic appeal throughout the year. Each season brings its own unique colors, textures, and wildlife, contributing to the beauty and diversity of the landscape.

DAFFIN PARK

DAFFIN PARK

masterplan + proposed seating device

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The existing layout is filled with isolated spaces that prevent flow and connection throughout the community. Its disconnected plan creates a feeling of loneliness for the visitors because of the lack of connections through the overall site. Array, brings a proposal for this park to connect through functional spaces with strong gathering accents throughout for the community. The design would allow all visitors to have a different experience at different areas. While walking along the park users can experiment and interact with the site by occupying the several pavilions and courtsides that the project provides. At the end of the journey, it introduces a stadium that serves as a venue for a variety of activities the community can participate in. Array is designed to break the gap between nature and the users that exist within it.

ARCHIVE LIBRARY FOR ARTISTS BOOKS

ARCHIVE LIBRARY FOR ARTISTS BOOKS

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This library is a depository for a special collection book made by visiting SCAD studio artists. The books are essentially a gift for the Lacoste community and future SCAD scholars. The books in this library are never checked out. Thus, the building is a library ‘unique’, and in some ways both modern and historic in function. Books varying in size and interacting with the books should be a space of celebration and generational exchange.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING SCHOOL

Savannah, Georgia

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING SCHOOL

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The purpose of this project was to create an experiential learning school starting from old ruins taking into consideration old walls, boundaries, materiality, and context. This school allows people to experiment with spaces around the building without feeling enclosed in a room because spaces were created with no walls to create an internal circulation without defining edges. Offering a wide range of spaces and activities that will attract kids as the fenestrations, views, and materiality making them feel safe and comfortable

The design promotes a sense of place, creativity, and experimentation by providing many opportunities to interact with the site itself; having at the north the Savannah River and at the south the street to create opportunities for people there.
