Season draws to a close for Bromsgrove Sporting teams
With one eye fixed on their next campaign and another seeing out what remains of the current season, manager Brendan Kelly recently oversaw a couple of friendly practice matches for Bromsgrove Sporting’s first team.

With the pitch at the Victoria Ground currently being renovated for the next season both matches were played away.
First up was Stourport Swifts at Walshes Meadow where a fairly even contest ended up one all, then a week later an improved Sporting side gained a 5 - 2 victory against Rushall Olympic. The Red Recruitment Cup left incomplete at Christmas owing to lockdown restrictions was due to be finished at the end of May with round robin matches between Sporting, Alvechurch and Redditch United. With planning for next season well underway, Kelly is already looking to bring in new players though several current favourites are expected to re-sign for 2021/22. Sadly centre-back Tom Taylor has left the club as he is unable to combine playing with his new job. However coming in the other direction are new assistant manager Ian King and goalkeeping coach Adam Marusiak. The Ladies team have recently been on a run of good form winning three successive league matches and a friendly against Stratford 13 - 0. Three more matches remain with the season finishing in early June. Manager Alan Horton is recruiting for next season and any women interested in playing for them (particularly goalkeepers) should contact the club at email address below. The Veterans also continued their good run with three league wins and getting through their cup competition 5 - 4 on penalties again Hampton. The season is also drawing to an end for the Colts teams but an early success is the under 12s Red team who were crowned champions of their league.
