Severn Arts summer arts activities online offer T
here are free Summer Activities for the family on offer from Severn Arts, a member of Bromsgrove Arts Alive. An online game, humorous and emotional videos, visual representations of our current time, animations, music quizzes and games and guides all feature in our newly available collection of work on the Severn Arts website www.severnarts.org.uk under ‘what we offer’. Using grants awarded by Severn Arts and Worcestershire County Council, 20 Worcestershire artists have each made work focusing on the theme #CreativeConnections. Each piece is very different from the other but all have an overriding feeling of positivity - highlighting blossoming relations, friendships, community spirit, hope and joy. Islands in the Sky www.severnarts.org.uk/islandsin-the-sky is a fun interactive game for children, featuring the room designs of over 150 local children and the latest addition to the collection is the film ‘On the Surface of the World’ created by Inter-Act – an inclusive workshop programme run by Reaction Theatre Makers www.severnarts.org.uk/onthe-surface-of-the-world You can see all of the #CreativeConnections work online on the website and you’ve still time to contribute to the Pic-a-Primrose project. This project is all about connecting people who are isolated and invites you to upload (family-friendly) photographs on the themes of care, compassion and community

to their online gallery. Find out more and upload photographs to www.moosecatcreative.com/ gallery A further nine local musicians, again funded by Severn Arts, have created work focusing on the theme #KeepMakingMusic. All ages are invited to take part in the activities which include finding out more about pulse, beat and rhythm, testing your music knowledge, having fun in a creative rhythm session using upcycled instruments or even writing a song in a day! Once on the Severn Arts website, you can explore and learn more about their work in the area and find all sorts of resources for parents/carers and teachers. If you want to be one of the first to know about new activities you can add your name to the Severn Arts mailing list. Enjoy a Creative Summer!
